If at all such will happen there are other country which will adopt bitcoin, the currency will actually wave for awhile and it will be bounce back after some struggles. Even if this happened, it will affect the economy.

Do you guys think one day USA may ban cryptocurrencies? If yes what would happen? I think it's not totally impossible and that would be a global crash on prices.
USA is a civilized country and do not infringe on their citizens right for hodl ing cryptocurrencies thus this won't necessitate any ban of it, in as much as there are laws, regulations and monitoring of crypto related activities there is no any cause for alarm, the FBIs and CIAs are fully involved in tracking and tracing any suspicious laundering of cryptocurrencies by terrorist all these are some of the reasons that can lead to the ban of cryptocurrencies, since it is well attended to and checkmated cryptocurrencies will continue to thrive in the US for years ahead.

Huge panic wave? one person called elon could already shake the market so hard the market direction turning from bullish to bearish, not to mention if it's a government with their strict law enforcement but as many people have said, this kind of thing will not gonna happen, not as long as the institutional investors there could make money off it, but frankly speaking, such panic wave not only could happen in crypto market almost all investment instrument in this world could get affected by government banning and we're speaking about USA here. So it's not like crypto market is that vulnerable, it's just such thing could disrupt every market.

If ever US will ban cryptocurrency then for sure it will affect too much the market, there are so many investors in US and it would be a big loss for crypto world if they are going to ban cryptocurrency, but this is not possible and this will only take a panic selling for many people and for sure whales will take this opportunity to bag more, so be careful always and dont believe on this like this if ever.
Exactly what will happen, we are all going to be dumping our coins the moment they announce such. But I don't think they will do this, they already declared Bitcoin to be a physical asset. There are no specific discussions that will lead to banning cryptocurrency in the US. The big institutions are mostly from US also that invest in BTC and also speculating often in the media.

If the U.S. bans Bitcoin, then virtual currencies will definitely collapse. Now the price of BTC is consistent with the economic market of the United States, and it even indirectly affects the trend of the currency circle.

I don't think it will be banned. but if in the future it happens the impact will be very big. maybe bigger than it is now. America is one of the potential markets for crypto, and if there is a ban there the market will crash immediately.

So many crypto based companies in there from the large ones to the smaller ones so the chance maybe is rather slim but if they do the effect will be devastating, large portion of market cap or btc holders coming from the US and if that happens that means we gonna lost those capitals making the market have less liquidity and probably getting dumped hard as well since there gonna be major sell off. but definitely not gonna put cryptocurrency to death, it will still exist and have value.
US can't ban crypto, not when all the individual states have their say about how things run and when some states already started legislating (meaning that they regulate, so there is a law that provides for crypto legally). In fact, it's because of the big companies already providing revenue to the government that this protection for crypto happens there. They've seen what happens anyway when crypto is banned:)

Too many people from the American government want cryptocurrencies to develop further, since these people from the American government understand that cryptocurrencies are the future and therefore everyone need to give cryptocurrencies a chance to show themselves, and therefore I do not think that all of America will completely ban the use of cryptocurrencies in its territory at least ever, well, if, for example, this will happen, then of course the cryptocurrency market will collapse, but after some time the cryptocurrency market will recover.

It is not possible for a government to ban cryptocurrency, because it doesn't exist in physical form. Despite the name "coin", cryptocurrency exists in the form of codes written in various computer languages such as C++ and Haskell. It is not possible to destroy these codes, once they are written. And in order to access the coins, the user needs another set of codes (private key). Once again, the government can't ban or seize these codes, since they exist only in digital form. And unlike bank accounts and demat accounts, these codes don't have any direct link with the user.

Sure, but they can ban exchange websites which are an important part of the crypto ecosystem. Honestly regarding what we are talking about some of you guys are very confident that US will never ban crypto, but you guys should not forget that every 4 years there is a potential new government with a possible different attitude towards crypto world. We have a good example with Trump who recently stated that Bitcoin is a scam against dollars lol. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-57392734

Perhaps in your own opinion it is right, but for the majority of the community here in the forum or in this crypto space I guess it is not realistic. Sorry no offense, I am just stating the fact, and being true to you. If your gonna make a topic like about it, make sure you have a strong basis or evidence so that everyone here will get agree to you.

Yes you are saying based on the title of ops post. Op should say maybe banning of exchanges in there jurisdiction like UK have announced on binance. Definitely it won't be possible to ban cryptocurrency and no government can do such. They can only restrict users in there home or country not to indulge but people will still find means to it. cryptocurrency can't be banned only exchanges.

Yes, it will impact the prices but its not going to be the end of cryptocurrencies, people will be still using it and over time the people will still use it without need of any approval from the government which is also called the real decentralization.

a country like America is very unlikely to be able to completely ban crypto. because there will always be those who go against this rule. but if it happened like china. I think the crypto market can't survive. This will be very impactful in the long term. it may take years to recover. because the American market has a fairly large trading volume. if crypto is banned there, then the crypto market crashes.

From the beginning, the US did not fully approve of cryptocurrencies, so the residents there always had a hard time if they wanted to work through cryptocurrencies and I think that condition has been going on for a long time and does not really affect market conditions.

US didn't approve the anonymity and decentralization but they are never against the revenue generation from that crypto market that is why they become the most regulated crypto country. But these strict regulations are actually against the crypto as well so one who wants to maintain privacy needs to go through lot of hurdles to keep the decentralization.

Not a chance, that's why its called land of the free, For as long as people keeps paying their crypto taxes, US wont care about banning or censoring bitcoin. They might regulate some crypto based services but banning it altogether is next to impossible.

As of now, there is no possibility that USA will outright ban cryptocurrency in the same way that China is doing it, but I am seeing an overarching regulations to be passed by Congress on this industry maybe within the term of the ongoing POTUS Biden. Of course, we prefer regulations than banning, with the good effects of controlling the many scams and frauds populating this industry. There is also possibility that exchanges not based in the USA can suffer some restrictions of doing business. Soon it can be the USA that can be considered as the epicenter of cryptocurrency, if it is not the one holding the title. Yes, if there can be a ban coming from the USA, the industry can be devastated and getting back on the feet can be so hard.

The US may prohibit the trading of some anonymous cryptocurrencies that are impossible or very difficult to trace (for example, Monero). Bitcoin, Ethereum and other similar coins are very easily controlled through blockchain analyzers and many crimes have already been solved. After the events in China, the United States may become the largest state that regulates major cryptocurrencies.
