uh what?

You dont need to "prove" it can hit a block, the proof is in the valid share submission.

Submit enough shares of a certain difficulty over time and you have "proved" your hashrate.

Submit a share higher than the network diff you found a block, simple as that.

Well same as you my position is exactly what you said. Just worded in a different way.

Kano always attacks all btc sha-256 software

He will say you stole it from cgminer and if it clear is not a copy he will say prove it can hit a block.

As I said I am in the USA and you are innocent until proven guilty which means if he wants to complain about blocks he needs to prove it can't hit a block.

Well thats the beauty of Bitcoin, you dont need to trust anyone, just verify. Bitcoin's POW is simple on purpose. Your hardware can either solve SHA256 hashes or it can not.

Sure I can lie about the hashrate on the dashboard, but I cant make up valid shares to a pool unless I am actually performing that work (or I have broken SHA256 which is a possibility, but then your all screwed anyway haha).

Well ckpool for solo accepts share.

and viabtc.com accepts shares. I am pointed at viabtc  and mining pps+

my plan with this machine is to point it at viabtc.com set a high payout and mine and hodl.

Mine is earning coin on viabtc as I type.

And while I did not hit a block on ck solo pool it accepted shares at that pool

The highest was about 110,000,000

glad to see you got one to test.

I cannot wait till we can get one without pre-order. I hate pre-order.

Its a nice unit. Good fit metal case.

If he offers the unit with a 1tb nvme.2 ssd stick take it.

the full chain takes up almost 400 gb of the 500 gb ssd nvme.2 that comes with it.

I will test this with a platinum psu to see if it is a better way to go.

I will most likely go with one full and 2 standard and run the 2 standard off of the full.

I am planning to clone the 500 gb nvme m.2 stick to a 1tb stick

I purchased this stick

and this cloner

Have to say it is nice. I particularly like I can mine say BCH and run the node for btc at the same time.

I have it pointed to viabtc mining BCH and I am running a full btc node.

I use something similar.

Yes, you can dd with linux or even use other free utilities with Windows BUT you are now taking apart a PC to put in 2 NVMe drives and then waiting while it clones and then putting your PC back together. Or, you use this and put one drive in port A the new one in B and push a button.

If you have a spare board with 2 NVMe slots (and CPU and RAM and such) then it's a different story. Remember a lot of the slightly older lower end boards only had 1 NVMe slot. Dell did this a lot to save some money.

Yeah I had to spend one way or the other. I also need to clone nvme more than I needed to.

I have a decent cloning software with a lot of partition abilities .

BuT I have found a stand alone hdd to hdd has helped at times.
I have one.

I also have a windows pc set to do a lot of cloning with a dual dock

so getting the nvme stand alone completes the set.

also nvme cases run hot

these are open air and will be cooled with a fan during the clone.

finally if I find a deal on crucial p2 1tb nvme sticks I can sell a few  clones at a few bucks above cost which will pay for the gear.

I have purchased these 1tb crucial sticks under 100 bucks more than once.

also munchkin has a decent stick 1tb for 100 it is now 95

https://www.newegg.com/mushkin-enhanced-helix-l-1tb/p/N82E16820226899?

although the crucial seem more reliable

also you don't even need the stick just don't run a node.

I am committed to running a node long term
This only uses 9-11 watts to run the node. if you turn the miner off.

I will see how the 1tb clone works. Maybe I will give 1 away to the eur  buyers and 1 away to the N/A buyers.

My little nvme m.2 case was stupid hot 80c

So I know long burn to it is a no go.

the open case cloner will get strong fan hitting it and not over heat.

the cloner case arrived from amazon and was used not new with multiple marks on it and did not work.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LPDTZGQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So I got the new cloning gear from amazon.

I cloned a 1tb crucial using the gear.

It does a straight copy of crucial to crucial and when it is finished it leave the 1 tb copy in a state of 2 portions

Each are say 500 gb.

the futurebit os supplied to mine has gpart  so I simply expanded the portion to 800gb and left 200gb on the second portition.

So I now have a 1tb stick with an 800 gb partition

about 400 space before I expand the stick to 900gb

400/6.4 = 62.5 months before I run out of room and need to expand the partition.

the new cloner  gear is this link

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085T9MR9V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?

this cloner has built in software and it can be attached to a pc.  I have good cloning software on the pc. I simply did not have a good external dock like the one I linked.

now I just tried to clone a  2tb stick

https://www.amazon.com/XPG-SX8200-Gen3x4-3000MB-ASX8200PNP-2TT-C/dp/B07TY2TN64/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?

and the built in cloning software said fuck you I will not clone to the xpg stick so I hooked the dock up to my dell micro and I am using aomei backup on windows ten the software saw both ssd sticks and is cloning the 500 gb crucial to the 2tb xpg.

I will move it to the apollo once the clone is done.

It is slower using the dell to the 2 volt dock over 3 hours and only 51% done.

Based on my results using a crucial 1tb p2 model stick and the xpg 2tb I would not use the xpg I would look get the crucial 1tb it will last for 5 five years maybe more like 7 before it fills up.

I have some videos to post. I will link in a bit.

Video link
https://youtu.be/3XijZjTZJek

I do not edit videos this one shows the cloner not cloning from the 500 gb crucial to the 2tb crucial
Also shows how I had to cool off the nvme m2 drives to clone them

second video I use the 2 slot dock and attach it to my dell micro and use soft ware in the pc to clone.

I have found cloning windows and linux to ne  greatly added by having multiple ways to clone

built in soft ware works on some drives while pc software works on others.

it appears the built in cloner software was good for 500 gb crucial to 1000 gb crucial

but that cloning the500 gb crucial to a 2000 gb xpg the dell's aomei backup software with cloning option was good.

Video link
