They are definitely popular, but Avirunes is right about trust. BetCoin is involved in probably the most popular scam story with the jackpot. However, the owners are now different people, and the website has been working on regaining trust and reputation. As for Nitrogensports, it's also a pretty popular website, but there are two red flags for their official bitcointalk account. I'm not sure about that continuous development because most of their changes came from their casino side like the slots, blackjack, etc.

The only big development i've seen on their sportsbook was the UI rework and the esports upgrade since they're able to get Ultraplay which provides the best esports markets.
