He is a hodler. He probably just keep the private key somewhere that it would take some digging to find it. This is an early adopter, he must have more BTC in his personal wallet than the ones in this donation address. But sheez that amount could really buy him another life on mars. Nice BTC address too.

He Must Spend A Tiny portion of Wallets Bitcoins to Show He is Alive

He had a github page where it shows he is still active and alive.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

This address provides me no privacy.
It's not straightforward to spend from an address with so many UTXOs.

The Bitcoin mission is far from complete. Fiat still exists. Everyone needs Bitcoin for savings they just don't know it yet.
I'll leave my public proof of HODL intact.

I'm not selling. Not those Bitcoins, not for fiat. And I'm not selling bitaddress.org

I'm around. Paying it forward. Donating to projects with the right ethos like Bluewallet.io and btc-rpc-explorer.

Run your own Bitcoin Core, run your own Electrumx, run your own Bitcoin block explorer. For the sovereignty and privacy.

Welcome back! Thanks for putting everyone at ease! But mostly thank you for bitaddress.org , combined with piachus platform I've done cool things with it!  I've been very fond of your service , bitcoinpaperwallet.com was sold and compromised so its a relief to hear you wont be selling bitaddress.org
Your historical sweat equity is beyond paying it forward. Keep up the good work.

An admirable attitude. And, good job with the bitaddress.org.
I can't even imagine what it must be like to hold so much coins.  Cheesy

Ha I'm sure I can speak for at least the groups of this thread by saying that we're happy for you to still be around us @pointbiz ! Indeed you bring up an important point of view that I'm sure wasn't discussed so far : the amount of attention that this address of yours already has. All in all your decision is a wise one and it can be seen as a flag of "hodl" from one of the early adopters. Nice one!

Out of curiosity, what are your main goals right now? I guess one of them is to keep on spreading the word about bitcoin, by means of funding other projects (btw Bluewallet is sick! A couple friends of mine use it and only have great things to say about it.).
As someone who has been around the inception of BTC, how do you see the scope of it as of now? Do you think it's running away from it's original goal? What do you see as being the main obstacles that BTC has to surpass in order to reach a more global, universal adoption?

I am wondering how does one get such an address? I somehow don't think that the 'ninja' part is just a coincidence.

The only way I see is just generating tons of addresses until you get one nice looking, am I wrong?

If you have a play with some of the text on that particular website - copy and paste into the "brain wallet' dialogue box, you will find there are wallet addresses that correspond with the text on that page (and the funds have been cleaned out long ago).

Perhaps it is an Easter Egg waiting for someone to decode the "brain wallet" correctly and score the "prize"

??

It's called vanity address and there are applications that can do this for you. And if you don't want too long starting (vanity) part it can be done even with your own computer.
One such software doing this (from 2011!) is Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin addresses

Wow, that's a looong (and old) topic... and it's exactly what I was looking for! Thanks! Smiley
