he did the changes in his pool.
Which is different than cgminer. Does the stick solo mine to an older version of Core or are you just trying .22? The change Kano did for solo mining are accounting changes in KDB -- both his solo and main pool all use the same front-end he has used for ages.
There's already another fix on the todo list for cgminer - the fact that failover hasn't worker almost forever
(since someone added stratum - yes that long ago)

I'll look into solo working with 0.21 when I get to doing that - give it a little while Smiley

But no, it's far from ideal to use a version of bitcoin prior to 0.21, since when taproot activates next month, you must be running 0.21 or later.

Thank you!
The gbt parsing will not be to complicated, but the rest is, so I know what work you dealing with.

There are some cosmetical things, wich would be great if you put them in(I did not do a comit on github, because it is nothing what affect mining)

Code:
//	cg_mvwprintw(statuswin, 5, 0, " Block: %s...  Diff:%s  Started: %s  Best share: %s   ",
cg_mvwprintw(statuswin, 5, 0, " Block: %s...  Diff:%s  Started: %s  Best share: %s    ",
That is for not leaving the K or M at the end of the bestshare, when a '[Z]ero statistic' has been pressed.

Code:
if (use_curses)
enable_curses();
// #switch cursor OFF against flickering arround
curs_set(0);
I put it in to prevend the cursor moving all around, that was allways anoying me.
I switched the cursor back on on if you press Q for 'quit', so the cursor is visible in the console after exit.

I know, those where simple things, I just want to improve a bit.

So Thank you Kano for keeping cgminer alive!

I can use this stick with an gekkosience hub Right?

Very curious if it is as brilliant as newpac and R606 Smiley

Yep. I’ll be running 6 of them on my gekko hub but not at max speed due to the amperage per port. The ports share a 6amp inductor(?) between them so a max of 3amp per port which is around 500-525mhz each stick.

OK, got just 1 @ this point, so i can pull 6 Amps out of 1 port when leaving other 1 unoccupied. (This what i make out of your remark Smiley  )

Officially I'm not allowed to endorse that strategy because the USB jacks themselves aren't rated for that kind of current.

But yes, each pair of ports has 6 total amps available. Check the underside label for pairings.

You can but its certainly not advisable.

EDIT:

Is there a rough performance spec for it like we had with the Newpacs?

Quote
=================
=Expected Performance=
=================
The expected performance of the NewPac is about 0.228 * MHz = GH.
At the default frequency of 100MHz, the NewPac runs at 22.8 GH.

About: 65GH/s +/- 5% per 100MHz

GH/s per Hz is lower at lower frequencies
GH/s per Hz is higher at higher frequencies (within limits)

i.e. as long as you have enough cooling, once it gets over the 300-350MHz mark, it should show a better ratio.

Thats probably why it hasnt been mentioned. Its not as linear as the previous sticks. Cheers Kano.

EDIT:-

Just throwing this out there. But would there be a market for a dual to single usb pcb to join two ports together on the gekko hub? So you can run a compac-f at full speed?

Er? Why? to feed the F 6A?
You can already do that with his hub -- if you do not mind vastly overloading the USB socket, just leave the other port open, plug in the F and crank her up. A dual to single adapter still faces that max 3A limit for the single socket.

Hello all, newbie here, but I have read this whole thread a few times.

I've got my three CompacF miners running with CGMiner at 400 (I have meters coming Friday to further tune voltage), but when I mine with NiceHash I end up with most of my shares being discarded. Their help says this has something to do with my mining software and overclocking.

So, I've read enough here to know some of you are successfully mining, is it just that I shouldn't be mining with NiceHash? If so, any recommendations? I'd like to generate revenue regularly as this is part of my DCA stacking strategy.

Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide, finding this thread has made my life so much easier!

Known good pools are kano.is and solo.ckpool.org

Use those to get everything configured correctly.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

First question - to avoid top posting (which I guess I did) should I have quoted a previous message?

So, I'm connected to Kano now and getting the same issue "Share above target" and suggestions on how to attack that? Is it going to be a matter of getting the voltages right? At the moment I'm running one stick and one fan at a time. I'm using all equipment from bitcoinmerch.

Thanks for being patient with a new guy. I've spent several days making sure I'd tried everything I could figure out from internet searches.

Very good point! Totally forgot you could do that on the gekko hub. Just had a vague memory of someone doing that kind of thing in the past but now I think of it, it was probably to get around the per-port limit on a particular hub.

"Share above target" is probably something with the pool expecting a faster miner (more shares coming in) and it could take a few minutes to retarget.

NiceHash and proper cgminer don't work well together, because NiceHash requires some added protocol stuff that's demonstrably insecure and kano refuses to support it.

Looks like you have the "--verbose" command in your config/bat file. Take that out and see what you get listed on the cgminer screen.
