Free transactions: What's the catch?

I personally don't expect too much to get free fee for transaction,  except such as an internal transfet done in exchanges or between exchanges.
But. To get low fee transaction,  it is very interesting.  The coins like said above and others commonly also offer low fee for transfering and these can be used for alternatives when transferring.
