There are some bounty campaigns that you can participate in on the forum. You can earn some money by doing different kind of works. And bounty managers manage those bounty campaigns. They are responsible for the audit of people's works which they do every week until the end of a campaign.

It is similar to marketing campaigns and thinks of the manager as the marketing manager but the strategy or method being done is through bounty. Bounty campaign does have a lot of types, they could be in the form of signature campaign, social media campaign but mostly being done in Twitter campaign and other types of campaign. They're all bounty because the reward that will be given to the participants is the token that they're promoting which is a sign that it's the first use case that will be made for that particular project. But not all of them are paying in their own token, there are some that pays in other cryptocurrencies and most of the time in bitcoin.

In cryptocurrency, bounty means you work on something and then the manager will sent you the reward and that is why it is called bounty manager. What does bounty manager do?. The bounty manager will check and count your posts made in a certain time frame. For example, a bounty wants the participants to posts a total of 25 posts per week to be eligible for payment. Checking posts if it is a spam, low quality and many more. It depends on the bounty campaigns of a company (like casinos and more). Bounty managers are hired by company owner or casino owners.

Bounty - a sum paid to encourage trade.
Campaign - an organized course of action to achieve a goal.
Manager - a person responsible for controlling or administering all or part of a company or similar organization.

Bounty is a set part of the award kept aside for people promoting the project, these people are paid some coins/ tokens from the total supply for the services that they have performed. Generally, there are set stakes for every activity that a person does, and based on the stakes of every person, a person gets his share from the total bounty pool.

For example A bounty pool for XYZ Coin has 1 Million Coins, 1 week of the signature campaign gives 10 Stakes to Senior members and 5 stakes for members, Now after 4 weeks, A senior member who works all 4 weeks will have 40 Stakes(10 x 4) while Member who let's say just worked for 2 weeks would have 20 stakes( 5 x 2). Out of a total pool of 1 Million coins, the distribution would be 800k coins to Senior Member and 200k to Member.

Now the person who does all this calculation of staking, creates the bounty thread and manages it, and also ensures everyone is obeying the rules of the bounty and project is called the Bounty Manager.

So, as you said, the prize campaign or the prize manager actually means the same and true what colleague @akirasendo17 has clearly explained about the term gift manager which is often abbreviated as BM.
