Hello everyone,

I am discovering the world of mining. I wanted to buy a GPU mining rig not too expensive and noisy to get into the game (For instance 2 or 4 GPU would be perfect).
I saw a lot of people build their own mining rig. As i am not extremely handy i wanted to buy a mining rig ready to use. I see in many websites that mining rigs are sold out. Have you got any suggestion for me about a secure website where i can buy a GPU mining rig ?

Thank you very much for your help !

Even you buy ready rig you must know basics, because you need connect and start OC stuff miners config wallet etc. For beginner you can start with your personal pc. then adding card by the time.

If you are from South Africa or other Africa countries I would advice you to order for your cards out of the country unless you can get used GPUs in your country, sellers in Africa are like scalpers and their price for brand new GPUs are insane, look into AliExpress and buy from sellers that have sold over 10 GPUs to people, also check the review from verified buyers.

Thank you very much for your answers and your advices.

@philipma1957 : I live in France. As suggested by @LostEcho, i will try to PM you.
@batsonxl : I watched videos on GPU mining and i am aware of the differents actions that needed to be done. The problem is that my computer isn't that powerful : i think that you are right, even if it has a very low configuration, i can try to do all the mining steps before purchasing a powerful rig.

You dont need powerful pc all you need is good video card. If you can find rtx 3060ti NON LHR or rtx 3070 NON LHR for good price it good point to start wtih them.

Go with the cheapest GPUs, this will get you closer to your ROI faster (Return of investment) I recommend Rx580 8gb and gtx1660, they are very cheap right now between 300$ to 400$, you can even consider used GPUs remember the cheaper you get the cards the faster to ROI

Since you live in France it is very easy as both Ebay and Amazon are present there and you will find a lot of already prebuilt rigs for you to buy based on your budget.I would suggest you directly buy with one or two RTX 3070 cards as a maximum in the beginning, even LHR-Lite hash rate versions are only limited to Ethash algorithm and you can find them cheaper and use them to mine Ravencoin since they are very powerful in mining this algorithm also.If you manage to buy a bit more expensive non LHR versions than you can mine Ethash as the most profitable algorithm right now.On another note RTX 3070 or RTX 3060 ti are the most efficient cards speaking about performance and consumption in kilowatts per month.Even starting with only one card with RTX 3070 is not a bad idea as right now one such card give about 100 USD a month or a bit more based on your electricity price. This way you will minimize cost and see if you like mining before venturing further(which I strongly recommend you do).

The problem is that my current GPU is very low : GTX 1050 with only 2 Go VRAM inside, which is not enough to download Eth Dag (for example).

For Website like Amazon France, I don't find any rig with the GPU installed : i can only find Rig without GPU. Maybe i didn't write the right keyword.
For Ebay, i can find rig with GPU installed but i don't know if I can trust sellers on Ebay (related to GPU rigs).

Standard question: How much do you pay for electricity? Wait for the London hard fork on Ethereum and see what the profit will be.
The price of video cards is decreasing every month, I don't think that investing in mining is the best solution now.
Maybe on the condition of very cheap electricity.

Thank you for your advice !
My idea is even if ETH will not me as good as before, there will be other coin that can replace it (ETH classic or others).
My eletricity fee is quite cheap, that is one of the reason I wanted to start mining.

If you want to get into mining and not have a lot of problems, then don't buy hot video cards like 3080 and 3090.
Look for good prices for 3060 or 3070 or AMD analogs that consume no more than 130 watts. If you want to mine with new video cards.
The 2060 and 2070 are good graphics cards for mining and they don't get warm.

There are always two types of miners in crypto space

1. The type that wants to take advantage of bull market and mine what they can to get their money back and sell their rigs peacefully

2. The types that want to keep mining either in bull or bear market

Which one are you? Don't you worry about ETH PoS isn't not happening anytime soon also we have Ergo which is most profitable on cards with HBM2 memory eg Vega 56 & 64

If you want to buy equipment that has been mining cryptocurrencies for more than 4 years, then the price should be very attractive. Miners will not sell good equipment, and there are a lot of video cards that malfunction or cannot be overclocked on the market. I have 5 video cards that mine stably only without overclocking. I don't want to cheat other miners and sell them video cards.

Thank you for your response again.

I want to buy GTX 3070 indeed Smiley.

I am second type. I am not afraid because I am quite a beginner  Grin. I wanted to try with an afordable mining rig and can change the coin whenever i want (I am also thinking about using NiceHash to do it easier at the beginning). I don't want to buy second hand GPU : i am afraid of GPU which doesn't work good.

Sourcing brand new non-LHR cards might become a challenge. Also, if you want to start with only 2 or 4 cards I'd strongly suggest you buy components and build them on your own.
Reasons:

a) you WILL run into problems sooner or later, it's much easier to learn to solve them on a small rig
b) it will give you better understanding of your hardware
c) it's actually fun

Buy one card and start practicing with it, it's always a bad move for a newbie to install many cards at once and start tweaking, you will get frustrated at one point unless you don't care about power consumption and hashrate, haha that's impossible isn't it? Everyone cares about those two

The cheapest GPUs in my country right now is Vega 56 and 1660super/Ti
