Spirit had no trouble against MIBR and managed to defeat their opponent with a crushing 13-1 score. Spirit will face 9z and will most likely advance to Stage 3. If you ask who will be the first to achieve a 3-0 record in Stage 2, I’d say Spirit, and barring a major upset, they’ll defeat 9z and wrap up this stage with a 3-0 record. Spirit has a strong roster, and the real tournament begins in Stage 3. This stage was a piece of cake for them, which is why they didn’t face much difficulty in either of the two matches.

Same thoughts, Spirit is just too good against everyone that's playing here in Stage 2. Maybe the only team that could put up a fight is Legacy, but even then, they'll need a bad performance on the side of Spirit.

I'm starting to think they're one of the few teams that can pressure Vitality on Stage 3, assuming they're still rusty from IEM Atlanta.

Monte managed to beat Legacy and took the score to 2-1 in Stage 2. Monte is having a good tournament, in my opinion, showing a strong response against the tough opponents they’ve faced. I’m not sure if they’ll make it through to Stage 3, but I’ll be eagerly waiting to see who comes out on top when they face TYLOO.
BIG also secured a win, bringing their record to 2-1.

I also like somnus just one more try, he's one of the strongest mid and I think that he can still go along with other good mid laners. As for the former OG, I agree that the easiest region is going to be NA for them.

He was my favorite player during the LGD days.

But he is almost 32 now. it is not easy to keep up with younger mids all the time.

I agree, fading minds in the esports is lower than the typical sports because it uses mind for the games and strategies.

Nope, nikko won't be back anymore as it's raven that they have taken as their offlaner. I think if it's communication wise, they did good on that and there's no more reservation if they are to blame each other or what not as long as they can understand each other and they're free to express what they want to say.

As for their EWC qualifier, LGD made it and with their stint right now in the Blast Slam they were able to beat 2-0 Team Liquid. But if it's Parivision, I think it will be a different story.

I gotta hand it to LGD. This 3rd map draft against Aurora was spectacular. Very creative, very well executed. What a joy to watch. It kinda reminded me of Wings. That Zeus was like he was playing old Arc Warden rapier bullshit.

Seems that Spirit are going to be the team to beat in this major from what we have witnessed from their matches so far.
FUT are rolling on G2 Esports at the moment taking the first map and leading 5-3 on the second one.
While FUT have been improving G2 have been struggling in their matches all tournament long.
Wondering if they will be looking for a change in their roster soon if this dragging down in the rankings continue.

Raven was a pretty decent carry player 5 years ago. One of the best at the time at SEA region. He made the transition to offlane because he just couldn't keep up on carry anymore. As an offlaner, from what i've seen from him, he's just not good enough. I think Gabbi would be a much better player for OG. Pretty safe to assume someone in OG doesn't like Gabbi. Not surprising giving how toxic Gabbi can be. Imagine how toxic a person has to be, to make Abed punch him in the face.

No doubt about raven for being carry in the past, he's one of the best carries. And as he transitions to offlane, let's see how he'll be able to do it with OG but I think the best thing about a team is on how they really communicate well. There can be an hindrance and wall with OG + tokyo and that's why they became lackluster. I agree about gabbi being better but that guy chose to become full time streaming, he's got a family already and earns more through it.

FUT is one of the better teams in stage two, so it's no surprise they're the second team to finish 3-0.

This G2 squad has been solid in clearing teams weaker than them, but they always fall short once the matchups get even.

They surely need a roster shuffle in the offseason because it doesn't feel like things will get any better if they keep sticking with this roster for the next few seasons.

First TI in maybe 8 or 9 years where I have no feeling at all for betting.

Teams are all over the place. One event they look great, next event they drop maps to random teams.

The bigger map also made drafts feel less important than before.

Right now I cannot think of a single team where I would be surprised to see them lose a map.

Another team to bow out of the major tournament was Gamerlegion. To be honest, I didn’t expect them to be knocked out so early; in fact, I thought they’d make it through to Stage 3, but after losing to both Astralis and Betboom, they were defeated by B8 and had to say goodbye to the tournament. In my view, they were perhaps one of the last teams I’d have expected to go 0-3 in Stage 2. To be honest, they didn’t play badly in this match, but they lost by a narrow margin due to simple mistakes.

Spirit qualified 3-0 which was probably the quickest 3-0 qualification ever in a major
FUT surprised a little going 3-0 over teams like G2

Gamerlegion and Flyquest are out, with some changes coming soon. Could argue Fly did better than expected, but Gamerlegion certainly bombed out by only winning one map in stage 2

Some not so big name teams playing today, G2 should definitely make it through no matter what but i suspect they maybe forced to play tomorrow as well

Nigma Galaxy just announced No!ob and rincyq were kicked and Sumail and lorenof are the replacements. Sumail will be playing carry. Kinda weird move 2 weeks before quals, but i can see why. Probably they didn't believe they could qualify with that roster. I have my doubts this roster is that much of an improvement, but we will see.

That choke from GamerLegion was frustrating, they had a 9-3 first half on Nuke, then only got 1 round in the second half to lose 11-13 in that elimination series.

I also think G2 should survive these last two rounds. There aren't many scary teams left and these bo3s will give them some breathing room if they're still shaken up from yesterday's loss.

G2 made it past FUT who threw their match away in the second map losing those 9 rounds to them. So now they face a more formable opponent in BiG. The germans are always a threat in these later stages of any tournament.
The match currently being played is quite surprising to watch with B8 winning on the last map against MiBR.

paiN managed to secure a convincing victory over Astralis and kept their hopes alive for Stage 3. Astralis put in a truly poor performance. Although the Nuke map was a close affair, the second map was one they had picked themselves. Having fallen behind 12-0 in the first half on their own pick, Astralis had little chance of turning the match around – and indeed, they failed to do so. For PaiN, the man of the match was undoubtedly snow.

I'm following the Brazilian teams MIBR and PAIN. Both won their first maps and are currently heading into their second map. It looks like it will be a close match, at least that's what I expect. But I'm confident both will advance. I'm also looking forward to Stage 3 and seeing how Vitality performs in this initial phase.

Yea GL bombing out was very surprising but its a terrible run organisation so its equally surprising when their players perform and make deep runs in tournaments lol

Astralis also got stomped by pain today and as i am typing this tyloo are also about to get 0-2d

TYLOO didn’t put in a poor performance against 9z, but we have to say that 9z are the stronger team and have secured their place in Stage 3. It’s worth noting that dgt had a truly standout match. They played a good match and played a major part in securing the win. TYLOO were poor as a team and have carried their chances into the final match. Whilst I don’t think they can beat Legacy, they do still have a chance.

Yandex is starting to be back at it again. I guess that they're becoming ready for the TI. And speaking of TI, it's now happening the open qualifiers for all the 5 regions. I'm waiting for the books to open for stake as it's only listing the game in the SEA of grindback and six cats. There will be 2 open qualifiers for all of the regions.

Unfortunately, MIBR was eliminated, but Pain continued in the competition, winning 2-0 against Astralias, which I really didn't expect to be relatively easy to beat. They managed to score some points in the first map, but the second was a clean 13-4 victory.

The other Brazilian team in this major is playing one of the last remaining Chinese teams right now.
Tyloo is slowing coming back into this one against Legacy and it is 8-6 on the first map.
The odds were in favor of Legacy @1.26x but Tyloo are looking sharp from the switch to their T-side.
The next match-up will have BiG against the ever dangerous B8 in this tournament.
