The news is quite interesting to me because the gamblers are so much tricky that they use live match for batting in different countries by visiting the playground and used the time in betting. In other words they asked for it.When they knew that in Bangladesh is forbidden any kind of gambling,their only choice was a VPN and cryptocurrency betting and they did not choose this.Any other option for them would have led them to arrest one time which unfortunately did.The lesson to be learned here is to only use tools which don’t compromise your freedom when betting in a country like Bangladesh where gambling is not allowed.

I still consider it impossible too for three victim to penetrate to the stadium and place their bets in their digital device, although, after reading through the article to the last page, BCB said they would be going into investigation on how they penetrated when spectators are banned.
The blame would still be on those indians when they know fully well that gambling is restricted in Bangladesh, I don't know what might be the duration of this punishment either to these victims.

"The BCB accused them of betting through digital means inside the stadium. They were formally arrested today," said Hasan Imam, a senior Chittagong police officer.

the police still accuse? means they are not certain they are involved with the accusations raised.

BCB said they would be going into investigation on how they penetrated when spectators are banned.

This is still a question because of course the stadium will be closely guarded unless the three are working with one of the stadium employees to get inside.  hufftt for me, this news seems written carelessly.

if its a ball game why its allowed when any forms of gambling are banned in that country and are there a wifi or a special access on that area and why they can access betting sites online if they are near that place .
i didnt know that bangladesh is strict country but why not allow legal gambling or gambling that are not related to crypto because it will be boring if they ban all fun activities

As far as i understand from reading the statements above they were in the stadium and wagging bets on live matches and not sure how they are caught but it was a great idea as i always thought that the live audience had an advantage if they place a bet in the stadium but taking that kind of risk in a country where gambling is banned is a risk i will not take  .

Going into a live match game and then using the telecasting time to bet on results which are already known is something out of the box still though, sportsbook actually closes the window for betting before some seconds of actual live stream to prevent these type of practices I've observed? Still, their idea was good but criminal haha. They saw it coming and accepted it

These people would've entered the stadium in the name of security guard or in the name of support staff. The complete investigation isn't over yet. As everything is connected to the technology it could've been a simple task for them to operate staying within the stadium. Bangladesh being a country against gambling, we can expect some hard restrictions in the coming days.

They were in the stadium which in the first place, there should be no audiences there. It's already a violation, not gambling related.

Maybe they have a person inside which allows them to watch the game and offers some percantages for winning or just a quick pay to allow them to watch the game live. It's prohibited since the betting was delay in a live match. I also wonder why they got inside easily.

On the other hand, the law enforcement team also said they will investigate it seriously and they are trying to find the connectivity with BCB if there has any or not. So it is still a lengthy process and authority maybe involved there. Without proper investigation, it is too difficult to claim only three were involved. Maybe they were a team or maybe not. Anyway, we will wait to know the real culprits.

Yes it's very wondering for me too. Because the area is normally restricted while playing in the ground. So maybe there has something special care to use fast internet service and may be some culprits from high authority is also involved. All will be disclosed soon.

With the internet connection growth, I think it is easy for people to bet on the match. They can bet in any place they want, including in the stadium, wherein the audience is prohibited. Maybe it needs communication between the government and the people to make them in danger because the pandemic still not ends. It will add more new cases if people do not obey the rule from the government.

But even if gambling is prohibited in that country, I guess that will not stop people from gamble because I think they will still betting, even in a secret place. The government can arrest people by playing gambling, but the government needs to find that place, which is not easy to know.

People want to bet, no matter what. It's a good way to make a profit and make a sport more interesting
I find it kind of sad that so many countries prohibit betting. Why make it illegal you can supervise it  and tax it? Three guys get busted but in the end there will be new people coming and taking their spot. It's going to be hard do eliminate completely.

As you said, Bangladesh isn't a gambling-friendly country so expect that they are strict in terms of any securites related to gambling. Anyhow, these people surely knows the risks and already accept the fact that they will be caught soon.

Definitely, some officials and people in the stadium are involved, maybe someone in the group of security and officials are working clean, and they got caught, because as like others said and read in the news it's really not allowed to enter the said premise, there are people involved or bribe or there is a big syndicate involved with those three people maybe they are also a victim by those people.

The guys wanted to cheat, but they did not provide for security measures and now they will probably have to answer for such an oversight to the fullest extent of the law. I don't know how harsh the Indian laws are, but I think this particular case will be a show trial.
