Hi all,
I am fairly new here.
I think I may have had an account here way back in 2013 or something.
I was recently re-introduced to the forum through a person I just finished up interviewing (Leandro from Cloudbet) because he asked me to link back to the forum.
Anyway...I started interviewing people in written format for Medium in a blog I dubbed Crypto Fireside.
Basically I interview people from the Cryptocurrency world. I try to get a bit of an origin story / founder story type thing.
Personally I am more interested in the people behind the thing than the thing itself and I think that there's already so much content out there about the technology behind these projects and the money side of things.
So far I have interested some pretty interesting people. Some of my favorites were an NFT artist from Michigan, the anonymous developer behind Rootkit finance and Im about to publish an interview with a guy that runs a hot dog stand in Cincinnati and allows people to pay in DOGE.
Well if anyone is interested feel free to read and follow along.
If it takes off some, i'll probably get some dedicated hosting and run it through a CMS like wordpress.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Just did [Leandro's interview] and enjoyed it a lot Wink

If it takes off some, i'll probably get some dedicated hosting and run it through a CMS like wordpress.
Please do so and I think you can even add some sort of weekly/monthly polls in regards to who you should interview next and what type of question should be asked based on the interest of the readers/viewers.
- Just to be clear, I have nothing against your questions Smiley

It will be good to create a Youtube channel to interview those people so you can invite more visitors to your channel and introduce crypto to them. So you can work on two media, which will help people who want to search for more information about crypto. Besides interviewing them, you can also write some news related to the crypto world, so people will not just see an article about interviews but also know what happens with the crypto.

@zasad@ start some interview with bitcointalk members  you can check some of them here ---> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5262967.0
I don't think you will get many good interviews here because many members care about their privacy.
Some of the old members are still active and maybe they are the only ones you will benefit from a lot but they are few.
In general, you will not lose anything from trying, as the forum witnessed the beginning of Bitcoin.

Yeah I do a lot of work after publishing to promote the articles. Sometimes I spend more time promoting them in fact. Im working on getting monetized on Medium, I just filled out some forms at the weekend, we'll see what happens.

I like the idea of written interviews as opposed to recorded voice or video because of several reasons, 1 it gives me access to a wider array of people. Many people in crypto are anonymous and so the minute you raise the topic of video or audio it can become a problem and I know you can do both while keeping the persons identity secret but I just find it looks tacky have a video of a couple guys talking but one of them has some kind of blacked out screen, the purpose of video is to SEE if you can't see it ruins it I think whereas the written Medium is nicer to these anonymous guys I think. 2 its actually an easier way to do it, I submit questions and they can work on it in their own time, think about their answers etc, we don't have to try to find a time that suites both and both be in the same place at once.

Yeah like I was saying to @electronicash I think the written medium suites this type of thing well but i'll never say never.

Well if anyone is interested feel free to read and follow along.

Bookmarked, i enjoyed some of the interview.

If it takes off some, i'll probably get some dedicated hosting and run it through a CMS like wordpress.

If you decide to do it, don't forget you need to find way to cover the hosting cost.

if there is a way to monetize articles on medium i think its best to just stay in medium.

Medium have "Medium’s Partner Program" which paid the article writer, AFAIK OP just need to claim his payment. Here's an article about https://medium.com/blogging-guide/how-much-money-can-you-make-writing-for-medium-a3cf0c9c7533.

Yep looking into that as I write this. But even if I do get paid, being a crypto guy myself I like decentralization and don't like the idea of having all of my content hosted in one place and having that place control what I get paid, when I get paid and how I get paid. Medium is no different at that level to Google or YouTube and as we've seen, many people get demonetized and banned as soon as something does not go the way of the host.

Yeah I was thinking of putting that out there myself and asking people here but I was not sure if that would be seen as annoying or spammy. I need to look into it some more, but of course if anyone is reading this and they would like to chat DM me.

Thanks everyone and don't forget to check my latest one out with a young German entrepreneur in the music and lighting biz that just began accepting Bitcoin Cash https://cryptofireside.medium.com/how-i-began-accepting-bitcoin-cash-78d083fe0e5?sk=40f1d167b0003536504c39d289f3e6e7

I think electronic cash has a point since you can be considered as a "content creator" having several outlets where you can show your content is to you advantage having your interviews available in written and audio format is something that will widen your presence for your podcast you can broadcast it in Youtube or in Spotify. I've seen your Medium page and some of the people you have interviewed have pictures and their identity known so you have an option for them to be interviewed live. Just think about it you have one interview and this interview can be made into a content for Medium, Youtube, and as well as Spotify.

