I'm now graduating from a BSC in Business Administration, and as I've mentioned in another thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5355827.0), I'm pretty clueless on how to continue from there, as I haven't decided what I like or can see myself doing in the future. I've stumbled upon a Master’s Degree, in Blockchain and Digital Currency.

The courses are the following:

Required Courses:

Introduction to Blockchain and Digital Currency
Principles of Money, Banking and Finance
Law and Regulation in Blockchain
Blockchain and Entrepreneurship Management
Blockchain Systems and Architectures
Emerging Topics in Blockchain and Digital Currency

Selective Courses:

Digital Currency Programming
Smart Contract Programming
Permissioned Blockchains Programming
Cryptographic Systems Security
Emerging Topics in Law and Regulation
Emerging Topics in FinTech
Open and Decentralized Financial Systems
Token Economics

What are your thoughts about such a degree? Would you go for it? What career prospects would something like this have?

https://www.unic.ac.cy/blockchain-and-digital-currency-msc-distance-learning/
The content of this course looks quite interesting. We all the know about the big demand for blockchain skills in the actual market, and this is why i would recommend this course to everybody especially that the course can be made online. Yes i will surely go for it .
I tried to deeply check that link about the university of Nicosia but failed to find info about the fees. Note that many other universities offer this kind of courses but it requires a lot of other requirements which may not be met by everybody.
Would you please op tell us about the fees and other steps to apply .

The procedure to apply can be found here https://www.unic.ac.cy/admission-requirements/application-procedure/, it has a few requirements, such as a proficiency English certificate and a Bachelor's degree from a renowned university.

However, I'm seeing that the admission fees are way too high. Have a look for yourself.

The course outline is good, although you would have to ask yourself the question of whether you really like this or not. Getting a Master’s degree isn’t tough, but you have to have $$$ to spare as it will cost you a lot. If you’re sure that you’re going to stay in cryptocurrencies and see yourself as a professional on the field in the future, go for it. Otherwise, there are tons of career paths you can take from your degree, and you just have to build your network, skills, and experiences from there.

I find it difficult to choose which degree that I'm going to venture of, and I guess those course got an expensive price in school particular they're using online teaching or an e learning modules. Maybe if there's a chance that I would be deciding to choose crypto over physical job, that's the time I'll give up earning fiat and divert with virtual currency. The demand of Blockchain market is quite increasing, so this is really a potential future developments that probably going to fame if whole world totally recognizes crypto as trusted asset.

There is a case for a Master on blockchain, crypto and all the ecosystem. To be honest, to properly understand bitcoin and crypto you would need to dig into psychology, history, economy (micro and macro), computer science (particularly cryptology), electronics and perhaps a few other disciplines. My take is that most of the formation out there is going to be focused on programming and computer science, so if you have studied BA or and MBA, you would not need a full master, but rather and understanding on the inner workings of these systems from the programming and logic view to complement your understanding of the microeconomic and finance side of it.

These blockchain and digital currency knowledges is realtively new, under 20 years old. I wonder the lecturer of those lessons are really compatible to teach on master levels since this field is currently growing and many people invented something new every day in this cryptospace.
to my knowledge that master level have to make some scientific desertation to be examined and tested the validation of the research.
But this is a great start, i'm sure in the future blockchain and digital currency will be one of popular major in universities

I'd say probably just go for such degree if you personally can't learn by studying online, but instead needs some face-to-face teacher-student stuff to be able to focus. Simply because you can pretty much learn almost everything concerning computers and programming online for free now.

And yea, degrees and diplomas are good, but they're getting less and less relevant in the technology world as time goes.

I think with the arrival of bitcoin derivative sources of work would be established and that it is a crucial moment for some to consolidate their knowledge in a formal way and be able to practice as graduates or with formal education in the area.
Sometimes some companies only hire personnel with a degree and the experience afterwards (sarcasm) but in a certain way if you want to formalize your knowledge it is an optional of the many offers that exist.

On the other hand, in reference to what you ask about job expectations, OP, the LinkedIn network is a good indication of your geographical area to start to get an idea of how the job offer may be in accordance with different search criteria; bitcoin, critpocurrency,  Blockchains, etc.

If I would be given another chance to study any field, Id choose this. But sadly in my country it is not available even in good universities. In this era where technology is fast upgrading, blockchain in my opinion is one of the future. I can see a very good future about this technology and being able to be part of any developing project for blockchain would be great.

