You can.
The method mentioned by DireWolfM14 is called child pay for parent (CPFP) and can be implemented by the receiver.
To do CPFP, the only thing you need to do is spend the unconfirmed output with a high fee.

Thank you for your answer, hosseinimr93. But can I spend that amount of 0.00109 BTC although it doesn't appear in my wallet? I can only see the transaction on a block explorer, not also in my wallet. I know that some wallets show unconfirmed transaction, but mine (Bitcoin Wallet for Android) doesn't.

Blockchain.com shows the time it last "received" a transaction... currently, your transaction is showing with a datetime received (in UTC) of:

As I wrote above, the transaction doesn't appear at all in my wallet... And, if Blockchain.com keeps rebroadcasting it, doesn;t that mean that the transaction will never be forgotten? And, as a consequence, the funds will never be returned to sender's wallet...?

If those transactions would be purged, I think this would be a good thing for me, I guess, as the funds should reappear in the sender's wallet, thus he could resend the amount with a bigger fee.

I am coming back on this thread to announce that my problem was finally solved. After waiting for 1 month (since January 30 until March 1st), the transaction was finally "forgot" by the network and the funds were returned to the sender. I already asked him to resend the funds, but now I;m only waiting for fees to drop a bit, as they are too high now. To be honest, I was somehow wondering if I'll ever have the chance to see that amount back into sender's wallet, but it seems it is possible, only that you have to be patient for a long time.

I am writing this in case someone else, being in the same situation, is wondering about transactions not processed. I saw several similar topics later on this matter. So don;t worry, the money are not lost and, if you have enough patience they'll reappear in the sender's wallet again. Then the transaction can be resent with a higher fee.

When I observed that the transaction does not appear anymore, I thought it was forgotten by the network and I thought I can recover at any time the funds from the sender. Unfortunately, when I saw the funds were returned to his wallet it was Wednesday as I remember and fees were still high. I said to wait the weekend, as in weekend interval fees are lower compared to the rest of the week.

As I waited for the weekend to arrive, something happened and I was not aware that it may happen: the wallet of the sender attempted to resend the transaction by itself, with no input from the sender. And it resent it with the same low fee, of 4 sats/vByte... Obviously, this made it again to not be ever processed by the miners, so now I have to wait for another month for it to be forgotten again...

However, from this incident I learned two things: 1. transactions can be forgotten by the network and the funds can reappear in a sender's wallet; and 2. if you don;t move fast enough, the wallet attempts to resend the transaction with the same fee (and, in case it's too low, you end up in the same situation as before). I don;t know if this is the behavior of many wallets, but some of them may do it.

Yeah, with a lot of desktop wallets if they had it closed all this time then when they opened it over the weekend then if would have sent it our again.
Different wallets will have different ways of doing it but with the reference client you can use abandontransaction or -zapwallettxes depending on how you want to do it.
And then you wait again till it's dropped from the mempool.

As long as you trust the sender, it will get there (eventually).

Hehe, thank you for the good news... During weekend (before I knew the money are already resent) I was also keeping my eye on the mempool... When I saw 10 sats/vByte I said "Wow! Let's do it now!". Then I saw the transaction is rebroadcasted already... However, I did not know the fees went so low to 6 sats. This is even more encouraging.

Fortunately, trust is not a problem this time The sender is a friend of mine. Anyway, the amount is also one which would never be a great loss - 109.000 sats. If we talked about a very big amount I would feel more sad but in this case it wouldn't be a great loss in a worst case scenario.

In short, no... it's a terrible wallet and you should encourage your friend to move to something better.

A lot of how that wallet functions is outside the control of the end user... It wasn't particularly well coded to start with, and years of mods and tinkering doesn't really seem to have made much difference, to be honest.

On top of that, support is poor, taking days (if not weeks) to get a copy/pasta response etc... and they removed useful features like signing messages

About the only thing going for it is that it uses BIP39 recovery phrases, which makes transferring to a new wallet relatively easy and painless
