What you guys think about all those hashes, are they legit wallets or are fake ? because after making huge research i just found there is chinese website that edit wallet.dat files by importing fake wallet info of specific btc addresses and generate so they can be opened in bitcoin core. So when someone check address he can see that there is balance, and get the wallet file. After opening the wallet file, person can also see that there is balance is transaction info inside. But can never unlock the password, so upon my research i can see that all those wallets being sold online such as on site like allprivatekeys or on any forums are fake and edited versions with fake wallet info to confuse the people and make money.

Here are few wallets, i am interesting to make discussion on and want you guys to see and tell what you think if these hashes generated from wallet.dat files being sold online for those btc addresses are real or fake.

Probably, they are real encrypted wallet from bitcoin core yet no one has ever decrypted them (I suppose) since you can still see the balance after importing.

What you guys think about all those hashes, are they legit wallets or are fake

Just think, why on earth would somebody give hundreds of thousands worth of money for pennies?
They are most likely tampered, or erroneous, or the funds moved away long ago.
But as long as there are suckers buyers for this scam "business", it flourishes.

My advice is to stop dreaming and start thinking. Bitcoin is money. And if you want to get money, you have to get it like you'd get any other kind of money. If you see fairy stories, be wary.

Those malicious seller modify non-encrypted part of wallet.dat (bitcoin address and it's public key), even if you manage to decrypt it, you only get private key which doesn't match shown bitcoin address.
I don't have idea how they can do that but being skeptical such items to be bought would help to avoid being robbed.

Thank you everyone for participating in this discussion, so all these wallets are fake and generated by one of the guy from xingfeng, because few fake wallets consist of password from his btc address where he request people to support, so means he has tempered the wallets and set his btc address as wallet password which were reliever by someone, but then this guy might set different passwords for each wallet after tempered, so its just waste of time to spend time on those BTC wallets and addresses.

Just so anyone still want to waste his time like i did after looking into fake tempered fortune wallet then read below:

I have tried following lists against all above wallets

crackstation.txt ( Big list )
humanreadlist.txt
hashesorg2019.txt
rocklist.txt without and with OneRuletoRuleThemAll
ALL BTC addresses with positive balance h160 and base58
Massive list of transaction codes
Allot of other password lists available on the internet

And success rate = 0%

A wallet.dat file is a file for obtaining money, you cannot sell something that will generate a higher income for you for a little money, meaning if there is the slightest chance to make a profit from these wallets, why do they sell them at a cheaper price?
All wallets are a scam and may lead to theft of your coins + wasted money that you used to buy them.

There is no point in seeing the balance in these wallet files unless you can spend it

Hi,

I found some of these wallets (dork+little tricks) and other that are sold on internet.

I tried :
 - brute force from 1 to 7
 - rockstatic2a
 - all bitcoin addresses (27GB)
 - all ethereum addresses upper/lower/without  0x (9GB)
 - all ethereum transaction hash upper/lower/without 0x (160BG)

Without any result for now.

I planed to check with WordlistBySheez_v8 (174GB), dict from all leaks i've found (250GB), hashes.org (when it will be back) and hashkiller (4GB).
(all the dictionaries I used are diffed between each other)

But I have no hope  Undecided

Keep try remaining list just for fun if you want to, if you did not able to find password of those fake wallets, at-least it will help others to stop wasting time on finding passwords from those lists as well purchasing these wallets online from people who selling and make people fool. My badluck, i am one of those who has been convinced to buy, so i did and wasted money on finding fortune inside fake wallets.

This is so unsafe, people can even swap their wallet.dat file for another? Really? Anyone engaging in such act must be very careful and don't end up exchanging a stolen fund or assets for your clean btc, you really need to be careful

There are many wallet.dat offers on this forum. It makes me curious because I haven’t see someone successfully unlock a wallet from this kind of activity yet. Or any successful attempts that I miss?
Somehow I think wallet.dat buyers just buy it to re-sell it again.
It’s like a database reselling activity.

I also think that there are some wallet.dat-producer out there. As it was menation some times already it is psooble to "copy" or
create such wallets, and therefor you even not have to put any BTC on them...

Why do people buy these wallets when they cannot cash out and if the cashing out from these wallet were easy, the seller would have himself transferred all the money to himself rather than selling them for cheap. Its a common sense and people should use their mind before paying for these useless wallet.dat files.

Wallet.dat files that are being sold online need to be well analyzed by the market before buying them these can be new scams for scammers they can sell with access to all the wallets, so if you use the wallet they will know everything. This type of wallet does not carry anything personal and does not need to be bought and used with money as it is more risky it’s their new strategy of making money many countries in the world including China, are making money using this type of wallet. These are not legal in any country so it is better to stay away from this type of wallet.