You will taking more courses and another degree and I don't think that I will be able to do that myself, I just want to live a simple life when it comes to this kind of things. Plus, it's a niche course that will be difficult to get a job if you don't have many connections.

Higher education is not for everyone as it's expensive, takes time, and probably won't land you better jobs. It depends on your financial position though whether you are already rich or struggling to get some income to survive. Since you already have BSC, you would struggle if you get a master in programming related field, since you don't have strong basic in computer science (I assume), even though it can be learned along the way, but it's still difficult. Blockchain, etc., is basically programming, cryptography, computer science, etc. It's interesting, but not for everyone, especially from those from social science.

I'd suggest that you work first in the blockchain industry and take the education if you still see it useful. There are lots of area that don't require you to have programming skill, such as law and regulation, and other supporting area (H&R, accounting, PR, etc).

The course outline is good, although you would have to ask yourself the question of whether you really like this or not.

Important. We need to involve ourselves with the thing that we enjoy doing and doing so will give us joy because we do and succeed in it with ease. So Op , this is left for you alone to know whether you like cryptocurrency and digital marketing/business. If you do then you should go all the way to grab the opportunity of a lucrative future venture. Is obvious that the crypto space is very young and whoever acquires a degree around it may be one of the earliest dominators and much talk about pioneers in the academic field even when you are gone to great beyond. If you happen to write books on it, you books will be highly sold across countries. I think it is a good field that you can venture into if you like it. Yes you already have a first degree that is still in the line of further showing the world about cryptocurrency and marketing/packaging it very well. Is a choice you need to made by yourself, I wish you good luck.

As long as they teach the right thing....like the core principles of true Blockchain... I don't think it's a good idea to teach things slightly different from the truth/fact. Saying this because of the Permissioned Blockchain in the list which I assumed means High Permissioned Blockchain... that will likely create problems for a decentralized network.
This^ is actually one of reasons I'm really careful with what i learn from typical schools... Lots of what they teach are turned backward, slightly different from truth, and those who learn them come into the real world and find it difficult to coup with reality .

I admit you are really amazing.  with all your degrees I'm sure you can make a masterpiece.  if you are already proficient in Smart Contract Programming, then it will be easy for you to innovate on Blockchain.  now Blockchain has succeeded in making innovations in the fields of agriculture, finance, games, collections, and maybe with your skills you can make innovations in the field of health or education.  If you succeed, it's not impossible that you will be Icon this year

I'm sure it will be in demand for the next 20 years. So I approve of your choice and wish you good luck!
But OP's degree is on the business side, wouldn't OP feel like it's a difficult thing to do because it's a totally different discipline and I think you should have some programming skills for this one to be able to make sense in all of this, if OP is determined, I guess that my negativity won't be a problem so I guess good luck to OP if he/she wants to take that course.
I get what you're saying, this specific Master's Degree is a little more technical, compared to Economics and Business. It probably requires some decent computer skills (Which I have) and at least some basic programming skills (I don't like programming).
The course outline is good, although you would have to ask yourself the question of whether you really like this or not.

I do like Cryptocurrency and this whole digitalization, however, I'm not sure whether I could put that in perspective and use it as a career. Maybe I'll need to see for myself to get the right answer.

This one in specific costs approximately 13.000 Euros, it's an extravagant amount, especially if you still haven't made up your mind on what exactly you want to do with your life.

List out few factors while choosing your degree and setting up a career for yourself in the future. Your entire life will depend on the degree and where you work. Obviously crypto world is emerging one and has good potential but this needs to be studied pretty well in advance before you can enrol into a course.

Please consider,

1. Your location
2. Does the country has future in blockchain.
3. Your interest in the field of blockchain.
4. Where do you see yourself in next five years after your masters.
5. Scope of your degree in few more locations.

Always remember, what you will study today will decide your life, future, income, interest etc.

I'll think first what I really like with the selective courses but, if given a chance and I've got a lot of time to spend for most of those courses then I'll get almost everything of those courses until I'm satisfied.

Think about it if what you really need and what do you think will help you with your chosen career path. Since you're more with the business side, you can be flexible and even with those programming courses, you can remove them but they're also good skills to learn.

