To thepriceinsats I wish good luck with the project, looks very nice and I hope to see more products added, very cool that it's not just fixed fiat amounts converted to BTC!
Thanks for your kind comments and yes, I'm planning to add more items as I go. I certainly need more staples like beef, tooth paste, milk, etc My next job is a little localisation. So if you access from the US - you see dollar prices, if you access from Japan you get Japanese Yen, etc. Makes the site a little more global. That sounds great! We recently had a discussion whether Bitcoin can be used without USD (I think it can) and a site like this can help have a feel how much e.g. 10Ksat are worth without actually converting to USD / EUR / CYN etc all the time, instead directly connect Bitcoin / Satoshi price with actual goods

@thepriceinsats It looks like you've gained only a small amount of followers since you posted " this" back in March; perhaps you should consider trying paid promotions on various platforms [start with small amounts and see which one works best]. - If you expand your listings to other reliable platforms, I'll create an avatar and promote your website [for free] for a month or two [depending on my mood, I might extend it].
- Send me a PM when you've added items from other platforms - Just found out Tesco doesn't offer referral links for its products [you might want to look for a platform that does offer such things].
- Bought you a coffee [hopefully, it makes you feel more motivated to do the updates/changes faster]
Huh? Where did you get those 400kSat fees from? Perhaps he/she made that comment while using one of those websites that always tend to overestimate fees [e.g. here's one]. Update:Hey, first of all, thanks for the Coffee, I know people don't want to part with them $SATs (neither does this mole) but your right, marketing is more the focus. I'm getting a little more traction and posting more reliably but I will definitely take your pointers on board!
You're very welcome - Best of luck.

I mean, the Twitter account could quite surely be setup to post automatically via a bot, e.g. daily a random item priced in sats Less work for you and more frequent updates

That is why it looks good each time and generally, the message is fun, not just [ITEM] at [PRICE] [LINK] I just need more arms or even better MORE MOLES!

What's the view of the community.
Focus on adding more items (which gives great searchability) or localisation - language and currency?

To give everyone a quick update. Just added 5,000 more items to the database, so now we have over 6,000 searchable items on the site! It was one of the biggest feedbacks that we were missing either essential items or variants. I also noticed myself when posting on twitter ( https://twitter.com/in_sats) that some everyday items were missing. What were working on- localisation based on IP for currency and language
- reverse calculation for the SATs calc (enter SAT figure get currency
- identifying new product sources in Asia and USA
If anyone wants to follow a mole https://twitter.com/in_sats

AFAICR, the load time on your website wasn't that bad but after the update, it's taking around 16 to 17 seconds to load: Video link- I'm not sure if it's directly related to the number of items you've recently added or something else is causing it [there might be a high load on the server (you might want to check if you're hitting any limits with your current hosting plan)].

This is a good idea, specially to make sats more common. A couple of comments: You're usually showing a different amount (1 sat less in BTC price), probably because of some rounding error. Sats price should be exactly 100,000,000 times the BTC price. Example from website: 0.00012955 BTC 12956 SATs Also, in my opinion, SATs should be either sats or Sats, since it's short for Satoshis. BTC(or XBT) is the currency code used to represent bitcoin, there's no SAT currency code.

Thank you - been beavering away this week (is there a similar analogy for a mole??) to fix the performance issue. Some site re-structuring had to be done and then I'm moving on to updating the calculators to be able to do a reverse calculation and then localisations - with a few more currencies. Please let me know, what currencies you wish to see. Currently, we have GBP, USD, EUR, JPY and CNY but as the Chinese love to ban crypto, maybe I'll remove the CNY........ No, I wouldn't punish people like that.

A small update but I think an important one, you can now enter a number of SATs and get back the FIAT figure in 5 currencies. (Planning to be 10 soon) With the increase in speed and hopefully this little change, usability is increasing.

I've added a few more currencies, hopefully, once the IP localisation is done people who visit the site will see their currency.
Added: AUD, CAD, CHF, HKD & NZD (That gives 10 currencies in total)

Not sure if you would eventually do this, but a proper localisation would include a different set of items for different countries. If you have never seen the brand or item, then you don't get any benefit of seeing the price in sats.

I have been looking at stores across the oceans, that we could scrape similar to the operation with Tesco. But I hadn't thought about localisation and showing particular items based on location, thanks for the Input

I've added the localisation feature which means that if you access from 10 jurisdictions, you will see your currency. It works ok, could be better and I needed to refresh a couple of times to clear out the cookies.
I am also going to add the Bitcoin BTC Whitepaper on my thank you's list at the bottom because well, everyone should at least read it once.

I like your idea a lot. You have created a great website. Although there are some minor flaws in the website you can fix them later. I hope you make the website a little more interesting.

Thanks for the thumbs up, there are always improvements I want to do and areas I want to focus on. Feel free to list some things you would like to see improved. Community feedback is always welcomed and hopefully, you'll support the site and idea.

Oddly enough I thought today that it's a good way of tracking deflation because I have the historical prices of items like Lucky charms on March 3rd cost 4,073 $SATs now they only cost 3,237 and Illy Coffee Beans, on March 27th they cost 16,783 $SATs and now they are 14,027 SATs.
Printers go Brrrrrrr
