I am no exception of the joy and happiness it brings been merited your very first merit on the forum bitcointalk after series of hardwork and due research in the cryptosphere. Because I feel very very much happy right now beyond bounds because it's just like a dream come true finally. And I have no other way to express my happiness but to come share it with you all, because this is indeed the best forum on platform earth anybody can find his or herself, and I am very grateful to be here and promise to contribute massively to the growth of Bitcoin in the best of my ability...

Come on, no offense but I don't think we can call this hard work.. 32 posts in total out of which 10 are in off-topic, 2 are bounty registrations and the majority of others are quite useless .. There's so much space left for you to grow, merits don't come from bounty registrations or useless posts!

Try to actively participate in the community with some useful stuff if you want merits. Read and learn new stuff about Bitcoin and whenever you see some newbie asking a question you know an answer to, jump in and help. If I were to count all your posts since December, you'd have about 6-7 posts per month.. that's 1, max 2 per week! How do you expect merits to come when you don't even post much at all?

Good luck m8, but I really suggest you to spend more time here if you want to receive some merit

In my opinion, this is not the best way to encourage newcomers, as I think your comment belittles an achievement that he is very proud of. We must educate, not intimidate newcomers.

Congrats. Its bit early but we must encourage those newbies to extend their faith on creating and posting quality post. You are still long way to go, but Im sure with that spirit and confidence you can make merits and rank up in the future.

Just don't mind people that have some negaitve comments on your posting. That's normal that you get corrected and saw some opinions against yours and you'll see a lot of that here in forum. Dont get swayed, I've see some bounty registration on your account but that's fine, I am a hunter too, before but I have found a way to pass that and gain merits. Listening and tryimg to figure out your mistakes is always healthy. Good luck on your journey here.

Welcome to this forum and congratulations for your first merit as well as the rank you have, Jr. member.

With that rank, you can post images but don't upload too much images. Some people with bad internet bandwith will get troubles with images upload and each page with images. If you want to upload images, resize them first.

Merit does not decide your quality or your contributions. Indeed, your contributions and your post quality decide how many merits you will receive.

You're likely not a spammer so please keep up your good works and don't mind much about merit. Merit will find you.

Celebrating your first merit is not that bad especially that you worked hard on it, but think about making more quality posts instead of focusing on gaining merit.

Some newbies are so greedy that they really focus on earning merit without improving the quality of their posts and replies.

Hoping that this will be the edge for you to make informative and pleasing post that will contribute here in this forum.

For the first to get merit, of course it will be a special joy because by being promoted to jr. but you dare to prove that later merit will be easier when you have mastered this forum, it can be said that you contribute fully so that the information given will certainly be of benefit too.

So it's natural from newbie to jr but with hard work and this will motivate you in the future to continue to work fully in this forum and provide extensive insights and debate with relevance with valid information.
I am sure you can do this in front of it to increase your account.

That’s his own prerogative if he wishes to do so, but it is obviously makes his posts completely contrary to being candidates to receiving merits. Not a question of bad luck therefore, but rather more a consequence of the chosen path here.

an outright discouraging post is wrong but I don't see anything wrong with the constructive criticism 20kevin20 gave. 20kevin20 mentioned what OP needs to improve at and what OP needs to do if he wants to earn merit which I think is good for the OP.

Okay, you are completely right. I didn't check his post history and was not informed about that users are only here for some bounties. But even if a user is only posting bounties-posts I would suspect he/she would earn at least one merit - maybe just by accident. The more you post, the more likely it is that you earn a random merit.

I really can't recall what it felt like but I'm sure it felt good to actually get accredited in one of the best way possible of the forum especially as a beginner. Merits could be as well motivating as well as it could be discouraging. When you see or measure how tough it was to get one and the number needed to scale through the ranks especially when it doubles, it becomes very discouraging. On the other hand, it boost your courage when its just a few left. I wish you not to get discouraged on your journey in the forum, be careful enough to read through beneficial articles and comments in the forum and keep finding a way to motivate yourself.
You've got one and its sure to be an attractant for many more to come.

Actually, and interesting retrospective exercise is to revisit one’s own first merited post, especially if you’ve been around for a while. Mine was this one (in Spanish), after about a month and a half on the forum:

The posts have a context given by the thread that should be taken into account, but all in all, revisiting the first meriting post of people is quite interesting to see (I’ve just done so on a few of the profiles on this thread – over the 120 day window timeframe).

Edit: I went ahead and compiled a list of posters on my local board and the first post they were merited for (whichever the board). Interesting retrospective exercise (see: ¿Con qué post obtuviste tu primer mérito Bitcointalk?)

Not if you consider the following things. Bounty hunters don't merit other bounty hunters for the reports they post. They are mostly newbies or Jr. members having only 1 merit, so they can't send any sMerits. Bounty managers of altcoin campaigns will surely not merit bounty reports either. Merit sources and those with huge stashes of merits don't go searching for merit-worthy posts in bounty threads or the altcoin boards in general. That very much limits such users from receiving any merits.
