Hi I am a Newbie when it comes to crypto, I was hoping there is a way to store Shiba Inu and some other coins offline? Is there any way to do this whereby they are not left on any exchanges? I hate exchanges after what happened to me back in 2016. Another question is Trust Wallet safe to store these coins on? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Newbie that started in 2016? I've read people claiming they can store it on Ledger Nano S but the problem is I cannot find Shiba Inu in their list of supported tokens. Transfer it at your own risk. Another question is Trust Wallet safe to store these coins on? You have full control of your keys so it's safer than exchanges but it's still a software wallet.

Yes, transfer it into Ethereum wallet, it's basically an ether token so you can transfer it into your My Ether Wallet. It can be safely stored there. But to be very honest, I won't recommend you to HODL a coin like Shiba inu, it's a meme coin without any utilities, these types of coins are just one timer, they don't really last in the long run. But if you still want to do it. Just open a MEW account and transfer all your Shiba into that.

Shiba Inu is a ERC20 token on ethereum paltform. The safest way to store it for longer period would be hardware wallets. Both of Ledger Nano S and Trezor wallet would support Shiba Inu. You can also store them in a paper wallet. Metamask and Trust wallet are probably the best you can have on device wallet. Both of them don't push your keys online. You can even make a wallet offline and transfer to it.

Yes I had my first attempt back then in 2016, Cryptsy the exchange I had my coins on decided to rug pull everyones coins and steal them, I lost out id be a millionaire today, I then had no money to re invest, it happened so fast I tried withdraw my coins and they were gone just like the owners. So I had no choice but to threw in the towel, I lost about 1000 LTC, 10 BTC, and few million Doge, on top of RDD that I left on that exchange and people were telling me back then that all these meme coins itll never do anything, I had no money I was broke that was my gamble and I lost, things are slightly different now, so I have decided to gamble on some meme coins like Shiba with hopes it will hit half a cent. As for Ledger Nanos are they not risky with hackers exploiting them all? I skimmed past an article that they were targeting them ?

As for Ledger Nanos are they not risky with hackers exploiting them all? I skimmed past an article that they were targeting them ? There are some issues with using Ledger due to the fact that their database was hacked, but as long as you properly buy/utilize the wallet you should be fine. One of the most important things to remember is when buying a hardware wallet you NEVER want to buy them from a third party source. This opens you up to the possibility of buying a hacked device. Now while Ledger wallets are not my favorite ( I prefer Trezor wallets) it is still certainly a lot better of an option to use than keeping your coins on an exchange or a hot wallet. You might be able to create a paper wallet? But this is more so for advanced users.

A hardware wallet like Ledger Nano s have only one possibility of hacking that if someone has physical access to your wallet and then breach the pin and your security is compromised and your funds are lost otherwise there are say zero chances of hacking. How do come you hack something offline? In the past there was phisshy attack on Ledger wallet customers by which hackers send them emails that theri account needs new updations with mail setup and that was from not official but people got scammed. Some other major bug from the company that could leak your personal information can be under them. But if you are preferring hardware wallets over Exchange or some soft wallets then you must be expecting high security and full control of your funds. But still you need to be aware about the technical breaches and do not give anyone physical access which provides extra security on your behalf.

what happened to the newbie in 2016? if you are an old man but try again. I'm sure you've missed a lot of important events in the crypto world. if you want to store in a trusted wallet, I'm sure it won't be a problem to store your assets. most importantly keep everything well. especially the device for you to access your wallet. or you can see some suggestions from other members to save in an offline wallet. everything stays the same, depending on how you store it. anyway, welcome back to the world.

You're okay to store your coins on Trust Wallet as long as you're holding the recovery phrase. As for Ledger Nanos are they not risky with hackers exploiting them all? I skimmed past an article that they were targeting them ?
It's been known a better option whenever are looking for a wallet to keep for a long time. I myself got my Ledger Nano S and I've been satisfied holding my coins there and I don't have to worry about it and I have peace of mind while my coins sitting there. You're only going to be hacked if you're reckless with your seeds and you're filling forms unknown forms online.

you can get the trezor wallet from this page: https://trezor.io/And the ledger from: https://www.ledger.com/And another good option to buy them is Amazon. I recommend Amazon and not Ebay because from Ebay you could get a used one, and the seller could have a backup of the seed and stole your coins with that, that's why is important to always buy a new one. You will find a lot of youtube videos teaching how to use them.