I'm not sure if you've read some other threads I've created, which are career/study related, I'm pretty much in a dilemma on what to do after I fully graduate from my BSC degree in Business Administration. There are a lot of Master's degrees out there, some of which look interesting, but I'm having a hard time predicting on how they could help me in career prospects later on.

For instance, I also looked into accounting and finances, which have promising career prospects, however, I'm not sure if I find it as something that I could see myself doing and being pleased by it.

Due to Covid-19, more and more universities are offering online degrees, so location isn't necessarily an issue anymore.

Well, it is a great title, the truth should be included in every university career, be it Engineering or an economist, it should be established as mandatory in any of those career curricula, because it could leave professionals prepared to face any financial scenario, now professionals Today they have to be very comprehensive, in any scenario, and now everything is moving towards digital, and what is most seen is that the economy will be moving towards the economy of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, and countries like China need their people know about Blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

The world is crazy about crypto, if these courses are useful and in high demand, surely in the next twenty years, job opportunities will be extremely bright for those who pursue these fields.
If they have burning programs it would be better because the tuition fees of these majors are quite expensive. At least for now, when the pandemic is happening, the advantage of homeschooling is saving a lot of living costs. If possible, I look forward to online training.

Blockchain is a wonderful technology and Digital Currencies are an innovation to the modern world. However, I can't really understand where I could combine my Economics Degree with this Master's. I definitely cannot predict how such technologies are going to evolve, thus, it's highly doubtful to guess how I could possibly pursue a career in that field.

It sounds like a perfect degree for the future to me. If that's something you're into, you should go for it. You already know how to run a business, and adding to this detailed knowledge of Blockchain and cryptos will help to get ideas on starting (or joining) a crypto-related business. Cryptos are getting more popular, and specialists will be in high demand. According to LinkedIn, blockchain was one of the skills that were in the highest demand in 2020 globally. It's probably good for your future career, and if you're interested in cryptos, it should be a degree you'll enjoy obtaining.

According to the disciplines listed above, you will have diverse working environments with blockchain such as legal consultant, blockchain architect, programmer...
If you want to be wildly successful in the blockchain, you will have to become a really talented person, or you just barely make a living. I think that bringing blockchain into all aspects of life is quite difficult and only a few businesses will take on that job.

I think it is good to always learn something deeply. I learning about bitcoin and I think there are so much knowledge that I still don't acquired. Now, I focus on Business management so maybe After I finish my study. I interested to become bitcoin related businessman but I am not limited for that. I will build a business but it will not only focus on cryptocurrency, maybe cryptocurrency will be a part of it but only for medium of payment option. I don't have any skill in programming, so maybe the business that I will build will only ease bitcoin adoption, cryptocurrency will not be the main product. I hope I can get enough knowledge and ability to do that in the future.

Exactly, OP's current degree combined with this is going to be a useful thing because they can make a lot of money plus it's a new industry compared to other giant industry out there so pioneering in here could be beneficial if you know what I'm saying.

The knowledge you can get from those expensive university degrees, you can also get from a varity of online course which mostly are also offered by notably universities for a part of the money. Just look at MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) sites like coursera.org, edx.org or udacity.com. They all offer courses and certificates in the blockchain space. Some are even free.

That's definitely true, I've used sites like Coursera and Edx.org before, however, the free version only provides you with the course's content. If you're willing to pursue a verified certification/degree, you'll have to pay an additional amount of money to receive it. Yes, you'll have all the contents of the course for free, but you'll be unable to display its completion on your CV.

They are a great learning tool, though, I've enjoyed every course I've enrolled into.

Now, the development of blockchain continues to move so that the application of technology continues to grow.

To follow the flow of blockchain technology, qualified human resources are needed.

Many industries can benefit from the transparency and efficiency of recording data such as logistics, supply chain, health records, financial services, and so on.

So for that, all universities should open a special department of blockchain, because technological developments are very fast and have become the needs of all humans in the digital era like today.

I dunno why but for me, I dont choose any major just for a future career because I found my self always get job in another field which is different with my background major. So, if you choose the major for master degree I just suggest one thing. You have to know well ur self, what do you want to learn more spesific or what thing make you interested then you choose it. Dont think that how about career or another things, thats just a side effect which always change.

