After 3 years out of BTC I'm back and checking all file backups for any version of a backed up wallet and if I find any Satoshi in some hidden change addresses – maybe now I'm not only going to find some Satoshis but hopefully a brand new f'in TESLA …  Roll Eyes

While you are going deep into your treasure hunt keep in mind all the possible bitcoin forks you may also claim if you are in control of the private keys of the Btc you eventually find https://www.bitcoinforks.io/

Good luck with that.

PS: once I read a useful guide here in bitcointalk on all btc forks and  how to claim them but cannot find it now by hand.

Elon Musk just announced that you can now buy a Tesla with Bitcoin. He also says that they will not convert the BTC to fiat.

This is definitely going to cause a price pump! Make sure you have stacked your satoshis Smiley Did you know you can buy and sell your BTC on our mobile app? Check it out: https://www.tap.global/

Grin  Crazy good news.
This was expected after Tesla buying up $1.5 billion BTC.
As I predicted, Elon Musk looks like it will make bitcoin a payment tool for Tesla.

More like expected because Elon Musk literally said that they're already planning on implementing bitcoin payments after they announced the $1.5B purchase lol. The bitcoin payments was totally expected, but not the "not converted to fiat currency" part, which is a huge huge deal.

I agree mk4, its one thing announcing that they are taking Bitcoin payments
its another to publicly announce that those Bitcoin received as payment
will stay in a wallet and not be converted to FIAT. It backs up what generally
the big investors are getting into Bitcoin for, a hedge against inflation
and to hold for the future.

The Tesla US site theoretically already displays the bitcoin option to make the purchase:

Although trying to get the same results on the US based website, and even setting the VPN to a US city, I currently cannot see the bitcoin payment option, even on the same model of car. Perhaps they’re still making adjustments, or I missed something.

In any case, it’s one of the most currently important show cases for bitcoin in the B2C area, and even more so under the prism of direct payments with no gateway platform involved.

see: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-03-24/you-can-now-buy-a-tesla-with-bitcoin-elon-musk-says

I get the same thing...no bitcoin option.

First seastead company actually selling sea homes: Ocean Builders https://ocean.builders  Of course we accept bitcoin.

What about the law? You don't just give 0.1 BTC and receive a car, there are taxations you'll have to pay to the government. A car isn't a product that you buy in the local market, there are laws that must be enforced. I doubt that you can buy an electric car by only sending some bitcoins. I have never bought a tesla, I'm just saying.

I guess that's the reason why this is available on US only at the moment.

The bitcoin price will include all taxes, fees and delivery charges which Tesla will pay in fiat.  Not so hard to do.

I see Michael Taylor and Elon Musk too desperate for the BTC to rise, they are playing with people to make their investments grow, very careful this is going to end ugly in my opinion.

Great now the company is officially investing in bitcoin because I guess they will just hold the bitcoin payment they received in the company. It doesn't actually make sense accepting bitcoin and then just selling it. For sure the market price would change from time to time because the market is volatile. We know Elon Musk is an influential man in the cryptocurrency community and for sure we could expect that his tweets are just some types of hype but I guess it's great to see progress to this where other companies could potentially adapt bitcoin as well like Tesla.

Yes, this is the meaning of real adoption, keeping bitcoins without converting to fiat reflects Elon Musk's vision of adopting bitcoin, the rest of the company has accepted bitcoin as an additional method of payment, and some businessmen are only speculating as for Elon Musk, he is taking the path of real adoption of Bitcoin, and this will certainly be his Huge positive impact on Bitcoin.

Its such a big move and this is why people love Elon Musk. As the person behind Tesla, he himself announced what will be his moves regarding the Bitcoin and Tesla connection. This shows that they are ready to cater those Crypto-Millionaires and other people that is gaining their income through Cryptocurrencies. Elon likes to stay ahead of his competitors but its really hardly a competition when no one is following his footsteps in doing something better about it.

I agree with you. Elon Musk is being a real visionary. I admire what he is doing for bitcoin adoption and now even more as I saw he isn't going to convert btc to fiat from Tesla's sales. It's a good signal he truly worries about bitcoin's success, not seeing this only as a marketing strategy or a speculative scheme to make fast profit and exit.
By doing this he is helping the crypto community to grow larger and of course, helping bitcoin investors to increase their investments in value, as btc should go up with good news like this.

What a really nice news when it comes to adoption. Its good that Tesla is now accepting Bitcoin which is a good move and hopefully other companies would do it as well.
Somehow the price havent been reacting with this kind of news or fundamentals which im not really that much off surprise and what i do like the most into those
words that they wont really be making out conversions from bitcoin to fiat which does signifies that he isnt really just going for short term investment.

He do go for long term.Imagine a big company like this would really risk out their sales profit in forms of bitcoin?

Although trying to get the same results on the US based website, and even setting the VPN to a US city, I currently cannot see the bitcoin payment option, even on the same model of car. Perhaps they’re still making adjustments, or I missed something.

I get the same thing...no bitcoin option.

It works for me on all models, once I configured it and get to the payment I do have card and BTC options, works with every model apart from the top model S, which has a mid-2022 delivery.
And yeah, I'm using a VPN as I'm not in the US.

What I like about Elon Musk is that he believes in bitcoin as a currency and not like some other public figures who see it as an "asset" made for investment where it goes up in value and gives the investor some profit.

He sees it as money and an option to get publicity and profit. At the end of the day, he is no different than the others who have invested in it and helped also with the value going up and offering people ways to invest in and we are the same in the long run. We keep coins to make a profit also, we use it when it's a better option than cash or cards, it's a tool that when used correctly it can be advantageous in both options.
I've stopped a long time ago believing that it will work as a currency alone, as I what fairly obvious I am not doing just that myself.

Now, the interesting part is going to be what bitcoiners will do?
Will they pay with BTC or will they stick to fiat and keep their precious coins in their wallets!?

Although trying to get the same results on the US based website, and even setting the VPN to a US city, I currently cannot see the bitcoin payment option, even on the same model of car. Perhaps they’re still making adjustments, or I missed something.

I get the same thing...no bitcoin option.

It works for me on all models, once I configured it and get to the payment I do have card and BTC options, works with every model apart from the top model S, which has a mid-2022 delivery.
And yeah, I'm using a VPN as I'm not in the US.

VPN appears to be the key. Works for me now.

I want lot more microtransactions with Bitcoin. Like buying gas or something. That's more important.

I completely agree with you on the matter that Micro transactions with btc will be a lot more significant. But if we are to examine society, you will discover that a lot of persons view on btc is that it is an investment choice/option and not something for everyday transaction. The time when people hodling btc will freely use it for their everyday transaction is still far. At the moment, most will only agree to use btc as a payment option for something big.

I like the idea, but it's pretty dumb to buy an overpriced electric car for Bitcoin, if you think about it.

It would be fine if you haven't had to wait a year for your Tesla. If I pay for it now, by the time I get it Bitcoin could be worth 3 times more. What's the point Elon?  Cheesy

Also, I think like the new EURO emissions are made to force people into buying electric cars. I hate what the car market in the EU is becoming.

Point for him, Tesla will continue to accumulate BTC in the long run, as he mentioned that they are not going to convert it to fiat. So another wise move by Elon Musk to somewhat intentionally mentioned it, sort of marketing. And if someone will read it, he might swayed to buy his car with their precious bitcoin knowing that he is very much bullish about it. Win-win for him and his Tesla, very smart Elon!!
