Sorry for my bad English first

I've been 6 years in Prison, i remember that, in sometimes at 2010, I install a faucet btc website or some app to my laptop, because they say to get free money with click claim, and they paid with some type of crypto money. At that time, i did not have any knowledge about crypto money.
In my poor memory, that app display with a banner on top of my laptop screen, the banner always stay there when active. The icon is a 8bit - tiny man. Every 10-20 minutes, i must to click something Claim or Ads.... to confirm still online.

Now, i lost that laptop, i lost everything after prison days. Yesterday, i just restore my email at 2010's time, a yahoomail. but everymail of yahoo have all been deleted because it have not been used in a long time.

I just want to ask everyone that:
-how can I find that faucet or that app, to login and take some coin, in case they are always there.
-do someone identified that app with my describe? the name or the link of it? whether it still works or not?

Please help my poor life, need some information from forum! thanks much my friends

The oldest faucet that is still running today is Freebitco.in but it was founded in 2013. There was one by Gavin Anderson in 2010 but it's no longer operational and it wasn't an app either: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/6vsmyu/the_original_bitcoin_faucet_used_to_give_away_5/

I don't know if the story is true or not, because as I usually say I don't believe everything I read in forums but trying to recover some coins from 2010 when the fellow barely remembers anything seems to me mission impossible.

OP, try to move forward and in any case try to earn some coins nowadays.

It may be still recoverable, but what your relying on is that the faucet website is still up, and running which is probably unlikely. So, a good idea would be to try, and crawl through the services section, service announcements, and micro earnings section (something that long ago may have not been moved to the correct section though) to see if you can find the faucet, and if its still running. It might not even be posted on this forum, but I would say there's a high chance that is was, considering this was pretty much one of the only advertising outlets around that time.

Worth considering, even if the faucet does still exist, they've likely probably had various different changes, and probably doesn't have the same interface. So, this might be a pretty difficult task. Your going to have to bruteforce it though if you can't remember the name. Hoping that you come across the website which triggers your memory. There's nothing else that can be done.

I also believe this is a mission impossible.
1) You don't remember the faucet name or logo.
2) The chance that the faucet is up and running is slim.
3) Even if the site is still working, with the current price of the market no faucet will want to pay you the total amount of BTC you claimed back then.

I think if you truthfully then you should make a clearer, if you had been in prison for Six years then from 2010 uptill now is eleven years, which mean using normal year counting and not prison year counting, you went in 2015, don't know how powerful your memory is but a you should be clearer in what you want to know about.

faucet are popularly turning out to be scam, you must have heard of the price and it's making you desperate. I think you shouldn't rely on that, you would only get depressed, have a fresh crypto-currency beginning.

I did a small research and it appears the comments above are right. The only faucet that existed back in 2010 was "The Bitcoin Faucet" which used to give up to 5 btc. It stopped operating in early 2011 and is no longer accessible. So, even if it's the faucet you're looking for and you somehow manage to remember your login credentials, there is no way to claim your coins.
It's a website faucet not an app, btw.

Are you sure you are looking for a crypto faucet and not just a regular Pay-Per-Click app that pays in $ ?

Assuming your story is even 10% true. I researched a bit on the oldest faucets started which paid payments in bitcoin the oldest I could find was one listed here in this announcement thread:

Quote
For my first Bitcoin coding project, I decided to do something that sounds really dumb:  I created a web site that gives away Bitcoins.   It is at: https://freebitcoins.appspot.com/

Five ฿ per customer, first come first served, I've stocked it with ฿1,100 to start.  I'll add more once I'm sure it is working properly.

Why?  Because I want the Bitcoin project to succeed, and I think it is more likely to be a success if people can get a handful of coins to try it out.  It can be frustrating to wait until your node generates some coins (and that will get more frustrating in the future), and buying Bitcoins is still a little bit clunky.

Please try it out and get some free coins, even if you already have more Bitcoins than you know what to do with.  You can get some and then donate them right back; the address is: 15VjRaDX9zpbA8LVnbrCAFzrVzN7ixHNsC

Here is the link to the post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=183.msg1488#msg1488

As mentioned it was by Gavin Andreson and it paid 5 BTC per faucet claim.

But here is the link to the web archive of the homepage and apparently it doesn't matches a lot with the description you are saying. Here it is:

Honestly speaking even if you are too lucky that you find the faucet and luckily the faucet is still live I doubt they would have safely kept these huge loads of BTC in an 11-year-old dormant account. They would just be visible to you as a number and I doubt you would be able to withdraw them ever.

