I actually had the same story as OP, i first heard about it when i was like 16 years old in 2009, it just popped up on my youtube feed a video explained bitcoin in simple terms i think its still avaible on the net. The reason it caught my interest was because of the fact that i was a conspiracy theory guy who watched alex jones and knew about the bilderberg group. It creeped me out that the banks had so much control and that politicans from many countries met under secret circumstances each year. It was also at the time of the financial crisis and my distrust of banks and fiat money started when i understood how fiat money is not inherently valuable and can be printed and manipulated easily. One bitcoin was not worth anything lol but there were people speculating on the future price, which at the time sounded too good to be true, i was helping the anonymous guys ddos visa and paypal because of their sanction on wikileaks and once i saw that wikileaks accepted bitcoin i recognized that bitcoin was something else, it was a revolutionary idea that the government could not stop which sparked my interest. However i did not have any money so i did not intend to buy bitcoin but 2013 Cyprus and greek had alot of economic issues and at that time the price spiked from 300 to 1000 usd in some months i was like 19 years old by then and invested in 1 bitcoin when it was worth 300 usd. I remember saying to my dad to put like 50. 000 SEK on bitcoin (5000 usd) but he did not trust me. 2014 the price collapsed alot of people had "lost" their money i actually remeber seeing bitcoin a lost cause and was happy that my father did not invest money in it haha. I had also lost faith in crypto because of the fact that there were so many shitcoins and altcoins (especially ones that did not bring any value to the table) that it annoyed me and destroyed my vision for bitcoin. Fast forward to 2016 and 2017 i was studying and the price increased alot by then i was planning to invest but i was studying in another city with rent and cost of living to pain i had no invesment money. Now we are in 2021 i am in a finally in a stable position to buy some coins(not whole coins im not rich lol) and im planning to invest monthly in cryptocurrencies again . I wonder what the future lies in store of us ahead. Bitcoin really has made life more exciting just by watching this project unfold. I think cryptocurrency will be to money what internet was for data. Heard in 2007 First bought in 2017
Bro the bitcoin project launched 2009 lol

I first heard of Bitcoin in 2014 or 2015 I guess. And I started using it after 2 years. So I can't say that I'm one of the very early adopters. But considering many people newly started learning about it, I'm much earlier than them.

How long did it take you to jump on the Bitcoin bandwagon?
I first heard about Bitcoin in 2009 I first used Bitcoin in 2013
Took me 4 years!
What about you?
I first heard Bitcoin in 2010 but I have no intention of investing. Until 2017 a friend of mine got rich quickly thanks to Bitcoin and shared his experience with me. It took me quite a long time 7 years. That makes me regret why I didn't know and invested Bitcoin earlier. Since then, it has been 4 years since I entered the world of money to crypto.

Hello everybody. I can't say exactly when I first heard about Bitcoin. But I remember exactly. When I decided to check the speed of buying Bitcoin and returning money to fiat, it was in the spring of 2017. I really liked the speed of transactions - since then I have been here.

Luckily I know Bitcoin. In 2018 I knew Bitcoin through my grandchildren. My nephew got rich by investing in Bitcoin. I started to learn and found Bitcoin to be the most profitable without any higher areas. Without waiting, I immediately joined Bitcoin. Now I am very satisfied with my decision.

How long did it take you to jump on the Bitcoin bandwagon? I heard about Bitcoin back in 2012 when the market started to rally and then i immediately fired up the full node and started mining and when the block erupter started to emerge i was purchasing them in large quantities and purchased those using Bitcoin and the obsession of mining started during that period until i took a break a few years ago.

I first heard about BTC around 2015. then just tried to join the faucet at that time because I was still afraid of the risks. Then around 2016, my friend invited me to seriously pursue btc trading. then starting 2017 seriously join airdrop and bounty until now.
many valuable experiences, and I also made a lot of new friends from this ecosystem. really fun, even though the way is not easy. often lose, get caught in a scam, etc., but it is experience and lessons.

I first heard about bitcoin by a friend of mine in my university years. I didn't know much about what happened back then. It was 2016. I was constantly asking what is bitcoin, what does bitcoin do, and how do you buy and sell it? Later, I read a news about bitcoin mining and then I first made my research in this field and entered this market. I've been in this market ever since.

I identify with some of your comments as seriously thinking about investing in bitcoin in 2017. It also took me a while, my preference was always ethereum. But today the cryptocurrency market is different, although the risk is present, there is a better chance of winning at least $ 100 for saying some amount.
Now I invest in bitcoin, ethereum, and other altcoin. As Elon Musk once said in a tweet: "It was inevitable." That we can attribute it to the fact that sooner or later bitcoin and cryptocurrencies will be part of our lives. This is what will happen shortly when the massive adoption arrives.

I heard about bitcoin by November 2016 and i did my first bitcoin transaction by january 2017 and I must tell you, it was a great deal for me. It came as a means offpayment and as such had no effect not until i researched on it and saw the real intrinsic value of it. i am happy i got in at that time.

Oh boy, this is a good one. I actually went on my Google Activity logs, and searched for "bitcoin" to get some actual dates. - First Google search was in 14 Nov 2014, I was 14 years old. - On 15 Nov 2014, I was searching: "Mining bitcoin android fast" *facepalm* I suggest you all to go on your google activity thingy and look it up for bitcoin or something, results might be even funnier than mine EDIT: Forgot to state when I actually started using bitcoin. Apart from faucets, unfortunately, only last year I really started to dig into crypto. Better late than never. https://imgur.com/TUejctWhttps://imgur.com/HA8CMyz

I first heard of Bitcoin in 2012 and neglected it. I had a comfirmation of it's increasing value in 2014 and still proved adamant. I finally gave it a thought in 2019 and bought my first coin in 2020. I waisted enough time because I didn't believe the system all along. There is no lateness in investment all the same . The goal is taking advantage of the opportunity while it last

I first heard about Bitcoin way back 2014 but never jump-in as I thought it was scam that time but I use it on 2017. It took me three years to have and use it. I get it through signature payments. Nowadays I never had participated in Bitcoin paying campaigns due to the merit requirements. 😁

I was around 5th grade in 2009 and personal computers isn't still a thing back then but good thing that I have heard of bitcoin when it was around 2015 or 2016 but I didn't dabble with it because I don't know how it works and there isn't a lot of people that are using it and many thought that it was a fad that will get old quickly. 2017 was when I first had my use of it and I was happy that I did because I made some money out of it.

I can't remember exact dates or even a period of time, but I'd like to think I got into Bitcoin as soon as I heard about it. I can't really remember. However, I do remember I was looking for an alternative for Paypal, and payment processors at the time, and that's how I stumbled upon Bitcoin. So, I probably got into it in a short period of time after happening upon it.
I wish I had a clearer recollection, but I don't think it was of any significance upon discovery, I do remember being pretty new to the concept of cryptocurrencies, and not having a clue. So, it definitely took me a while to actually get up to speed with things.
I think the main difference with new people coming into crypto/Bitcoin now and 10 years ago is exactly this. People used to learn and pick up Bitcoin because they were looking for alternatives of money. Like you. Now, people are coming not to use it but to "become rich". Not that it's wrong to do that but I think a lot of people aren't really interested in using it now...
