I did contemplate titling this topic as the challenge of a girl child in Nigeria but I choose that topic because of the politicking and destiny involved in it.

A girl child in Nigeria and Africa at large was relegated to the background in time past. In the family, she was seen as that person that should only to be trained to be domesticated, a good house wife and to know how to take care of the husband sexual urge and produce children for him, male children particular  Grin that will take over as heir to the husband. More seriously,   a home without a male child was seen as the fault of the woman which was a misconception and bereft knowledge of xy and xx chromosomes during cupulation. Female was not seen as a sex that should also have dream and aspiration, voice and party to human existence. A man whose intention was to have one woman as a wife, that can change because of male heir to the family. Then, training a female child was frowned upon just because the woman was seen as not belonging to the Father's family but to the husband's.

Now, modernity and education are changing culture, things are changing in Africa and Nigeria. Sexes of a child seem to be fading away because of global change. The female child is now put to school and the effect is enormous. Women in Nigeria are coming to the table and the latest is Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
She is 66, the first woman and the first African person to serve as the World Trade Organization's director-general.

She is selected by 164 member states to replace
Roberto Azevedo, who resigned on August 31, 2020.

She was destined to lead the WTO as circumstances holding her down all gave way to selection that will last a 4 year term
Okonjo-Iweala’s victory in the race last fall was delayed largely because the United States administration under former President Donald Trump supported another candidate. Her appointment came through last month when the administration of President Joe Biden cleared the way for her selection at the trade body, whose rules require consensus.

It was believed  that the exit of Donald Trump who supported another candidate against Iweala for her lack of trade negotiating experience and the resignation of same candidate gave her victory at last (your Goliath must give way for you this year) accession of obi iwula. As the current World Trade Organization(WTO)The "politicking" was high which got her stocked for a time until she received the support of the new American leadership, Joe Biden's administration.

She is the first woman to lead the organization and also the first citizen of America at that level of the job. Of course how job is going to be tedious and she is expected to be at the centre of the trade war between China and western economy. We are talking about a Nigerian woman that was never sent to school to acquire education, knowledge and some certification to back up her aspirations and dream.

She is impacting the world with her brain

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

This lady just go about breaking barriers against all odds. Being first black boss of the World Trade Organization is a big deal and deal breaker for all. Not just being black but a woman as well. This is to tell you how times have turned and the world has changed with it too.

Yes, I strongly concur that Dr Iweala's appointment at the WTO is destiny at play. For whatever selfish reasons Donald Trump refused to support her was broken by the newly elected administration of Joe Biden. Iweala's case reminds me of a popular proverb in Nigeria — When God blows your whistle, my brother even if you tie wrapper you go play for the match. Sorry for the non pidgin speakers, translating that proverb will cause it to lose its import.

You see?

When people make this claim for the male child being superior to the female child in Nigeria, I just laugh at their ignorance. The best any parent can do for their children is to give them the kind of education that will properly situate them in the body of modern demand. Simple! Now I ask — Who are Dr Iweala's brothers? I don't even know the husband's name, let alone her brothers. It's the same with Oby Ezekwisili and late Dora.
