Armory not coming online

hi all, need support

armory is not getting online. I have Bitcoin core running and its synched. I give the path via the armoryqt.conf file.

armory does not start bitcoind, if i tell it to do so it generates a new folder blocks within the already existing folder blocks and tries to synch from scratch. I cant see anything visualized in armory.

You're the second person who posted the same issue:
Having set the correct path but getting the error that "the default bitcoind directory" isn't a valid path.

Have you tried to path the blocks folder for satoshi-datadir=, in your case, satoshi-datadir="D:\Bitcoin Core\blocks"?
Just like the example in pathing.

You can path the blocks folder for armoryqt.conf;
But not in the GUI (while ArmoryQt is open) File->Setting->Under "Blockchain and Database Paths->Bitcoin Home Directory", because Armory will set that as bitcoind's data dir.

Thank you for the guidance, i have NOT set the Bitcoin HomeDir to point to the blocks, it is set as you described in the other post to only D:\Bitcoin Core\

I changed the path to point to the blocks which you can well see when it is invoking ArmoryQT. Still the same error.

Should i try to have armory run bitcoind instead of running Bitcoin Core by myself?

i also run it once with bitcoind, so now it does not create a new folder for blocks, but somehow still the same error. When i try to close armory it crashes.

Let's try with the config file then.

Create a text file named armoryqt.conf in C:\Users\om\AppData\Roaming\Armory\. Put you cli args in there, one per line. In your case it would look like this:

we are getting somewhere. Now it says "Node Offline (0 Blocks)".

Build Databases is green and there is a Round Sign with 2 Green Quarters  and "Scanning Transaction History" is bold.

I changed armnory to run the bitcoind deamon to see if it changes things, same result and Node is Green.

Since my first post I am NOT using CLI Arguments, I am using armoryqt.conf with the follwing satoshi-datadir="D:\Bitcoin Core\"

I'll change to --satoshi-datadir=D:\Bitcoin_Core\blocks and see if it helps

1) Delete the content of C:\Users\om\AppData\Roaming\Armory\databases

2) Start Core yourself

3) Make a new config file with the same arguments, call it armorydb.conf

4) From the command prompt, browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Armory and start ArmoryDB.exe. What do you get?

Are you sure your user has the permission to access files on the D drive? Try to spawn the DB from an admin command prompt this time.

the problem was Bitcoin Core running in prune mode. Set prune=0 in the bitcoin conf file, re-synched all blocks and everything worked.

Although I'm running on Ubuntu, I have problems very similar to the last part above. I have downloaded the whole wretched blockchain twice now, this time pruning to 7GB. Do I have to have the whole 270GB unpruned to get started? It takes 2 days on my 30Mb connection.

The complete Blockchain is required by Armory to function. It wont work without the blocks from genesis to the latest.
Before disabling pruning and syncing again, make sure that the set disk has enough space because Bitcoin core will enable it if it detected the data directory's free space.
