Old GPUs have chance with Ergo?

Have anyone try autolykos2 algorithm (ergo) on old AMD cards like hd7970 GPUs? Asking on behalf of a friend who still have many of this cards at hand and looking for what to mine with them presently

Those cards are too power hungry to make gains out of them, if you have free electricity I recommend trying them out yourself, go for any algorithm that's still minable with 3gb memory

If you look at the size of the DAG file, then this coin can be mined until February 2023.
I didn’t calculate what would be the most efficient mining: Ergo or Efmrium classic.
Although I am nover wrong with Efmrium Classic, because its DAG file has recently exceeded 3 GB.
The hd7970 consumed about 200 watts, which is a bad figure today.

Even if I have free electricity I won't dare mine with 7970 because they will eat more power than what they will give back to you, you will hardly make 0.5$ will burning away 200watts, im still feeling bad mining with 34MH at 170watt to 190watt using 1070ti and you are talking about 7970? No freaking way

Ergo is not power hungry and the Dag is 2GB.
I'm still mining with an RX 460 2 Gb at 35 MHs using 35 W(software) using LOL in MMPOS enviroment

That's not the case with 7970 GPUs, they are naturally power hungry whether the algo you mining isn't power consumption or not, rx460 is the weakest in its league of other rx4** and of cos it's never power hungry GPU compared to rx480
