I believe that our planet is in deep... trouble. We need to stop polluting it so that our kids and grandkids would have a better world to live in.  Cheesy

One of the ways to help the planet is to reduce CO2 emissions. Some countries like Norway say that it will be fully electric in the next decade or two.  Smiley

Back to the topic. Recently something struck me like a lightning. What if the big companies are stopping the progress of technology to secure their profits?  Huh

For example, Japanese engineers created the car named Tama (https://jac.lt/en/ev/tama-the-ancestor-of-nissan-leaf/) 70 years ago, which had the autonomy of 200km.  Shocked Doesn't that makes you wonder if the progress is being oppressed on purpose?  Embarrassed Imagine what we could have today Shocked

Believe it or not, before the model T, half the cars on the road were electric and the other half were gasoline.

Gasoline ended up winning due to the ability to fuel up nearly anywhere. It was easier to go to a gas station at the time; as the electricity grid did not exist.

My source says that the Tama had a range of 40 miles or 65 km, much shorter than your 200 km range.

Special Feature: THE SAFIRE SUN

Based on the discoveries of the last six years, the SAFIRE team is currently developing a nuclear-plasma reactor that will have the capacity to both generate electrical power and remediate radioactive waste.

THE SAFIRE SUN is an 11-minute film designed to give potential collaborators a quick overview of the project. The $20+ million USD to be raised covers the entire five-year project: kick-off -- $240K USD; Phase 1 -- $5 mil USD; Phase 2 -- $9 mil USD; and Phase 3 -- $6 mil USD.

Some people who have power can stop the technology, but can they stop all people who want change? I do not think so.

I do not think that the big companies will stop that because I am sure they still want to grow their company and be the number one big company on earth. We see Tesla spread the wings on cryptocurrency, and I think the other big companies will start to follow what other companies did. But who knows? We are only ordinary people who follow the journey of this world.

Yes it was opressed or supressed by the mechanical engine car manufacturers and rich oil companies, because even I saw an article about successful electric build car atleast 50 years back but they never got mainstream. Look at Tesla which isn't a company grown in one day, he faced lot of struggles to make the vision possible.

There really is this thought that comes to our mind and sometimes it's legit but sometimes, we're just thinking too much. But I would put this thought to legitimacy.

Some big companies are obliged to give officials to their local just to get the favor from them. And if there's some progress that could stop them from making money, they can request the officials to stop the progress. This happens in some countries.

5-10 years from now, cars would be electric IMO.

Yes because that is the only option for those car manufacturers to survive since the oil resources are exhausting which may no longer exists at the end of next two decades.

Unfortunately, Nikola Tesla was born at the wrong time. The previous century was dominated by an energy crisis that left the world's power generation-industrial complex with few other options than to turn to the best known inventor of the age. As it turned out, Nikola Tesla struggled to compete with other industries and inventors and to earn a living. His ambitions were to solve some of the world's most pressing problems but the competition against large corporations was brutal.

Yes because that is the only option for those car manufacturers to survive since the oil resources are exhausting which may no longer exists at the end of next two decades.
And the trend is with Tesla cars that are electric.

Most of the car manufacturers have to adopt the new trend and they need to cope up with modern technology with cars.

Yes, it is, most likely.
I know there were cars that works with water, but this company, for example, was bought out by another large company and closed the project, although the prototype was already ready and it drove perfectly on the roads.

Most people do not yet understand what multilayer matrix we live in.

5-10 years from now, cars would be electric IMO.
Yes because that is the only option for those car manufacturers to survive since the oil resources are exhausting which may no longer exists at the end of next two decades.
And the trend is with Tesla cars that are electric.

Most of the car manufacturers have to adopt the new trend and they need to cope up with modern technology with cars.
Almost every car companies started to manufacture their own electric cars and more futuristic cars but Tesla is more ahead of them since the journey of tesla began too early compared to others.

Yup.

So far, nothing can beat Tesla as it is at its prime. But we'll never know if the known car manufacturers can be at par with Tesla's set of cars.

But it's very near that we'll see many electric cars in the streets although diesel engines, I think they'll take time to phase out.

Not very many can afford a Tesla car. That's why these car manufacturers are also making their own version, which some are already available and more affordable in the market. I, for one, is also looking forward to buy one in the near future. Right now, I can't afford yet. But that's one of my goals and also, to have my own charging station at home. We need to be self-sufficient somehow while helping the environment.

Yes. The future of electric cars is undoubtedly looking bright. We are likely to see an increase in the adoption of EVs in the coming years.
However, the only thing standing in their way is the limited infrastructure required for charging electric cars. We are currently in a situation where electric cars are limited to a handful of cities across the country. Thus, charging stations are not readily available and charging times are lengthy.

On the other hand, hydrogen has been the shining star of eco-friendly technology in the past. With strong backing from the U.S. government, hydrogen cars have been growing in popularity.

The progress is being opposed you say,
Its a possibility but also, it could mean we are at the verge of improvements on certain fields. Like now, we have diseases amongst us without cures.
Isn't it unbelievable, with our level of technology and research protocols

The global market for electric vehicles is expected to grow significantly in the next few years. As most of the automakers are currently gearing up to introduce EVs in the market, we can expect a steady rise in the sale of EVs in the coming years. These vehicles have been gaining traction in the market because of the various benefits they offer and hence, these vehicles are likely to capture a large market share.

The major barriers that are currently preventing the adoption of electric vehicles are the high cost of the vehicles as well as the lack of infrastructure required for the charging of the vehicles. Nevertheless, there is a huge potential of growth for the global electric vehicles market, and the growth prospects for the market are likely to get better in the coming years.
