Bitcoin will last until a better option is offered. Nothing lasts forever in this world and it won't be different with bitcoin, although I think it will take a long time yet until bitcoin becomes useless. We didn't even reached the peak and fully adoption yet. The future looks very optimistic for bitcoin. Many people are already aware about this fact and that is why we see so much interest in bitcoin nowadays, reflected on the currently currency's price.

Bitcoin is one of the greatest and potential coin in the world. This price is now volatile. And rising day by day. Sometimes it drops but again rising. I think Bitcoin price will increase more and these conditions last longer and Bitcoin have a bright future.

As time goes by, many will realize that Bitcoin is the most valuable asset in the world. every few years Bitcoin will definitely make a new ATH and this of course makes people continue to be interested in Bitcoin. mass adoption is not nonsense.

We can never predict what's the future of bitcoin. It may become the digital currency that everyone wanted. It maybe the only currency that is used by everyone, replacing fiat. Or it maybe the exact opposite. It may turn out to be something disappointing. Maybe we will find a huge flaw that will make bitcoin completely obsolete. Probably a new currency or technology might be invented that will be far superior than blockchain and bitcoin. All I am trying to say is that you may never know what's going to happen in the future. Maybe things will be the same the next decade, maybe not.

I agree, what happens in the future is not in our control but the present can change the future so we all have to focus on what is currently on the table and make do with it and enjoy everything because as @adzino says, no one can predict the future so cherish it while you can.

Bitcoin has been existed for about almost 12 years, and with this long time period, I don't think that the era will end so easily.
Moreover, during the day, Bitcoin is growing more and more popular, many more people in the world are approaching Bitcoin, many more companies, institutions, and also big parties are also interested in Bitcoin. So, this will be growing very well. Only a very big mistake, influence, and also problem that will probably stop BTC and that time, other cryptocurrencies may also be broke or over.

And here about the Bitcoin vs Future, once more, we are not God that knows the future. Everybody cannot. But from the condition so far, I believe that Bitcoin will last longer.

Bitcoin is chicken-and-egg money. It's a paradox. For payment use, Bitcoin needs to be a stable Store of Value. But Bitcoin needs to have payment adoption before it can become stable. It's circular. It's creating a divide between bitcoiners and nocoiners. Nocoiners are bitter and mad for missing the boat. Bitcoiners brag about their gains while their bitcoin is locked in storage. This dynamics repeats every bull/bear market. It seems to get more intense from now on. In the previous cycle, Ethereum and ICOs took some heat away from Bitcoin. In the current cycle, Bitcoin is the king. It still doesn't do anything else besides sitting there for speculation. People don't talk much about Lightning.

I'm bearish about the future impact of Bitcoin if we continue like this. Price appreciation is a blind spot. Volatility remains high. Bitcoin has gone 2 halving cycles without payment adoption. Payment adoption is secular. We need it. Otherwise, Bitcoin is turning into a religious movement. The world is increasingly polarized. Bitcoin increases polarization.

Also dont get your simile of old computers that dont run - that is junk and only worth selling at whatever price you can but bitcoin is growing in price. Development is happening behind the scenes on Core and gaining attention from the world's big companies.

Bitcoin being allowed for merchants who are into e-commerce will be the next big thing after Paypal allowing bitcoin. Very soon we might see this happen because once the companies start accepting bitcoin one by one all follow suit due to peer pressure.

i have been in the cryptocurrency field since 2014 and i have seen the brightest and darkest days of BTC but when i look at the current rising conditions of the bitcoin market i see that we have come a long way and most of the world is accepting the cryptocurrency payments and some lager brands are also connected to the BTC world.

The future of bitcoin is still unpredictable and everyone is very curious about it. We can use the current occurence as a hint or as a pattern to predict what is going to happen in the next few years. There's nothing wrong with guessing what will happen in the future since that just means you are trying to make sure that everything you are doing will secure your future. Instead of stressing out if bitcoin will go down soon, why not focus on speculating the price movement and figure out what you can do to take advantage whatever situation it is.

That's a lot of hype for bitcoin, can't have too much promises unless you can do it all right? But your speculation is right, there is a possibility that bitcoin price will go up if it does follow a pattern like the pattern of stock market where as time goes by, the prices only go up.

I agree but in bitcoin, there is a lot of wealth that's flowing on it. It's not limited to very people, we can say that there's really a vast wealth that's circulating to a very few people but it includes the exchanges that hold massive bitcoin and wealth. An individual that holds bitcoin is part of that wealth share and for sure that someday it's going to be worth a lot and will also be considered as wealth for that specific individual.