Upon reading your story, it's hard to know what faucet you've used by that time and if ever those faucets that were said are true. You cannot get your balance from there.

I've used faucets before but not earlier as you did and we're required to put a bitcoin address which where the bitcoin will be sent after clicking those ads or puzzles solved.

The chances that you'll get any balance from that app/faucet you've used before is very little to no chance. Because as said by the others, it's likely to have been closed for years already.

According OPs description: "that app display with a banner on top of my laptop screen" it was some kind of surfbar rather than faucet.

@OP Try google (or forums about online earnings) and search for surfbars operational around 2010 ... you might recall the logo or name when you see it.
Honestly, I doubt such site would still operate and if so your account will be probably frozen or deleted due to inactivity.
I can imagine back in 2010 people were earning whole bitcoins doing such tasks ... at current prices quite a fortune.
Wish you good luck.

Ten years is such a long time and if you don't have private keys on wallets where you store your coins and you will just rely on websites your chances are zero, faucets usually change their script and delete inactive members and change their rules from time to time even if the site is still online, you cannot ask them to give you your earnings if they are not willing as they have control of their TOS, I don't have ideas of that old faucet the oldest faucet I've joined was way back 2014.

There are a lot of faucets that have disappeared in the past 10 years. I think retrieval is impossible at the moment, accounts are inactive for a long time, they will be locked. Above all, the amount at that time was very small in the past but it is a very large asset now, they will be greedy and don't want to pay.

10 years is definitely a lost cause. You have to start over I'm afraid

There used to be some Bitcoin purchasing service I got mine from during that time. Now the domain has become part of some adult video site.

Welcome from prison

We are in 2021 now the BTC you claimed in year's ago is now worth above $55k for 1btc, every free bitcoins claim ended in 2012 when bitcoin started to gain value, the website your looking for right now is probably offline by now.sorry.

I dont believe in fairy tales so probably it's close 100% impossible. 10years long is quite a different scenario from what you have experience mate. Like other's said possible that the faucet you are working before is now close or if not maybe different name now. The only thing you can do is definitely move on.

If only you could send some pictures of those faucet might be trigger something from it. Or at least the whole name so we can identify and know what happened to that platform.

@khaled0111 may right about it is not a crypto faucet, where it is a pay per click service, as much I recall, there is a lot of pay per click services all over before, but I am not sure which of them are started to use Bitcoin as a payment method.
So, for OP, my advice is start to look such pay per click website or platforms before that is started also to pay Bitcoin for their customers and you can 1 by 1 check them and find the "lost password" or "reset password by email" and type your old yahoo email address.

I've been 6 years in Prison
I really feel you should have left off this detail, its really unnecessary and could result in you or ahouldbi say, your user being stigmatised. The group is all about learning,  gaining insight and helping people with actual problems solve there issues if there is a way to it. Anyway,

I don't really get the idea of the app in question, apparently you started crypto long before me and until you got a few years of your life stolen form you. So sorry about that but then, without a private key, all could be lost but then, its most likely not to be the case as I don't know of wallets to conduct mining. So, your best chance is with your recalling what app could that be, hope its not fraudulent and is still active. That way, there could be some light to the situation and you've got to hope the way to claiming the coin is still valid.

Unfortunately, it happened that way but try and let go of it. Trying to gain access back to your ten years old crypto faucet will be damn difficult cos they might be in nonexistence now. You have been out of access to it for a very time now, and Crypto requires steady follow-up of information not to miss the train.
You should move on and forget about the crypto faucet totally

Unfortunately, you might not be able to get back what is lost but, you don't have to let yourself go too. You've got a second chance with life. There is a saying that life goes on and as such, you have other opportunities to exploit and keep your sanity. If it ain't working, seek a therapist.

To make your search easier, try to remember the name of the site, then try the forget the password option to use the email address to recover the account. This seems mission impossible, but that’s the only option you get.

I am sorry to say, but there is a ZERO possibility to recover your very old faucet site or apps. It's hard to believe that time you used faucet apps and even you can't remember the software name. That's the reason why we should write all of our wallet and account credentials in a notebook. So once a time it would help us to recover something we need. I doubt even your faucet site still live since it has more than 10 years and many sites are already gone. I believe you just wasting your time to find old funds in this case as you mentioned above. Better to concentrate on some other things that would improve your life. But if you don't want to give up, then continue. Who knows if you are the lucky person in the world.
