It’s ridiculous to see that billionaires talk about regulating anything on crypto space where they lose their funds.  Grin Even iron wasn’t a real stablecoin as more likely almost 30% collateral was titan and rest of those was backed by usdc. So, investors started to redeem their titan from iron minting when it was at the ATH and huge sell off create that panic. As a result, everyone got rekt from iron finance. So, there shouldn’t any suggestion/question to regulate stablecoin because of a defi based new so-called stablecoin, IMHO.

Cryptocurrencies are still in the early stages and incidents like this when a coin will lose its total value within a few period of time will continue to happen, and in the long run some sort of regulation is needed to make the crypto market safer, more user/consumer friendly, and more stable.

There were interviews during the pump on March where Mark Cuban minded down the risks of Defi. He was preaching permissionless markets and free markets for everyone. Now he is screaming for regulations hehehe. It might have been better not to larp.

This also is clearly similar for everyone else in the cryptospace until we experience a rugpull or an exploit.

Last night, billionaire investor Mark Cuban said he was “hit” by the sudden collapse of a cryptocurrency called TITAN; the token shed nearly 100% of its value over the course of a few hours.

Now, after losing what he’s characterized as a “small” percentage of his portfolio, he’s calling for increased regulation around stablecoins—a subgroup of cryptocurrencies meant to hold a “stable” value tied to a particular fiat currency.

You have to go through it or experienced it to get the feel of what is like investing in DeFi and the volatility of the market, being a victim of rug pulls before, just glad that I invested a small amount, anything that is to go good to be true needs to be scrutinized these DeFis exploit the greediness of the investors, Cuban case is not an isolated case, scamming and rug pulls have been on us and will continue to be part of the market, your defense is education.

We invest in projects that we want to have guaranteed profit and in order to achieve that we as investors would like to know the people behind the project. To establish trust the developers also make themselves known to their investors. Having a known team with faces on AMA interviews makes the project not decentralized already.
I guess Mark has a  point in making the Defi regulated but it's also going to make it more centralized which like they said it's going to be a CEFI anymore.
