I think the next evolution of privacy coins will allow non-private projects to use privacy services to privatize their primary use case. NFTs > Private NFTs... DATA > Private Data... E-Commerce > Private E-Commerce. etc. Privacy is about more thant just discrete P2P. Given that, I think the future lies in interoperability and chains that can figure out how to do it well. Secret is cool and a good step with dapp deployment but it seems dapps will need to deploy on their chain. Instead I'm looking for projects that can interop with existing apps and color tokens / tx with privacy. D4RK seems to be headed in that direction with their move to DOT. Currently they're working on 2 services e-commerce storefronts and private ipfs. but it's early to tell exactly what the end game looks like.

That being said privacy chains that just do transactions and do it well have a place. Monero is leading the pack (last I checked) but I heard although difficult... tx can be traced. So hopefully things on that front can improve.

Another note here... I think a proper solution for self sovereign identities is needed before we can get true privacy and true control over our data. With it you could say KYC while still maintaining control of your data. I think self sovereignty and data ownership goes hand in hand with privacy yet we don't really talk about it much. I think it'll be a big theme this year given all the adoption coming.

This is what I'm saying with interop. Say you have a blockchain that can manage user memberships. You can KYC and prove over blockchain who has valid membership at any given time. Then you could use d4rk or some chain that provides privacy services to color privacy on the transactions and nfts describing the membership status and activity. So when the user logs in they just need to sign their address. The d4rk colored membership interops with the membership chain to prove that the membership is valid - boom user has access to the service. So you can kyc and follow the rules while still remaining anonymous. Then you get both... privacy yet conformance to some rules. Again I think there's a place for pure, private p2p tx. But bigger than that... I think there's a potential for privacy at scale for all daily activity that works in concert with legislation / rules.

How could you say that a trend when most of them are started to delist in major crypto exchange, IMHO, I consider it as uncertainty on the part of those Privacy centric coins, Because the truth was US government dont like their "superb privacy features," and the reason is simple they dont have the capability to trace those transactions if the advance and powerful nation like the US cannot trace those transactions what about those other countries that less advance? I believe for that particular reason many countries especially in Europe will follow the US action against the privacy-centric cryptocurrencies. Let me clear my position I'm not against the proliferation of privacy coins in fact I was also using Monero since 2017 I'm just pointing out my opinion in the recent move of the US government against Privacy centric cryptocurrencies.

Oh man, I wish they were. I still have a little hope that we fight the governments' plan to destroy the concept of privacy before it's too late, so I really wish privacy coins are the next trend.

I believe it's gonna turn into a trend as soon as the govs will start questioning their citizens based on blockchain analysis the government itself has done. Once that happens, people will inevitably look for a way out of control and surveillance. My personal choices are Monero and BEAM, although I have not read as much about BEAM as I read about Monero.

Monero, having privacy as a main focus, will likely continue to be the leader of privacy coins in the future as well. And since the IRS is looking to break jusr XMR and Lightning Network, one could say that means they are either not afraid about the rest of privacy coins or they have been able to crack the other privacy coins' privacy features easily.

The more governments will fight to make privacy a crime, the more features Monero's team is going to add to counterattack the gov. I trust the devs and I find XMR incredible tbh

The most privacy centric coin Monero is still listed on most top exchanges but if ever these CEX would bend to the demands of regulators in delisteing them, DEXes like Bisq, BlockDX and XLite will gain more popularity.

Mind you that these privacy-invading regulations is also the one reason why these coins are gaining more popularity.

If in the future the state decides to accept cryptocurrency into its financial economic system, they will fight any anonymity and confidentiality. The government of any country understands the implications of anonymous transactions. Such schemes will necessarily be used for money laundering and financing of extremist organizations.

It could be the next trend but there will be many people that would be scared because of the government's activeness in taking them down in exchanges.
My choice is still Monero as the number one, nothing beats its privacy.

I think that the privacy coins will remain niche coins.

The next (current) big trend here to stand is DeFi, which will not change for at least another year. People love making money and DeFi is the perfect option for that.

The next trend is not known yet but I also want to add privacy altcoins to my list. The Monero and Zcash have huge potential but the market investors need to load the bad on the mentioned altcoins for pumping it to the next level. I have bought some XMR and sold it on the latest bull trend, after some pullback I think to buy it back. Monero is still widely used by traders who like to trade on deep web markets, there is no potential competitor to the XMR and Zcash in terms of anonymity.

Im not feeling good with privacy coin right now consider people are starting to abandon it but it looks like some people might still use privacy coin like monero. i think that privacy coin will not be the global trend. The government was doing various things to get the date from the exchange site. Here's the main concern when people are actively using centralized exchange site and privacy coin means nothing as the data will be collected by exchange site but the privacy will be useful only for peer to peer transaction that will not involve the 3rd party like centralized exchange site.

Bro this d4rk coin have intresting vision but nothing has happened on github since this project start. Btw they are listed on stex-centralized exchange.

If it confronts many of the governments interests across the world then a big chance the government will try to crack down these kind of coin. I will be honest, government hates these kind of coins that are totally out of their control and it probably won't become a global trend.

Somehow Bitcoin also can technically be used for anonymous transactions just like the Privacy coins we use today primarily the XMR. With that said, its been done before that Bitcoin are being stopped and cracked by the government, if they weren't successful in doing so they will not also be successful in cracking XMR, ZEC, BEAM and etc. There is no better time for them to do it but now, they however knew they can't.

On the contrary, many exchanges are already delisting most of them, because of the government pressures around the globe. Privacy coins have been in the crypto sphere for many years, and maybe you are wondering why don't get the love that other altcoins have? I hope in near future there will a huge trend of privacy coins because on the basis of advantages we may not underestimate privacy coins at all according to my estimate I hope Monero, Zcash and Verge these three privacy coins may perform really well in the cryptocurrency market hopefully the holders of these privacy coins will have beneficial occasions in near future.
