If you could give a range where the fee falls within , between x and y ....
Doing so would be meaningless. It depends entirely on the mempool at the time and the characteristics for your transaction.

If you look at data from the last year, a reasonable fee rate has ranged from between 1 sat/vbyte and 300 sats/vbyte
Given that a 1-input-1-output transaction could be as low as 140 vbytes, and a large consolidation transaction could be as high as 5000 vbytes or more, then your fee ranges falls between 140 sats and several million sats, which gives a range of between 7 cents and hundreds of dollars at current prices. As I said, completely meaningless.

A typical fee rate today is ranging from around 7 to 20 sats/vbyte. How much that works out to in total depends on the transaction you are making. As mentioned above, just visit https://mempool.space/ at the time you are making a transaction and read their fee estimates.

Instead of guessing which the fee falls within, there's a tool that you can use to calculate the fee, this Bitcoin Fee Calculator is a simple tool that shows a chart with current mempool transactions ordered by fee value.  You can use the suggested fee and there's a given estimated time and depend on the mempool current status.

And I tend to agree with the comment above of this post, as you can see on the link that I was given, it's typically ranging at this time around 7 to 17 sats/vbyte and you can see the total of mempool transitions including the number of transactions and the amount of fee they paid.

It seems to me that the minimum fee is pretty high so only interesting for sending bigger amounts ..

Fees was just fine all weekend and you could send any amount of bitcoins for below 10 sat/vbyte and that is currently below one dollar value, so that means 5 dolars and 5 million dollars would both pay around $0.5 fee.

What are the typical fees for sending BTC ?

There are no typical fees, but you can watch bitcoin mempool for estimated fee or you can check out median fee before sending any bitcoin.

Try Electrum desktop bitcoin wallet or blockchain.com online wallet. These two are my very best bitcoin wallets when it comes to managing my bitcoin transaction fees because they would allow you to set your bitcoin transaction fees that you are willing to pay based on the current bitcoin transaction fees. Sometimes I prefer Electrum wallet more because I can set my transaction fees to the very minimum.

Just a little warning, before you suggest Electrum as a wallet with the lowest fees. A while back, I was in a hurry and I chose the highest fees in the fee settings and it turned out to be a massive mistake. I did not check the actual Fiat value and I paid $1000 in fees at the highest setting.

Make sure you convert the fee from the btc value to the fiat value, before you click on "Ok" ....it might be much more than what you thought it might be. (I did check the value at the lowest selection and just assumed that the value would still be low at the highest selection.... and it was not low at all)  Roll Eyes

Electrum is a great wallet and it supports SegWit... but you have to convert the value of the suggested fees to Fiat to see how much it will be.  Sad

Or forget the whatever the suggestions they offer and set the fees yourself, as low as 1 sat/vB if you're spending many UTXOs (or otherwise trying to send a heavy transaction) and aren't in a hurry.

4.5 sat/vB right now. Sure, gotta look at mempool traffic first, just threw it to give an idea how cheap transactions get to be when traffic is smaller. I bet even at 10 sat/vB whatever his transaction was the final fee would have been a hell of a lot more palatable.

I guess it doesn't depend on the wallet. By the way, most wallets offer you settable fees, like Ownr I use.
