because of the strict need for RTL (bidirectional text i/o) support.
Without this feature, I'm afraid it wouldn't hold enough water, because the majority of its active users would be non-technical members who care about UI and ease of use,
That's not going to be an issue in this forum; we already have the following sub-boards that use RTL text:

I'm just going to leave a post that I made back in 2018 as a reference to why @theymos will not create a Persian sub-board anytime soon [I believe it's still accurate for the most part]:

Dear SFR10,
As you know Perian is RTL, while it is a completely different language, Imagine both french and English are LTR, but they are different languages. As a person who spent the past years in Iran, I see that cryptocurrency is a common topic in Iran. Due to a lack of English speaking, they are not able to read other English topics. I firmly believe by Creating a subboard for Persian, which may translate the role and also the other trending topic we can improve this from at all. Imagine there are over 120 M Persian speakers around the world.
Also, there are huge farms in Iran.

As I already mention the main problem is that Iranian are not familiar with English. In Persian blogs by misinforming, they have undermined trust in the decentralized concept.

By creating a subboard we can provide content and information in Persian and covering the problem they have with English speaking. And by providing facts we can transfer data that are correct.

Surprisingly it is somewhat broken for Farsi! You see text/paragraph alignment is not enough, the text direction has to be changed otherwise user has to manually change the "paragraph alignment" to "Right Align" like the line below:
Example of paragraph right alignment
And if they include any English words, the sentence will be broken.

Surprisingly enough it only affects Farsi not Arabic.
Arabic example from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5346647.0:

Farsi example from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=620798.msg57940515#msg57940515:
The correct sentence should be like this:

It also doesn't support Arabic numbers either, they show up as roman.

Yes, I do know that. Just to be clear, I never implied that Farsi is the same as the languages that are being used in the local sub-boards that I've linked previously!

I firmly believe by Creating a subboard for Persian, which may translate the role and also the other trending topic we can improve this from at all.

You have a point, but you don't need a sub-board to kick-start that process [I do know sooner or later, it'll become a mess but AFAIK, no one has received special treatment when it comes to the creation of local boards].

You're right... I don't know much about such stuff, but if I were to guess, I would say @theymos probably added a "BiDi support [bidirectional script support or something similar]" to the above local sub-boards in comparison to what Persian speaking users experience in their local thread [I could be wrong, so don't quote me on this one].

As a workaround, perhaps it's best to just use English "letters" to write in Farsi:
