Gane at around the 1.90 odds is an absolute steal. I honestly thought he would've been a 1.50/1.60 favourite going into this fight. If you think about it, Ngannou is definitely a scary opponent, but really all he should have over Gane is his power.

In any case, let me draw inspiration from some of my favorite boxers, such as Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, and others, who all dominated the globe with their powerful hands. I don't want to get into specifics, but I believe Francies will knock Ciryl out in the third round.

We could see a fight between WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and Nagannou after the Jan 22 bout, according to Francies Nagannou, who is ready to accept Fury's challenge. It's over the social media do you have any idea?

Francis knows he won't be able to beat Tyson Fury in a boxing match 9 times out of 10. So, he's proposed MMA rules, but with boxing gloves which pretty much means it'll never happen. I do want to see them in the ring together, and who knows Fury might be wild enough to want to get into the cage, which would be interesting. Realistically though, I don't see it happening.

Did you miss the end of Francies' tweet? Champ stated that he is willing to face Fury in any condition, with or without gloves, in the ring or in the cage! Never saw them in person but I personally loved watching muay Thai in my youth, and my favourite fights were shorter fist-heavy fighters (in a sport where boxing is probably the least-favoured method) taking on barrage of kicks and elbows to close in and submit with fists.

^^Just watched some bits of the video, and yeah, I can definitely get some enjoyment from most of the clips. It still feels a little bit different from the muay Thai I used to watch a lot in my youth, but maybe everything just looks better up close, with that damn eerie music playing during the fights. Sight and smell do a lot for the game.

Missing (I feel) from all the clips are aerial battles, which leads me to ask/wonder if opponents are allowed to use the cage to leverage?

UFC 270 happening this weekend for the first main event of the year with championship title on the line.
After all the hype videos came out early enough into the year showing the two sparring and Francis getting knocked out by Ciryl I wondered why they did
But then saw this article from one of the mma stories they ran:

The two practiced in the same gym in France so it was obvious they would be interacting with each other in those training days.

I've heard different rumours. That Gane knockout down Ngannou with a body shot. Dont know whom should we believe. Ngannou boasting that he KOed Gane, or rumours. People often say they have knockout this and that guy in the sparing, because it is hard to refute that. I think that their coach is the only one who knows the truth. Honestly, hard to believe that he really KOed Gane, as in the leaked sparing video Gane looks better and his strikes are more accurate. I predict that Ngannou will get tired and it will be a win by decision ok TKO in late rounds by Gane.

It was all just to create hype and something to talk about in this fight since they do not have any rivalry really going on.

Figueiredo says Moreno betrayed Henry Cejudo when Moreno helped Joseph Benavidez prepare for his fight with Henry Cejudo.

Figueiredo says this while training at arizona combat sports which is Henry Cejudo and his brothers MMA gym.

Francis Ngannou defeats Ciryl Gane via knockout/TKO

If Deiveson Figueiredo can get his weight cutting issues solved, I think he will beat Brandon Moreno.

Brandon Moreno has very good cardio, that is his strength which aligns with Figueiredo's weakness which is cutting weight and endurance.

But it is hard to say who has the advantage there since Figueiredo's weight cut was very bad for the 2nd fight.

I watched the press conference and I see there is a lot of history between Ngannou - Gane and I was not aware of that.
Both of them can understand each other very well and I think they speak French language, they had more training camps together and they know each other well.
I think the winner will be the one with the right mind set, but this is must watch event nobody should miss if they love MMA.

Nobody is talking about co-main event Brandon Moreno vs Deiveson Figueiredo but this can be more interesting to watch than main event.
I see there is Khabib cousin Said Nurmagomedov fighting in this card against Cody Stamann, and Matt Frevola is fighting in prelims, so don't miss that.

Thanks for yet another answer to the question I've been asking a lot as someone still new to MMA and in UFC I haven't been able to find out for certain despite responses above.

Was sure someone here would be able to point me to the rules clarifying this but I guess it's different for UFC and other types of MMA? The allowed use of the cage for height momentum to me seems logical, great to know, feels like I need to watch more to understand why not more people use it!

Anyway, let's hope we get some all-the-way fights that get us some new cage scenes

Ngannuo is the type of fighter who doesn't let losses get into his head or wins get into his heart; he takes fight after fight. Ciryl is quite good with his leg and head work, but Ngannaou's major upsets come from his power hand.

I stuck to my original pick even though the hype therefore odds kept dropping for a Ciryl win.
I've posted videos of Ngannou through out the entire time upon the buildup to the fight.
He was just too much of a powerhouse to go against at anytime and his focus was not to be ignored.

Went with an Ngannou win and was only off by not having it end early as the odds for that to happen were 1.33x just before the fight. As everybody thought there would be a knock out from either of these heavyweights.

As for Tyson Fury. I did Francis in a few videos getting boxing tips from Mike Tyson circulating around so he just might move his skills over to the boxing ring if Mr. Dana White doesn't up his paygrade as a true champion, as this fight without a doubt has shown the world.

A few tips here and there from any experts will not make any drastic changes to the technical striking of Francis Ngannou, i am sure he will be able to beat many Heavyweight boxers simply because of his power, but if he is planning to face Tyson Fury who is a technical wizard, there is no way he is going to land a punch.

Even against Ciryl Gane he was not able to land any punch on the feet, only with his takedowns he was able to dominate him. Forget landing anything near the face of Tyson Fury . Technically Tyson Fury is far superior than any boxers and his muscle memory is there from a small age and Francis Ngannou who learned boxing after 24 years could somehow scratch with him is ridiculous. Stick to MMA and fight non elite boxers, he could win against them for sure.

Even won a small outlay on this to go all the way, which it certainly did. My money had always been flagging on for Gane, but his odds kept improving, so the value for me did not, ended up pocketing some decent change on Ngannou, instead of withdrawing I now more than doubled that change (yay).

Doubling up is a good thing in the UFC cause the matches can not last more than 25 minutes when it comes to 5 rounder like the Gane vs Ngannou one did, so your good there.
I had Francis at 2.29 but it did reach all the way up to 2.32 so those who got him at this price were laughing after the third round where he was just dominating Cyril and rode on to a win after that.

Don't think anyone got the way the main event was going to end(to go the distance) except for buwaytress.
I would imagine it was at around 3.60x. Well that is from what I recall it being to one point in the day.
