Offering my avatar space for FREE and donating my 1st-week signature earnings to a good cause.

After several unsuccessful attempts, I have managed to get into the most prestigious campaign on the forum – ChipMixer. I thought, what better way to mark this occasion than to give something back to the community.

Since ChipMixer doesn’t require its participants to wear avatars, I’d like to offer my avatar space for free. But it has to be for a good cause, and I don’t want to advertise for-profit organizations. A few months ago, I wore a Not Your Keys avatar. I am looking for something like that created by members of the community. I’d like to wear the avatar until the end of March.

I need your help to suggest some appropriate avatars, and then I will select the one I like the most.
Besides the avatar, I’d like to donate the payment I will earn for this week (until Friday the 12th March) to a good cause.

The organization has to accept bitcoin payments and have a proven track record. What organizations do you know which accept bitcoin and are for a good cause?

In the Donation, I think @cryptoprenuerbrainboss had a support program on covid-19, I don't know if he is planning something on the second phase. If you consider it , maybe the donation could help if he is still on the plans.

Maybe you can choose to wear the avatar of bitcointalk charity program handled by @cabalism here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5124375.0 they are doing good on their project and this one really worth to be promoted.

Also @Royse's project is also good so it's up to you now on which of them will you advertise on your avatar first.

So far, Royse777's Project Covid - 19 seems to be the most interesting idea to advertise in my avatar space. If there are no better suggestions by the end of the day, I'll probably start wearing it tomorrow.

Thanks for the suggestions but I didn't like these two. The first foundation organizes seminars on economic topics for students. The second one is confusing and they state that they are "fighting the constitutionality of Automated License Plate Readers" (https://nclalegal.org/). This is not something I am personally interested in and such systems are in place all over the world. In my country, your license plate gets scanned at various intersections to check the car registration. Those things aren't going to be removed. It's a lost battle.

Does anyone know of some other projects one can donate to?

According to the ChipMixer spreadsheet, my payout for the first week will be $96. My initial idea was to donate the funds to Sea Shepherd UK. Although I found their name on a list of organizations that accept bitcoin, the option isn't available through their official website. On top of that, they require KYC when you want to donate even though there is an anonymous donation button.

Does anyone have any experience with The Giving Block which apparently makes it possible to donate to Sea Shepherd with Bitcoin?

My second choice is The Water Project which provides clean drinking water to people in need.

Africa seems to be on top of their list. The good thing is they accept anonymous bitcoin donations. If the Sea Shepherd thing doesn't work out, this is a great 2nd choice.

Does anyone have any reasons why I shouldn't donate to The Water Project or Sea Shepherd?
Are there any known public scandals or proof of dishonesty?

I have personally donated to this project several times, and I am pretty sure the money went into the right hands - everything is documented. Of course, there are other similar projects, such as the one whose avatar you have - they all aim to help people in need.

As for avatars, this one I have is my choice for a free promotion, and if you ever need an alternative -> NotYourKeys.org - Community Contribution Avatar Campaign

If you have any doubts about where your money will end up, the best option is to help someone in person - there must be someone near you who could use $100.

Your post made me check cabalism13's charity program in more detail and I wasn't aware that these lads helped with donations to the victims of the Petrinja earthquake. That, but also there previous actions just put them on top of my list. I am going to check if they still accept bitcoin because they mentioned that they have converted their funds to stablecoins.

Yes, at the initiative of a member of the Croatian board, a donation was made to the Red Cross - as far as I can see, the aid was paid almost 2 months after the earthquake - but it is a well-known Balkan administration.

I'm not sure how much there is a need for help in a specific charity, because someone few months ago donate 1 BTC for them and some other similar initiatives. But I have no doubt that money can always be used for good purposes.

In any case, congratulations on a very good initiative, it is something that is rarely seen on the forum

I have already contacted cabalism13 and posted in his thread to inquire about the donation address. As soon as he confirms that the address in his thread is the correct one, the coins will be sent to him. I am certain there are other charity organizations that I can look into, but that will just give me a harder time to make up my mind.

Greeting, sorry for my late response, and yes I confirm that the Address posted on the thread is still working  and being handled by bl4nkcode. The funds last year was already converted to fiat and divided for monthly activities until June 30.

I don't think you need to pay more than 10 sat/byte, which according to the current mempool would mean that the transaction will be confirmed in the next 4-5 blocks. However, with regard to how price moves, at any time the number of transactions can increase and push such a transaction towards the bottom of mempool.

If you pay the fee I mentioned, then it is possible to speed up the transaction with ViaBTC accelerator, you can do it yourself, and I will be happy to do it if the link to the transaction is made public.

I used a 10 sat/vByte network fee which currently puts the transaction at 5-6 vMB from the top. It will confirm during the weekend at latest, but probably even before that.

March is over and I am removing the COVID-19 avatar. The first week's signature earnings were donated to a good cause and this thread has therefore served its purpose. The time has come to lock it up.