I am not 100% sure but Shiba Inu are transacted and based on the Ethereum blockchain so if you have an ETH address whose private keys are stored offline by you, then you should be good to store the coins and access them anytime using the private key. A bit of personal advice though is that SHIB token might not be worth much in the future so although good for trading right now, I don't believe it has a bright future in let's say a few years from now. Is there any way to do this whereby they are not left on any exchanges? I hate exchanges after what happened to me back in 2016.
Of course, never keep your coins at exchanges. I left some dogecoins on various small exchanges and most of them are closed and some are asking me for documents to get back the coins. Another question is Trust Wallet safe to store these coins on?
From what I heard, trustwallet is safe as it gives you full control but because I am not 100% sure neither have too much technical knowledge, I suggest you to make sure they give you access to private keys.

Shiba Inu is an Ethereum based tokens so any wallet that holds ethereum based token is capable of holding Shiba Inu. Metamask is the wallet I used for holding some of my Ethereum based token, you can make use of that for your Shiba and it would be safe provided you don't exposed your private key, just stored them there and don't connect that specific wallet to unknown sites. Don't just invest and forget about your investment as Shiba is one of those coins you'll have to take profit when the opportunity is made available as it'll be constantly pumped and dumped just as dogecoin is been pumped and dumped.

so you will HOLD this coin and keep it in a cold wallet? that's your reason? maybe you know what happened recently when Elon tweeted about the Shiba Inu, and that means this coin has become one of the dump and pump arenas which he will play with like DogeCoin. and what is the evidence today? what is the fate of the doge? look and think again, when Shiba Inu is played by Elon, then you have to be ready for the Dump game, and maybe if you're lucky Pump you will be luckier.
it depends on your decision, it's just that for us investing in coins that are not easy to control is a safe choice, so we avoid price manipulation. because natural coins are safer without price games.

MEW or Metamask are more than enough, in my opinion. as long as he is securing the keys safely and securely. however, on the note of holding SHIB long time. the OP should not think not only once but many times, the reason why he will be holding it long time. this type of coin is something that you dont want to hold for long. once you got the right time to sell (i.e. price is higher than your buying price), just sell it and never look back. there's no solid foundation and no solid use case. just reading the ANN thread of SHIB in the forum, you will already get the idea where this is heading to...

Yes you can store it on any wallet that support Ethereum Network. Trust Wallet is a good option if you didnt have any physical wallet, i used it too and have no issue at all until now. Just dont forget to back up the phrase on the safe place.

Yes, you can save these coins offline using a leading hardware wallet now, the trezor and the ledger wallet which already shared above the link. Regarding keeping coins on the exchange, that is too risky because you dont know when the exchange will stop and will shut down in the future. So much better in the right storing of coins that you have control like having a private key. Trust Wallet will I guess is also good, they are open-source wallets. But I prefer to the hardware wallet to this. Why do you want to store this meme coin for a long period of time? I dont see any potential of this coin to have benefit someday, I have doubt it will become a shitcoin someday which is very risky to hold for a long period of time.

Starting with trust wallet, to the best of my knowledge I have not see or heard of anyone complain about them, or complain about loss of assets, that is to say, so far, the wallet have been trying in its aspects to serve users. Also, the best way to ensure you are secure is by writing down your backup phrases on a book, offline and not keeping it online, saving a screenshot and so on. Secondly, Shiba Inu is an ERC token, and since trust wallet supports ERC tokens, then it is safe to say, that you can store the coin in your trust wallet. Just make sure you copy an Ethereum address from your trust wallet and send it to, after that, if it is yet to reflect in trust wallet, you can add the coin (Shiba Inu) with its contract address.

Trustwallet is a good choice if you're planning to store your shiba or other coins. I've been using it for four years, and it counting for good times it never failed me because my funds was secured. Unlike with other wallets that need to accessed online, I have no confidence due to possible phishing that might come to existence.

I think what you need to use would be the hardware wallets. The only time your wallet is compromised is if the person has physical access to your wallet and can breach the pin and then your security is compromised and a big possibility of your funds to disappear. Otherwise, it is safe for you to use a hardware wallet. If you don't have the money to buy a hardware wallet then you just have to be mindful of your passwords and phrases and keep them safe so that no one will have access to that information.
