Isn't this just basically funding a team (buying their share) then mostly if they have many wins you profit as well but not always a double of your profit?? That's what I can understand with both gambling with sports integrated with their "stocks". Also, I think it isn't really different with sports betting. I mean sports betting's profit is way higher (depending on the odds) than buying one's shares right? Lastly, there are already fan-based tokens like ACM. If they would only make it like that, then I guess it would be more onto trading than to betting.

I agree with you, any new platform that opens up in 2021 or later should include crypto currencies. BTCs are used already with many sites, but it would be nice if all the common alt coins could be accepted too. The more payment methods are accepted the more new members would sign up. And for a stock exchange to be effective it needs many traders. Without them there wouldn't be many bid and ask prices, creating a big spread and not being efficient.

If you are into this kind of stuff then I think fantasy leagues are probably more attractive to you anyway given the fast action and well established nature of the operations there. If you want to bet on real leagues, then I think most people still prefer the traditional sportsbook model where your payoffs are clear.

Where the value for these "stocks" derives from is very unclear at this stage, unlike a bet which is simply a liability that the sportsbook has to pay if a certain outcome is reached.

The platform (beta) is not yet live and there's no ETA when is the inception so information is limited for now.

But I think there will be no integration of crypto during the first phase but surely it will be considered if there are tons of requests or suggestions by their community. I agree that adding crypto can attract, at least, a good number of crypto-gamblers lurking in crypto-sports betting for long.

If they can do it in a correct way, possibly the platform will see success. But again, a lot depends on execution actually. Since it is a very new type of concept, they will have to select a market to test out the platform. Eventually it can be moved to other markets in future time. I will try to find more info about it because it sounds really interesting for a occasional gambler like me!

Since they are bringing out a new idea they might actually look towards crypto community because honestly speaking as much as I like the idea and the theme, I cannot really see much interest towards this type of gambling.

So basically if I understand correctly we can bet on teams and buy their shares and based on how they perform we will get profits, like that? I mean for example I buy Lakers' (NBA) shares and they perform well during the season, then their share's price will jump, that is my understanding of how it will work. If that's the case though, it is not much different than betting on the outcome of the game itself or maybe call it tournament betting. Unique nonetheless and I might have misunderstood the concept too.

Yes it's about real sports. "The new company will offer users the chance to buy and sell shares on American players and teams"

It's like fantasy football but with some real value added by stocks. I don't know how it's going to work and if it will, but if OP is asking whether this will succeed I'll say that you cannot succeed if you don't try. The owner has thought of something new but with roots in old games because fantasy betting has been here before.

I was reading the news and I was surprised by the team and supporters that it already has, I believe that this project has everything to work, it just needs to be well managed.

This "market" is very receptive to the idea presented and I believe it should attract a lot of attention, I still don't understand how it will work, but I'm looking forward to seeing more news about it and being able to participate if it is really advantageous.

And I hope it doesn't have the same ending as the Football Index.

Let me explain, building a stock market is somehow really expensive. Licenses and regulation requirements are too hard to achieve and take millions of millions of cash on top and under the table. Well, --if this happens, stock market shares would be 90% millennial and above. But perhaps, I would advise cryptocurrency-based- exchange, and then the companies listed are cryptocurrency-based E-Sports games as well. If that’s the case, perhaps everyone would move in. They had to make sure to consider the characteristics of the new generation. And associating two revolutionary industries means domination.

The idea wasn't new but some guy wants to bring it up and making big preparations for it.

A fantasy football which was also released this year failed on creating and establishing a good number of users and later on crashed.

If we are looking at their team, they are professionals and also string team. This is a basic good thing because they must have their research and then consider creating such things as new sportsbooks. However, how succeed or not will also depend on how interesting the sportsbook itself, secure, and also about the use case.
