The internet depends on how one uses it, with all kinds provided, regardless of making someone lazy or not, it comes back to the user. the internet is just a tool to make it easier for someone to do something. What used to be your job writing on paper, can now be easily typed. that's a simple example.

Internet is just a piece of digitalization we are experiencing now and this is just an effect of having a more modern technology day by day and how the businesses and governments are implementing in into the society. Now we are seeing people used in offices and we have seen it involve through this pandemic where a lot of the company's work force are on a work from home setup showing that both the internet and other equipment make it possible that employees can work even without going to their offices.

Lazy might be another word but I think the best word for it is "more convenient" E-commerce was something that bloom and now we are seeing malls and supermarkets empty as they can now do their shopping through their mobile phones. People want this as a lot of people value their time and online shopping made it possible that they can save their time by shopping online.

The internet has changed society in a lot of ways, but I think being lazy is not one of them. In terms of commerce I think society has changed in two major ways:

1) People have become more demanding regarding the offered range of products: Back in brick and mortar times one would simply buy what was available, no questions asked. Nowadays customer expect a much wider range of products to choose from than would even be possible in classical retail.

2) Increased acceptance of non-physical goods: Game downloads, streaming services, even purely cosmetic virtual goods. The existence of the internet and electronics as a whole is an alternative and trading business selling/buying for now, of course, will make it easier for both parties to make buying/selling transactions.

But all of this has a positive and negative impact on the reality that many consumers feel.

Judging from most of my surroundings - yes, the Internet has made people extremely lazy (physically). Up to the point when the person is lazy enough to go to the grocery store, which is in the same house he lives in! Instead, he chooses and orders food online.

On the other hand, Internet has also opened opportunities for other sorts of work, which resulted in people working and studying even more, than they used to in the past. For instance, years ago people would come home from work and relax, watch TV, play cards, or whatever. You're absolutely right about this. In the past, when the potentials of the internet has not been explored, it could only be used to send emails and not do so many things. Now, with time, we have been able to stay in the comfort of our home and shop for goods. Does this make us lazy? I'd say no. Why should we stick to the old method of doing things if there's a better way? Why should we stress ourselves if there's a way that provides comfort.

One of my professor once told me about one of the essence of research and it was for the convenience of everyone. Knowing that internet and technology are fruits of millions or billions of research just to make it effective, we can already say that the internet offers convenience and revolution towards our old ways. Indeed the internet makes things instant until everyone just lives at home. This makes humans unhealthy because they don't do activities such as walking to the market. That's  part of things I don't really like doing on the internet... I mean constantly exposing your private info and things you buy on the internet to online stores (and people) who would end up knowing where you live. That's is alot of sensitive information to expose to people you don't know much about. It's abit strange that societies allowed this.
I think a proper decentralized p2p cryptocurrency with privacy/anonymity features could help in this regards without compromising on the security of a society.

The internet is not making you lazy, it’s up to you on whether you’re going to be lazy or not. It’s just the same with most things that we have these days, they are made to help make life easier, but bad people are always looking for ways to misuse them for the wrong purpose. So in the case of whether internet is making us lazy in terms of what buying and selling has changed to, I would say No, because it’s actually providing us with more time to get things done.

There are a lot of us that are very busy that we need more time to either work or carry out some other activities, and now we can get that extra time, instead of running out to go to the market , we can now make the orders of all the things that we need from online stores and have it delivered to our doorsteps, and by doing that we have saved time and accomplished more.

It all depends on the upbringing of a person and his personal qualities, which affect the perception of the environment and the way in which a person builds his life and what goals in life he is trying to achieve. there is a category of people who live on welfare, order pizza with the help of a messenger and spend the whole day in front of a TV or computer.
