What you've mentioned in the post is the reality with the gamblers. At the same time there are people who have turned to be addicted gamblers considering gambling as an entertainment. Gambling serves as an entertainment to those who has no means of earning their way using gambling. If someone has an intention by being rich through the use of gambling then they may the one who will take the most damage emotionally and financially.

Poker is all about skills, mostly in bluff and counting the cards using probability to guess what your opponents has.  Fate and luck doesn't equates at all, they are entirely different. If you lose in poker just because of bluffs, it means that you lack in guts and doesn't trust your intuition, luck is already helping you to win but it is you who is rejecting it.
