People will always hope for the second scenario  to happen as soon as possible but the chart was telling us if there is a possibility for the first second scenario to happen.
This time bitcoin is not able bouncing back again to the above 40k rate.

It's always been this way.. the two possibilities of either going up or down are permanently there in every single market in the world. It's like saying there's a possibility you die tomorrow and the possibility you don't.

The market is still too immature to predict a change properly. The 4-year cycle is different to what we usually had in any other market, which makes BTC's charts way harder to be predicted. I expect a market run exactly like the other previous 2 halvings. Things will go wild once institutions pour in money.

@OP just like you said, there's only two ways that the market can go - either down or up. One thing I've come to learn our the crypto market is that no one can consistently predict the market moves correctly. Another point that I'd like to point out is that this market might not follow the same path that the bull run in 2017 - 2018 took. Now, everything is 2-3x better than two years ago. More users, more adoption for Bitcoin and other cryptos.

Actually, the crypto market will always involve market correction before or while the bullish time.
a market correction is sometimes needed as the starting point again before jumping up. Like what has happened to Bitcoin before passing the previous ATH and reaching a new ATH. Bitcoin price always experienced market correction to jump high again.

And now, Bitcoin price is likely still getting to reach its rate for sideways.
And after sideways, probably altcoin season will come.
We really hope that new ATH will also happen to altcoins in the altcoin season. It may happen if like in the previous bullrun in 2018.

You forgot to include that the bull run in January 2018 was cause by Bitcoin going down hard after hitting a all time high. There was a massive liquidation that time, and I speculate that Bitcoin investors shift their funds to altcoins that's why we have a bull run specially those in the top 10 altcoins. And currently, Bitcoin is still dominating, 60%++ or even reaching as high at 70% at some point.

So we will have to see how it pan out for altcoin this year, ETH already reaches a new all time high, but the rest of the altcoins are still way below their previous all time high so I won't say that we are in a bull run, not yet.

to be frank, can't really say that bitcoin this time gonna follow its cycle in the past. I mean, with all those management fund company, investment company joining hands to flow the money to crypto market for the sake of diversifying portfolio, not to mention the news about some state government trying to invest in crypto using public fund, is it really gonna follow bitcoin's chart in the past though?

I honestly think that the first possibility as you mentioned gonna be the one that happens in the future because there's honestly no reason for btc to get dumped at this point.

The time to take the profit already passed and this is the best time for people to buy back again.
That being said when the market goes down and that will always become the best time to invest. Long term hold is not a recommended thing this time.
The short term traders will always become the best way to take advantage of the current fluctuation in the market. it's quite easy to predict where the market will be going on.
