I love Poker when played offline because I like to understand people's minds, how do they think, how they behave and being a strategist myself I like to always anticipate what others will do.

Well you have a point. Sports betting is not all about luck, knowlege and strategy has a big part to increase the chance of winning the game. Being aware of the past performance of each team (regardless what sports it is) give as an edge to predict the outcome, hence we have a high chance to win.

Anyway majority of games are relying on luck but I cant say its a waste of money especially if you're enjoying it. Though its not easy to win in dice, still its my favorite even I often lose. What important for me is the satisfaction it can give for playing my favorite game.

Evaluating the teams based on some specific things such as current performances, H2H statistics, missing players, etc can be considered as skill in sports betting imho. Skills to choose what to bet is also needed. There are many things that can be bet on sports. Lets say we are dealing with soccer game, it is not about who will win the game only but there are many other things to bet such as Asian Handicap, Over/Under goals, correct score, and many other things. Knowledge alone wont be enough if you have no skills to choose what is the best possible thing to bet.

Definitely poker, but actually I wouldn't consider it as classical gambling. Okay, many see it as gambling but in my opinion it is not, because here you are not purely based on luck. There is also a whole bunch of poker theory available. Most important in poker is a good control about your emotions and also a good bankroll management.

Don't bet with more than you can afford to lose! This is not about the money and profitable gambling, it's about watching a game with friends, having fun, and having a bet on your favorite team! Some people just like to have fun! They have some money to spend on that fun and they do it! Win or lose will not make them rich or poor!
