his luck with DOT doesnt come too often. he just got lucky because this project has good devt. many projects have the opposite fate of DOT. so he needs to be careful in selecting projects to invest with.

That gives us reminder if the hunters are not only silently participating in the campaign but when we can catch a good project and then the hunters were also actively investing their money on the ico.
This has been happening since a long time ago but the people were only seeing the hunters as the people to advertise the token.

You are one of the lucky ones that every bull run gives a chance to. Good for you. Just make sure to invest part of your profits back into something which is stable, preferably bitcoin. A lot of these gains can be ephemeral (not the one you had with DOT, though). It is best to diversify and keep a safe stack at all times.

Also, for anyone spending lot of time on bounties, it is always much better for you as well as the whole space if you spend time actually getting to know about the project and contributing in whatever ways you can. Those who follow this approach tend to benefit in the long term like you did. A lot are though just insanely lucky.

I am still not that regular in bounty hunting but by reading some old topics about researching potential bounty projects, I learned some good staffs!

Then I got some money and was thinking why not invest in this Defi, bull, and polka season! So I researched my best, tried several presale wars and After filling 5-6 presale forms, I got lucky in a polkadot based presale! I knew I won a jackpot but did not even realize my 500$ can become 4800$!!!

Now, I am feeling money is flying in the crypto industry, you just have to smart hard worker to grab them!

After such earning, I am looking for good presales and bounties, I won't stop my running until I become whales, because one guy made 1000 ETH from 800$, he is my inspiration now!

I bought into BNB @ $41 and not even knowing it will go the way it went and rode that wave to $300+  Yeah, some projects new projects can be like that and most not too fun because after their presale, the price just crashes and mega loss to investors.

Topic starter should realize, that chances that his tokens, bought during pre-sale, will repeat his experience with Polkadot is 1 on 1,000,000. The only thing he got from this pre-sale situation is experience. He had a chance to multiply investments, but havent used that opportunity. Why did he wonder, if he has another chance, he wont use it again?

He said he is inspired by a guy who turned $800 into 1000 ETH. He never mentioned how he did it. He might have bought ETH in the very beginning, held it till January 2018, sold and bought back on December 2018. This is like being inspired by stories "bought an apple for 1 cent, sold it for 2, then bought two apples and sold them again...".

finding a project like that can also be called luck because he really has the knowledge for it all.
most projects today will indeed be at their ICO price when listed on the exchange.
there used to be XUC as well as CRPT which was a fortune possible for bounty hunters and those who got tokens from the start until it was launched on the market. but now lots of junk tokens from the project are useless.

Remember 2017-2018, then there was the era of ICO, and there was similar news from every YouTube channel. Someone won, and someone just gained subscribers. People, add a little skepticism to your admiration. Only one person always wins, it is impossible for everyone to win. First, you need to study the project where you will entrust your money. We also need to add a moment of regular advertising. Don't believe what your eyes haven't seen. Always think with your own head and assess the risks.

I guess I envy your earnings from bounty hunting, OP.
I am not a bounty hunter, but sharing insight for your fellow bounty hunters on how you can avoid such crappy projects would help some.

That's the right spirit OP. Everyone has a chance to make some money in the crypto space even if you have only a few hundred bucks to invest. Or like in your case by earning your initial investment funds by joining good bounty campaigns. Even though you always need some luck to join a good bounty you can still increase your chances of getting a good one when you are doing your part and research the projects.

being a bounty hunter is an alternative to getting capital if we want to invest in a coin like i did I get capital from the bounty and I set aside half the proceeds from the bounty to invest and very grateful that I invested heavily in Doge when the price of the doge is still low and now the price of the doge high then I sold it and my profit grew a lot

Thanks your luck getting into these presale, i have given up on them, it is like a lottery which I think is not fair to retail investors because they will need these retail investors to build their community, if you are have 100 million tokens and you are selling just 200K to the retail investors through public sale and the rest is to the private investors, team and advisors. This is the reason most of these presale are pumping like crazy when they get listed because just few percentage of the tokens is in circulation

Very impressive, because basically bounty hunters in general are people who only have time capital instead of money, so it would be very natural that hunters use their time to earn money through bounties which they will eventually use for pre-selling in the bounty others, so this is certainly different from investors who don't work in any bounties and immediately work on new pre-sale projects

not everything is like that. there is also a bounty hunter who participates in a campaign but also joins the sale.
I used to do it in the ICO project. but when the project ICO became popular.
although financially it is clear that bounty hunters and presale investors are different. but if we look at the support for the project. and ownership of tokens, of course, they both support owning tokens. they hold back until the open market begins.
we have to appreciate both. because they are people who support the belief of a new project.
