I just had a call with the people at Chetu, the developers I'm going to employ. They said they could get it done within five months for $30,000! I thought it was going to be like half a million dollars.

Just be careful! You get what you pay for...

I read that one of the disadvantages of DEXs is complicated UI/UX, this makes newbies and basic users run away from it or end up being scammed. If you can replicate what CEXs have in their front end, it will be a win for amateur users.

This is (for now at least) a solo project. I have been trading crypto for almost a decade, but my tech skills are pretty basic. However, I think that can end up being a good thing, because the problem with having a tech wizard make a DEX is they tend to assume everyone else is a wizard too, and so the UX ends up being way too complicated.

I have never experienced this, but it seems that a statement of yours is valid. When a team is made up of all techy people, they'll end up designing the UX like takes, but a basic programmer could understand and implement the basics things that would be missing.

So LimeChain got back to me and told me to wait until early January for the estimate. I'll post here again when they next contact me.

Did you have any luck with this? If things move forward that's awesome!

Just incase things feel stalled - since we're working on something somewhat similar - I'm open to connect and be a sounding board or offer general advice based on our learnings.
