Was +Merit option was always visible to your own posts or is it recently added

Iirc there was no '+merit' option to your own posts/comments before. Is it recently added or was I tripping whole time?

It was there for quite sometime but you will get an error if you it. I notice when I'm planning to give a merit to the user quoted my post and I accidentally click the +merit button of my own post. But I don't know now if you can change send merit on your own.

No it's always been there (since activation in 2018), but you just can't award yourself any merits.
