I've been here for a while now. I've posted something here recently. I've started reading to find out now. I've tried to read all the answers to the posts I've seen to ask questions. But I haven't read all of them. Because I read the first few answers. I noticed that all the answers are the same. Then why should I read all the answers? And why do you keep answering even after the correct answer is correct? If your answer is the same as the previous one, why do it? Newcomers like us can't be bothered to read it?
If you can add something new, don't do it. Don't ask me to read the same answer. The previous answer is for you.
Then you refrain from giving the same answer.
If you want to get the correct answer from a person, you should not answer in that way.

Example:
question :?
replay: 1.correct ans
replay: 2.quote correct ans
replay:3.quote (1correct ans)=(stop it)
quote:4.add somthing new=(continue)
quote..
are somthing stop your ans.

There are at least two problems here.
1. People answer over and over again because they are lazy to read the answers, or because it helps *them* (rank, posts count) to post.
2. It may happen that people try to rephrase the answer in order to make it clearer, and they may even add more details.

The best way to counter that is to close the topic after you've got your answer.
Anything else will allow people continue to answer, unfortunately.

And be assured, in most cases the people answering over and over again will most probably skip/ignore your complain.

Keep in mind that, like everywhere in this world, there are all kinds of people on this forum too, and some have different goals than helping you (or anybody).
Try to get the best of this forum and don't worry too much  Wink

why do you keep answering even after the correct answer is correct?
Well, that surely has to do with signature campaigns. I myself, has seen what you described lots of times. You see, when the campaign pays you per post or requires a specific amount of posts to include the participant in the payment, this happens. Either, because they know the answer and thus, they reply or due to their time pressure.

You don't have to read the entire post if you're satisfied by the first posts, but I disagree to the usage of “all”. Not all of them are the same answers, some of them may be appreciated more; that's why we have the merit system.

But, I'll agree that there's a “slaughter” of who will answer what. It is justified, though.

just like what BlackHatCoiner said it has something to do with the signature campaign and if you are thinking that the signature campaign should be banned to reduce the spam, No it most likely will not happen. also, even with all the seemingly endless identical answers replying to your questions, there will always be several members that will add something new and important information that the previous member might have forgotten to mention in his post.

if you are thinking that the signature campaign should be banned to reduce the spam, No it most likely will not happen.
It will happen if the forum is covered by shit posts again and merit system fails to control shit posters.

At least, fortunately, the merit system works and the forum is less spammy than in 2017 and 2018. Many spammers are still there but the merit system and the changes of Bump score in a few boards make their spam posts less annoying.

theymos does not want it to happen too.

What are everyone's ideas for improving post quality?

I have mostly ruled out:

 - Removing signatures or sig ads globally.
 - Requiring payment to wear sig ads.
 - Banning account sales.

First, most people complaining about merit are constantly posting garbage, and should not rank-up. The forum is not a welfare system; you don't run through a few hoops and then get paid for doing something that nobody actually wants. I like that good forum members can make money, especially when said forum members are in poorer countries and this is a major opportunity for them. I very much do not want to destroy the sig-ad/airdrop/bounty "industry". But I am not going to tolerate people posting garbage upon garbage. If the merit system completely fails and I can't think of anything else to replace it, then my next step will probably be to completely remove all ways for forum users to make money from posting (eg. removing signatures entirely).

Maybe there are ways for people who were making money by posting garbage on the forum to make money on other sites with easy bounties, etc. (For example, I don't know if they're actually any good, but https://bountyhive.io is currently advertising on the forum.) But people should use the forum to talk about these money-making ideas, not as a way of making money itself. Once you spend a lot of time here, you may be able to make some money here (which is great!), but you should consider this a far-off hope, not your primary objective.

I agree that it's something that might be good to be cut down on with some members here.

The people saying signature campaigns won't be banned, message the managers of the sigs/the antispam sig manager groups and ask them to at least consider it...

I've seen three consecutive similar replies to a thread in the recent past that I don't think have been different enough to warrant the 3 posts.

Normally, when adding additional information you'd still answer with a general answer to the op and then add on to it (I think it's a good help to work out if people know what they're talking about or not).
There's so many ways people can be more constructive too (like by adding Screenshots or additional references). But for the case of some boards, a newbie might go through and try to fix their problem as they're reading the replies. A slight extra detail or something explained slightly different could help in some circumstances - not sure on that one though.

