Choose altcoin that has a unique function that can alternate to Bitcoin, not just because of the hype altcoins made the price go up high.
I personally choose, ETH, LTC, NEO, ADA, and might POLKADOT as well.  These are in my portfolio as of now, but I'm still holding a large amount of Bitcoin in my investment.  Bitcoin really has a good potential than altcoins but it doesn’t necessarily mean that altcoins are worthless.  Diversifying them sometimes is good to minimize your risk upon investing in crypto.
