We can see smart contracts from tokens, through smart contracts we can see various information related to tokens, be it total supply, market prices, holders, exchanges, and etc
If the information about their smart contract is not available, you can ask the team, but if the token is already available on Coinmarketcap or another tracking site, you can view the smart contract there.

It takes a lot of time before any changes are reflected on Coinmarketcap and Coingecko. It's also the team that informs these data aggregators if I am not mistaken. I guess nobody else wants to spend resources on gathering all those data and keeping them up to date.

In every blockchain network, there is an explorer, now the purpose of this explorer or rather as the name goes is to explore whatever that is launched on that blockchain, thus the reason there is transparency in every transaction or operations going on within a blockchain.
Therefore, to know about the total supply, token name, no of of holders, smart contracts and most times price, the explorer of that blockchain helps, also in the case of total circulating supply you can check every holders to know the number of tokens they hold, top holders and so on.
However, in-depth tracking of the prices, All Time High, All Time Low, circulating supply can be seen easily on coinmarketcap or coingecko.
Additionally, you can figure out what you are looking for by checking the smart contracts of that token, that will help to show how the token has been distributed over the time it was launched.

You might want to look at https://etherscan.io/tokencheck-tool to see the circulating supply of some tokens based on a date or block height. That particular tracker is also available on Bscscan.

Unfortunately, it does not work like the historical data on CMC. You need to manually choose the desired date/block height to see the supply. Or maybe you can see their API to see if it's able to easily scrape that data.

Check etherscan and token contract information, there are other ways to check the same status. Btw, ICOtrack and Ico analysis websites also provide this information usually.
https://etherscan.io/tokencheck-tool Use the contract address and see which addresses have the most part of the token. Checking token contract will give an better idea than blindly investing in the coin that invested by majority of the newbie investors.

OP can check the bot circulating and max supply on Coingecko or Coinmarketcap websites, it is easier to follow all updates on single platform. If he wanna check the fundamentals then reading the tradingview pro will give an complete idea what to do. I prefer to do all in the single platform to save time and energy.

You can check these details on explorer. If you want to see circulating supply or total supply of an Erc20, you should check on etherscan and if you have a BEP20 token then you should check on Bscscan. And you can check on project website or you can ask their team on telegram about supply.

It depends on why you need this information.
If you want to invest in a project and make calculations on the number of tokens available in circulation, then you need to study the project in more detail. I have come across incorrect data on Coinmarketcap, because many projects use vesting and some projects do not have complete data on the distribution of system tokens.

Coinmarketcap can be a reliable source for now, and also there's coingecko which provide an accurate data same as cmc. Historical data based from different exchanges who had good volume performance, and it's all been gathered all together to obtain good results. Though there's some shitcoins that's still part of their listings, these reliable sites will still provide us real time updates as well.

Actually, I have seen such a function on CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko where you can check both circulation supply and total supply. Also you can use explorers. Ethererscan for Ethereum, BSC scan for Binance Smart Chain and Polyscan for Polygon. If you want to know the total supply you can just check it in smart-contract on the page read contract.

you can see the article above how token supply circulates and coinmarketcup has that data although some of the data is not very accurate because some tokens currently have a burning system and all of them can be tracked by looking at the historical data of smart contracts.

First of all you need to know the platform of the token which one you need to know about circulating supply or max supply. After that you can search via bscscan/ethscan/tronscan. And you can easily see the token details. Also if the token listed on coingecko/coinmarketcap/poocoin or etc coin price and volume tracking site then you can easily get the token details. You can easily find the max supply and circulating supply. Max supply is fixed. But circulating supply can be changed.

You can easily check on coinmarketcap or coingecko perhaps whenever it's already listed on such price tracking sites. If projects site provides such information too, then you can directly check for better reliable status of the supply.

When it comes to token supply circulates and max supply, you should check many sites. This means you should make a cross reference data of supply circulates and max supply of said token in explorer, in coinmarketcap, and in token official site just to make sure there is no mismatch in the number. I know for one, coin swap or burn in which some of those sites fail to update the amount properly.

You can see that on coinmarket and coingecko, thought it might not updated but at least you have the figures. If you want a more accurate total number of supply, then go to the contract address and you’ll see how much supply already out in the market, historically its hard to find that.
