Specifically in Costa Rica.  I’m trying to turn some friends onto it down there and I’m having a hard time directing them to the right place.  Looking for websites to learn from and reputable exchanges there.  Any advice is appreciated

Check out the Bitcoin for Beginners Playlist[1] of Andreas Antonopoulos. Yes, the videos are in English, but it seems that all of the videos in this playlist has Spanish captions available.

If your friends prefer books though, fortunately, one of Andreas' books The Internet of Money[2] has Spanish versions.

What about the Spanish section of the forum ?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=27.0

I’m currently learning Spanish and I periodically have a look around there , I’m not sure if there’s any good beginners guides there? Perhaps  a Spanish speaking member could suggest a few good beginners threads there ?

To OP, this is a good starting point, that is if you speak Spanish. You can also go at the Beginners & Help section although there is close to zero Spanish threads there but you can learn the basics there although you need to understand some English.

You should learn bitcoin on the internet. It is the best source to learn anything. My country has such low technology but it does not stop me from learning bitcoin by myself throughout the cyber network.

Youtube is also a good place. Otherwise, you can learn bitcoin directly on this forum. If you have any question need to be resolved, just ask people on this forum and you will definitely receive several decent question

Good luck on your bitcoin tracks. It is never too late to learn anything

It really depends on what you’re after. The Spanish local board can help to get some insights, but there are no Spanish topic based guides there that I can recall now. Reading there is not linear, and you can get an idea by jumping from topic to topic. Questions do get answered there, so it’s a place I’d visit with specific concerns. It’s not a fast paced board though, and I can’t recall if there’s anybody active there from Costa Rica.

Nevertheless, it you want to learn, it’s better to start with a linear topic based source of information. Binance Academy translates its articles into Spanish, and they’re more than readable. i.e.:

On Bitcoin: https://academy.binance.com/es/articles/what-is-bitcoin
On Trading: https://academy.binance.com/es/articles/a-complete-guide-to-cryptocurrency-trading-for-beginners

Besides, they’ve got bags of videos that are interesting to watch to get a general idea (i.e Binance Spanish Masterclasses). There are plenty more on their Spanish channels.

Most books people reference here (or on the Spanish Local board) are in English, bit some have their translation into Spanish, such as:

https://www.amazon.es/Internet-del-Dinero-Money-n%C2%BA-ebook/dp/B0783QS1NG
https://www.amazon.es/Mastering-Bitcoin-Traducci%C3%B3n-completa-blockchain-ebook/dp/B07RJ1NT1V

Note: Links are to a retail store not available in your country, but it serves as a reference to the books.

Edit:
I've looked around on the Spanish local board for info on Exchanges used by people in Costa Rica, but found little local information on the topic. The closest I found is this thread:

The best place in right there in the bitcoin talk where you can find many active and experienced users to ask them question to read some different kind a of topics and get more information. In this case, if you are looking for Spanish guides and articles I suggest you to visit Spanish section of the forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=27.0