I've got to applaud you for being this constructive and then,  to have noted something wrong in the way comments are made in the forum at times and have come to know what spamming actually is which is unaccepted. I won't say this is the way comments are or things are in the forum but then, people do this a lot and it just doesn't go.
Most of it is due to the activity and signature requirements and its outrightly bad I tell you. But then, there could be a different approach to your reading especially when your searching for a correct answer and a difference in the replies you get. You can actually skimme or scan true, looking out for a key word and you might just get past being bored with repeated replies.

Repetitive replies that do not add any value to the discussion are considered spam and should be reported to moderators.
Thread starters are also part of the problem. I saw a lot of newbies (sometimes even high-ranking members) start a topic to ask a question but never come back to lock it when they get the answer they were looking for or to confirm whether their issue was solved or not.
You can also start your threads as self-moderated if you want to keep them clean without having to wait for mods to intervene.

In fairness, it actually depends on the question. Somebody would ask, for example, "Is Binance a good platform? What makes it better than the rest?" Say, the first user to respond would say yes. The second would agree and say yes as well. And so on. There may be a repetition here but they are all helpful to a certain extent. Sometimes, I second that..., I agree..., plus one to that..., same here..., and so on are contributing something to give you a more or less solid idea of the leading answer.

On the other hand, if you noticed, it is not just the responses that are repetitive, the questions also. So we have here a couple of problems actually: users who do not make a little research before opening a topic and users who do not read the earlier responses before making one.

Thread with those types of replies are usually topics that need subjective or opinionated answers which have been answered hundreds of times already in the past. You can find most of them where there is no technical or hard-to-grasp concept involved in a thread.

That is why it is also important to have your "ignore list" ready when you encounter members who do not carefully maintain the quality of his/her post or perhaps avoid thread with hundreds of replies considering that if you think it's a common question that can be answered simply by searching thru the web.

The topics that you unite about are general topics that ask a general question that can be answered by several people, so you will find many repeated responses, but not all topics bear the many responses, as many technical topics are difficult to answer and therefore you will not find many similar responses.

Also, managers and their level of activity improve that the level of spam is low and almost zero.

Don't forget that paid posts are one of the things that force people to have more low-quality content.

The other problem here is that new comers tend to leave the thread unattended. They should have locked the thread when they got the answer they are looking for. I even came across a newbie asking for help and when I saw that the situation is answered already then I posted stating that the thread should be locked now or else the things you mentioned will surely happen.

I once read a story that, on Quora that, "If you go to a village in any part of India and ask any address to anyone. They will stand up if they are sitting, come near your car and will try to explain you that address in the best possible way. If you by chance ask a group, you will receive multiple suggestions also." Other than the innate satisfaction that they've helped someone, there's no physical reward attached.

Personally, I also feel people in this forum have that same inward drive to contribute. Aside from those who do it for post counts and signature campaigns obviously.

I've been here for a while now. I've posted something here recently. I've started reading to find out now. I've tried to read all the answers to the posts I've seen to ask questions.
First i congratulate you for been here and also your time to observe the system of the community, i may say that you have been in active since to the community that trigger you to start making research, this community is made of people of potentiality who are capable and able to render a solution to any issues that comes across you,any challenges of different kinds the solution most be provided here, provided is related to the community.

So observation is the major key to upliftment to this community, reading through the topics and comments of users is a factor tthat will enhance any newbies to comprehend the concept of the forum and cryptocurrencies related, so adequate or subsequent reading of the post will make new users or newbies not to be seeking for answers to little problem, try to make a research

It's too early to get a clear picture, but my thoughts so far:

I mean this. Someone should post as much as they can, the questioner will understand. There is no need to quote similar text. It makes posts and threads look bad. In many cases, it is very difficult to read. If all posts are the same answer, nothing new is added.

It's weird to hear this from a newbie. But in any case, you are the master of your topic. If you think that there are plenty of answers to the question you asked, and you are chewing on the same answers, just close the topic.
Have you learned enough?
You can close the topic.

Well, not totally new but it could be from a banned user --reborn to a new username and rank to gain something.
I also encounter many threads like this but this is how the community works, there could be a 4-5 the same statements that could possibly agree with the same idea. But if you are the OP of that thread and you get a better answer or satisfied with the answer even on the first page, you can lock your topic since it is yours or if it not --you can report to the moderator and request for lock topic since all replies are redundant.
