Which trading platform to use in Belgium ?

Hi everybody !

I am beginner in crypto-currencies trading, and currently looking for advice to start on the right path. As I am settled in Namur, Belgium, I was wondering which is the best platform to be in to trade bitcoin and other cryptos... I've search a few pages in French and English, and eventually found that crypto platforms comparator, which seemed to me quite comprehensive.

However, I wanted to ask the community for more advice. A friend of mine recommended to me Etoro. Do you think it is the right choice for a beginner ? Also heard a couple of good stuff about Coinbase...

If you're okay with heavily regulated centralized platforms like these two you mentioned, you don't mind giving your personal information to them, and not worried about the risk of account lock up, I guess they're fine.

Just know that there are fully decentralized exchanges like Bisq, peer-to-peer, and semi-decentralized exchanges/apps that are available. I personally like using Safepal wallet to access Dapps like Binance.

A quick search found one exchange office located in your country (so at least they claim). I have to admit I’ve never heard of them before, but that’s no wonder because many crypto users know that local exchanges are generally not known outside their country’s borders.

I have to admit that I did not find anything relevant on or off the forum regarding the credibility of this service, so do not take this as a recommendation, but only as information that should be checked as a possible answer to your question.

I personally tend to agree with your friend's recommendation, the Etoro exchange platform is suitable for beginners on trading like you.  They had also a feature of copy trading which is a good practice for making experience in trading and learn some techniques and it gives ideas while in the trading field.  But there's one thing that you must consider in the first place, there's a big amount in the minimum deposit, it's a $200 minimum amount for a first-time deposit.  Much better if you will choose them to read first the FAQ and the TOS.

I don't think if you will like their trading fees, while Etoro has absolutely had free trading fees for takers and makers.

Alternatively, why not you will choose Binance. IIRC, Belgians can also use this exchange.

TIPS: As a beginner, picking a good exchange is very hard, you should always do your own research first (DYOR) and don't forget to read TO and FAQs.

Etoro is totally not recommanded, because there are so many hidden fees. They are well know because they have a very strong marketing strategy on the web, but if you check the fees in deep, it's another story.
I don't say it's a scam but newbies are pretty good cash cows for them.

Since you're francophone, instead of a long speech to explain why, check out this guy's video (in French). After watching it, you will longer continue to wonder if you should use it or not.

Most of the francophonne (in EU) use Kraken (Belgium included). At least to deposit EUR, since their banking partner is efficient for us. Kraken doesn't have a lot of coins to trade so then the persons usually move to Binance or another exchange.

So the final path: Deposit EUR to Kraken>>buy bitcoins (or another coin)>>and move to Binance (or stay on Kraken)
Bitstamp is also a good alternative.
