Approximately, 7-8 left until kick-off. I hope Chelsea can play seriously not defensive, We know the premier league begins in the next week, possible they can play carefully to avoid the injured. maybe one of the motivations is Tuchel and several players didn't yet win that tournament before. but, Villareal has that motivation either, even though both have the same potential, if they play seriously possible that will show an interesting match and strategy.  and whoever the winner, will create the step to the next way.

Of course both teams have the same motivation to win and the unfortunate thing is Chelsea's schedule of matches in the PL which will play this weekend. It will certainly be a consideration but even so, I still believe Chelsea will focus on this match and give all their energy and ability. Unlike Villarreal, although Laliga starts this weekend as well, Villarreal gets a schedule at the end or in the middle of the week which allows Villarreal to play more optimally in this match. Nevertheless I personally still believe Chelsea will get this title, but to bet it's safe I only choose the option to qualify @1.31.

Lukaku will not play today, Chelsea will start with Ziyech, Werner and Havertz. Chalobah, Loftus-Cheek, Barkley, Zappacosta and Bakayoko will be unavailable for Chelsea and Dani Parejo is unavailable for Villarreal.
This will be Villarreal's first official game this season. They played six friendlies and didn't get any win in these friendly matches. Chelsea played only one friendly if I don't see it wrong. It's not a big factor but Villarreal looks more fit, we'll see in the pitch if they are ready though.

I think Villarreal is already privileged to have reached the Super Cup final and be able to face a team like Chelsea.

My bet and cheers go to Chelsea... however, there is nothing better for a team than starting a season already lifting a trophy, so even if Chelsea is my favorite, I believe Villarreal should make it as difficult as possible.
It will be a beautiful game to watch.

Now they played 20 minutes in the first half and as expected chelsea are dominating the game and werner missed a good chance to score but i think chelsea will win this one they have a good and balanced team no changes from last year which will be a good thing the odds now are 1.72 and it seems good.

I never understand real reason of playing matches like Super Cup when both teams didn't even start their season, and I consider it more as exhibition match, but maybe I am wrong and they earn substantial amount of money.
Live betting is best betting option here and I believe we are going to see more goals, and looks like Villareal bad results from preseason are going to continue, they didn't win a single match and lost 3 of them, but they can always score with Moreno in front.

First half, people said it is an easy game played between by Chelsea and a random team, well Villarreal players woke up in the second half and the game ended with penalty kicks.

Its another proud moment for Chelsea and a second trophy for Thomas Tuchel. I had hoped that the game didn't go into extra time and then a penalty shootout but it did and Chelsea broke there history of loosing in the super cup finals tonight. Villarreal did good, it was so unfortunate that the miss came by their team captain, the least person that would have been expected to miss. After all the tactical defense in hope for a penalty shootout, they still got to loose.
Kapa proved himself the man of the moment when it comes to the penalty shoots, being placed at a position of trust and he delivered as expected, its amazing. It was a well deserved win for Chelsea.
Congratulations to them, they are now 2021 super cup champions.

And we have a winner! Chelsea managed to beat Villarreal 6-5 at penalties and won the Super Cup. It was really hell of a game to be honest. Villarreal played really good against Chelsea and it wasn't so different than the Europa League final game against Manchester Utd. Villarreal stayed in the game and helped it to go to extra time after a 1-1 result in 90 minutes. There was no goal in the extra time and we were at penalties. Villarreal resisted so well there also but they lost after Albiol missed the penalty.

Congrats to Chelsea! They won it even without Lukaku in this one.

Jorginho does not deserve a ballon dor for merely winning trophies; the award is basically for the best performer of the year, is Jorginho Chelsea’s best performer? nope, was he Italy best performer? Nope

Messi winning should not even be on the cards; the best individual season belongs to Lewandoski; any anything else is invalid atleast to me, you can aware ballon dor over a 3 weeks tournament in Europe and South America

Just like @youdacapt pointed out, Ballon d'or isn't given based only on trophies won. There are other criteria to decide who the winner and Jorginho, though pivotal to Chelsea's and Italy recent successes didn't do it alone. It was a team effort - He love a decisive penalty in euro 2020 final but his team mates were there to help so it was a team effort. Individually, He isn't doing bad but I think there are people ahead of him in the perking order.

After a very competitive match, Chelsea finally made it to the title after penalty shoot-outs. Both of the teams were eager to have a really good start with winning a big title at the beginning of the season already. Chelsea were the most powerful side of course. But I still appreciated Villarreal's huge effort. I enjoyed watching the game. This can be a nice morale boost for Chelsea before starting the EPL.

First half of game was so dominated by Chelsea that it wasn't very interesting to watch and I even wanted to turn-off game. But in second half Villarreal improved significantly. Game moved on to penalty shootout. People call it as lottery, but I don't fully agree. Tuchel replaced goalkeeper Mendy by Kepa and it shows that Chelsea had prepared for possible penalty shootout. This substitution instantly gave flasback to 2014 World Cup and genius substitution by Van Gaal.

Money probably is big factor. For both teams it's first official game of season, so obviously they are far from optimal condition and it's difficult to call this trophy prestigous. Maybe it would be better to held Supercup somewhere in the middle of season, like Supercoppa Italia, but UEFA probably have their reasons to have this Supercup as season opener.