Erm, no, it takes about a year from website creation, and big pockets (we are talking 4-digit sums), to get decent results on Google and enough to hire talent to produce 1-2 posts a day, editors & designers included. And this isn't even anywhere near bitcoin.com news or coindesk which produce as much as 12 posts a day. Just buying the analytics and SEO research services will set you back $1500/year somewhat as monthly rates are even more expensive in the long run.

For several months after you start out your traffic's going to be dead due to lack of Google traffic, so your target shouldn't be to "compete big", but to generate enough posts whose title searches place them on spots 1-3 on Google.

Speaking as someone who owns a news outlet here.

Anyway, that's a really impressive selection of guests you have there, OP. How did you manage to get a hold of all of them?

Thank you
I basically just reach out introduce myself and ask the question.
I have been lucky because I was already a part of a few crypto communities where people trusted and knew me.
You can go back and see some of my posts on Medium from earlier.
I was very active in the SAFE Network community for a long time and had my stints with Unifund, Quark, Doge and some others. In fact much of my Karma on Reddit was from posting Doge memes. I actually was emailing back and forth with Jackson Palmer one of the creators of Doge coin for a while there before he ghosted.

if you mean to seriously push this idea, maybe I could help you to start something more serious.
I can give you some hosting space, register a domain, some basic help with WP setup there. it won't cost you anything until you become profitable, and then it will be enough to cover the minimum server costs.

Yes I am very serious with this.

All of the articles are being republished on Hacker Noon (so far) and just today I managed to get one published on Coinmonks via Medium.

OK, my offer is open.
I have regularly shared hosting and I had some free space. It's no problem to add your potential site. I can register a domain for you if you can't because of any reason.
you don't have to pay anything for it.

It's pretty good, we need the crypto people to speak and have their opinions be heard out. I would visit your website maybe tomorrow OP because I am busy but not curious enough to do it right now.

OK, my offer is open.
I have regularly shared hosting and I had some free space. It's no problem to add your potential site. I can register a domain for you if you can't because of any reason.
you don't have to pay anything for it.
Hey man, thank you for that, it is appreciated.
I have already registered the domain name cryptofireside.com (with SquareSpace from memory).
Probably before I dive into something I want to get a bit of design, logo, that kind of thing.
Will absolutely keep this in mind.

Good luck with your blog.  I really like the presentation and it does have a personal feeling to it showing that you really are interested in the people in the space.  I'm glad whenever I see people trying to create something cool and that's what I see here.  You clearly have put a lot of work into this and it shows.  I'm looking forward to reading more interviews in the future and hope you stick with it while maintaining the same fun and personal energy.

Thanks OG, yeah I am working on a couple at the moment, always try to keep a pipeline going Smiley
We just hit the first page of Hacker Noon with an interview I did earlier with a young guy that started a Cardano Stake Pool.

Hey, Great job Man...

It will be a blast if you can conjure up some interviews with the controversial issues and characters in the Crypto scene, like Gavin Andresen, Mike Hearn, Roger Ver and John McAfee to get the behind the scene information on their latest projects and also some answers on why they turned against Bitcoin and why they tried to sabotage it. (The real reason, not the financial reasons)

I think the most interesting interview can be with Andreas Antonopoulos (The person behind the Legend) .... because people just love this guy!

Good Luck!!

Hi all,
I am fairly new here.
Basically, I interview people from the Cryptocurrency world. I try to get a bit of an origin story/founder story type thing.
Personally, I am more interested in the people behind the thing than the thing itself and I think that there's already so much content out there about the technology behind these projects and the money side of things.
So far I have interested some pretty interesting people. Some of my favorites were an NFT artist from Michigan, the anonymous developer behind Rootkit finance, and I'm about to publish an interview with a guy that runs a hot dog stand in Cincinnati and allows people to pay in DOGE.
Well if anyone is interested feel free to read and follow along.
If it takes off some, I'll probably get some dedicated hosting and run it through a CMS like WordPress.
https://cryptofireside.medium.com/

Hello  Smiley I am also new here! Just looking to get more information about women in crypto/NFT and trying to connect with the community for our gaming crypto project. It would be nice to hear from your perspective about females in gaming and crypto. I really enjoyed reading your article. Hope we can connect.
