 Huh

I have an incoming transaction that I did not receive. the company is LetsExchange.io

Quote
They wrote to me and said
We sent funds to your address 12GWxyzArz5oSRmNsrTMQfjnYKbkoJKPjg and it was successful. Your funds are on your balance.
You can see your transaction by clicking on the link:
http://explorer.btcd.io/#/tx?loading=true&tx=7a91f9c2f91c8a9751406652f2b42a4e1eb745479ecc9aa920a8727c2fadebcc

according to https://www.blockchain.com/ no funds were sent. my complaint remains the same. i have not revived my transaction;

why and how  is the information between explorer.btcd.io and  www.blockchain.com different.

thanks

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Bitcoin Diamond (BCD) is a (hard) fork of Bitcoin that happened at block #495866. Blockhain.com allows you to explore the following blockchains: Bitcoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash. Since what you're looking for is BCD, you need to use an explorer that actually looks trough the blockchain of such coin else you won't find any tangible results (thus resulting in different information).
If we access your address[1] on the mentioned explorer - explorer.btcd.io - we actually see that the address received around 95 BCD on 19th January. Are you sure of your claims? The amount hasn't moved so far, so perhaps you could double check your account/address?

What wallet are you currently using to receive BCD? If you are using an Exchange wallet then you have a slim chance to get these fork coins.
But if you are using a wallet that generates a mnemonic seed then you have a chance that you can recover this coin.

And take note it's not a BTC but if you want to exchange it to BTC then there is a guide here created by LoyceV on how to get those fork coins. Check the link below
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2836875.0

Then transfer it again to exchanges where you can able to trade it to BTC. Check the list of exchanges that support this coin here https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin-diamond#markets

i am using "Electrum" as my wallet. my goal was to receive bitcoin. Just so I am clear with the information that I received here in the forum.  BCD is not Bitcoin? The address 12GWxyzArz5oSRmNsrTMQfjnYKbkoJKPjg that I generated was a Bitcoin address. I do not have a BCD account. I only have a Bitcoin account.  So... Long story short... the fund as far as I am concerned is lost forever?

According to their native block explorer, you have received 94.818786 BCD: explorer.btcd.io/#/address?loading=true&address=12GWxyzArz5oSRmNsrTMQfjnYKbkoJKPjg
However, Electrum is a Bitcoin [BTC] wallet not a Bitcoin Diamond [BCD] wallet.

The good news is, you can export that address' private key from the addresses tab and import it to a BCD Electrum wallet;
Here are the steps:
  • First, enable the 'Addresses' tab by using the menu "View->Show Addresses", then go to that tab.
  • Find "12GWxyzArz5oSRmNsrTMQfjnYKbkoJKPjg" among the list and right-click on it.
  • Select "Private key" and its private key should be displayed after typing the password, copy it.
  • Download "Electrum BCD" from this link: www.bitcoindiamond.org/download/
  • Open it, create a wallet but select "Import BitcoinDiamond addresses or private keys" when prompted for the wallet type, paste the private key and finish creating the wallet.

Download "Electrum BCD" from this link: www.bitcoindiamond.org/download/
I never trust Fork wallets on my normal system (it might include malware). A VM is safer.

Not many exchanges accept BCD. If you want Bitcoin you'll need to send it back and exchange it, but depending on the exchange withdrawal fees might be high. In that case withdrawing a low-fee altcoin and going through a low-fee instant exchanger saves you about $15.

Warning: before doing this, it's probably wise to read up a bit and understand what you're doing before doing it. You've made a big mistake that might still be salvageable. You may not be that lucky next time.
