I started off Bitcoin years ago, my family never believed it and said it was all a scam and I should stop (of course I didn't), when Bitcoin was making progress over the years, the influence on people starts to get stronger as time goes by, more and more are starting to believe that there is a thing called "Cryptocurrency".
From telling me to not do Bitcoin because I'm just wasting time to "son, can you teach me your knowledge about Bitcoin?", this is where I realized that Bitcoin is definitely the future to be, to see is to believe and they started to believe me, they did because they saw the value going higher and higher each year, 2020 was the year Bitcoin's value exploded to $20,000 and this was the year that they are convinced that Bitcoin is real, they were so down thinking that it's too late for them, but it really isn't and they can definitely keep up, I hope your family is convinced as well that Bitcoin is real by now and not a joke, I've opened their minds and I hope you can open your friends, or the people that matter to you, because it can definitely help them.
Well, this world we find ourselves, people are always sceptical about things they either have no knowledge or little knowledge about. But, once you present them will concrete evidence being either your financial success or something tangible, they become believers. A lot of people believe Bitcoin is a scam due to what the media has preached to them. I believe once the media portray the true identity of Bitcoin, people will have a different perception of what Bitcoin is and its purpose in the financial ecosystem. |

That's good to know. At some point, we have the same story. I mean, when my parents knew that I was involved with bitcoin, their initial reaction was to stop me from using it or being involved with it. But, just like you, I didn't let their opinion stop me. I still continued with it and continued holding. And then I was able to buy things without asking for money from them. They got curious where I got the financial capacity to buy such things. I told them that it is from bitcoin. They were shocked of course because it turned out that they were wrong about their impression of it.
Now, they are supporting me and my siblings also want to be a part of it, too. Hopefully, other people will believe what bitcoin can really do and remove from their mind the impression that it is just a scam.

My family tend to believe me when they see how I manage to make decent profits out of it.Just like most of the people, they will gonna believe it when they see some proofs of legitimacy. I myself experienced to have a hard conversation to one person who got scammed by btc networking scheme and told me btc is a scam one. It's because he invested in a fake company and to other person who claimed to be a master in trading bitcoins.
On the other hand, if we can see how far bitcoin is progressing. Even the popular individuals are being hooked by this great technology and innovations given by cryptocurrency.

Mostly questions raised are -: - Who is responsible of up and down of market ?
- It is decentralized so if something happens to your money then what?
- Who is Satoshi ?( As no one knows him so it's a scam)
Actually they need solid proof of it's legitimacy. Even government of India has put uncertainty about it's legality , so mostly Indian parents are scared. |

People who don't know about cryptocurrency keep on saying that it is a scam, I don't know the reason for it even though they haven't tried it yet they still keep on bashing it. I have a friend who is like that before but now he told me that he wants to learn cryptocurrency but unfortunately I don't yet good knowledge about it so I only told him a little basic knowledge and recommend him to this forum.

It is normal to see some people who already knew about bitcoin but reject it come back to us and explain more details about bitcoin.
I have that experience too, and I think they just open their minds after reading something about bitcoin, which makes them want to know more details.
The first thing that will make people open their minds and eyes is the bitcoin value, which will give them the curiosity to study bitcoin.
So they will ask us to guide them to start investing in bitcoin or start buying bitcoin.

they are lucky that you didnt ignore them and blame them for not believing in you in the past because i know someone that does this .
they teach a leason to those people that ignore btc but still those people can learn on their own if they really wanted to .
you know whats good for you and you shouldnt follow what others are saying even if that it was your family , imagine if you follow them to stop when they said stop you can be one of those loosers now and people that regret too much for not believing in btc .

you should try to provide knowledge to the family about bitcoin with real evidence. because right now if just a knowledge alone without evidence it won't be convincing, the best way is with a significant proof of the price and usefulness of bitcoin, maybe that's what you can show your family
Why would anyone need to prove something? Isn't there enough evidence that bitcoin is going higher and higher in value every year? If the family trusts, then they will be convinced themselves after seeing your profit. I believe that constantly proving something is a thankless job. Especially when it comes to Bitcoin. All who believe in him, sooner or later reap good results. Sometimes people have a completely different way of thinking, even if they are related. The main thing is to be there and help if there is an interest in learning. |

Indeed seeing is believing and most times, you don't need to beg people to understand things from your own perspective, you just leave them and allow them find the truth through proofs, and how does this proofs come by, it is still through the testimonies of other people and so on. Many people found it hard believing Bitcoin, but today with the growth it has reached, with many platforms already having interest and many institutional investors already buying and holding, they have now realized that indeed Bitcoin is the future. Nowadays, people no longer need other people to convince them into investing in Bitcoin and so on, rather just a mare search on the internet they will get every information they need, and by looking at the marketcap of the crypto space, finalizes their understanding that a market worth such amount will only keep getting better in the future. People tend to connect value with trustworthiness,which is understandable,but can be a little bit misleading.
Your friends and family(and all the newbies,who are entering the world of crypto) shouldn't think that Bitcoin is legit only because the Bitcoin price is 36K USD.Bitcoin was as legit back in 2015,when the price was 500 USD.They must understand the technology and concepts behind Bitcoin,instead of focusing solely on the Bitcoin price.
