Yes you can mine pi on smartphone but you will need to pass KYC which is a pull off for me and also the mining isn't an actual real mining, it works like cloud mining service, I've stopped trusting that project for many reasons, I believe the team are just complete time wasters

Anything that claims to be for smartphones only is a scam. Their "coins" can't be exchanged
anywhere making them worthless.

Most are click bots that "mine" by clicking on advertising supported content like Youtube videos
to generate revenue for the publishers. Those like Pi are the worst by using KYC to harvest information
from users.

Real POW miners exist for smarthphones, but they mine some of the same coins as any CPU can,
but at a small fraction of a real CPU's performance. They also face all the issues of POW like overheating.

Mining on mobile devices should be avoided unless the device is expendable. They aren't designed
to handle that much heat.