It's a bit of a risky course to be taken though, things that we wished to happen would probably not happen, what if crypto totally collapses in the next 15 years? We don't know but at the same time we also want to pioneer in this industry so you can make more money.

I've stumbled upon a Master’s Degree, in Blockchain and Digital Currency.

The courses are the following:

Required Courses:

Introduction to Blockchain and Digital Currency
Principles of Money, Banking and Finance
Law and Regulation in Blockchain
Blockchain and Entrepreneurship Management
Blockchain Systems and Architectures
Emerging Topics in Blockchain and Digital Currency

Selective Courses:

Digital Currency Programming
Smart Contract Programming
Permissioned Blockchains Programming
Cryptographic Systems Security
Emerging Topics in Law and Regulation
Emerging Topics in FinTech
Open and Decentralized Financial Systems
Token Economics

What are your thoughts about such a degree? Would you go for it? What career prospects would something like this have?

https://www.unic.ac.cy/blockchain-and-digital-currency-msc-distance-learning/
Currently blockchain and digital currency are quite hot industry and easy to get rich if you have a passion for cryptocurrency then I think you can join the course with your passion and I think here It's a pretty interesting course if it were me I would join immediately.

Blockchain and cryptocurrency you see growing trend in the business world now. Although I am not sure if having a masters degree in this area is necessary.  I’ve seen people who have taken a one year course on blockchain and cryptocurrency, and they were able to get a really good job that pays very well with the certificate they got from the course.

But it’s still up to you, it wouldn't be bad if you are to have a masters degree in an area you are interested in, At least that would put you in a better position than others who are looking for the same jobs. So, what I’m trying to say is that if you are interested in blockchain and cryptocurrency and that's something you would like to do as your job, then go ahead and study it.

You already do know that most companies are now investing in cryptocurrencies, big personalities are very eager to provide someone with a personal job who does specialize in this sector therefore I do think that you might have a lot of options if you do get the masters in cryptocurrencies for sure but that would also be dependent on the location, there are places where are more options available for people who did such courses, therefore you have to be ready to move any moment. There are already many companies undertaking small courses in which kids are enrolling, pertaining to cryptocurrencies and bitcoins, therefore I do think that, you have to see where you would have to apply because this will pay well but only if you choose well where you are going next. Planning is everything.

if i have a time and money i will also take crypto or blockchain course more than the usual courses because they are more interesting .
That's quite a long story. When I chose my BSC degree, I wasn't sure of what I wanted to do/study, thus, I went with it without too much thought. It's a combination of poor choices and mental health complications.

Well, the issue is that I'm not inclined towards something particular, I still haven't made up my mind on what I really want to do in the future, choosing a master's might also be a mistake, if I don't find what I really want to do.

Becoming a crypto related business person in this day and age will surely give you a lot of experience that only a handful of people lived plus if you play your cards right then you will be very rich as well. There are still not a lot of companies in the world for crypto, even something as simple as exchanges, coinbase rules over USA, and yes there are few others but seriously in most other business' we have a million competition there, even if you want to buy something as simple as milk you see over a dozen different brands, which means coinbase should not be alone at the top and there should be dozens of other competitors.

This was just one example, if you become a crypto business person and have a little bit of money then eventually you could hit gold with it and become very rich since the market is still ripe for taking and you will be early in.

That is true, but the cost is far from that of a degree. If you want to have a certificate after you've completed the course you have to pay $50 to 150, depending on the course and provider. However, you have a big advantage over a degree. You decide if you pay afterwards not before. If you do a degree and fail, all your payments are gone. If you fail in a MOOC you have not lost anything, except time. I consider this a big advantage.

By the way, some providers even offer so called nano-degress which cost more than a certificate course but are still much cheaper as regular degrees and you still have a certificate from a well-known university.

Getting a degree in blockchain or it's related courses should be a necessity if not madatory, reasons been that we are gradually embarking on a new digital era where vertually everything would be built on this new technology. Just like the era of smart phones which took so many unaware. This is  coming like a new wave of high civilization that would launch a new era of mordenization which would build back the trust system through it's transparency and

That's one important detail I didn't mention, I've now enrolled an HTML/CSS course, I have full access to its contents and can decide after its completion if I want to pursue a verified certificate. It's definitely an important aspect, that you are actually capable of testing that you're paying for. There's a large variety of courses that I'd like to try them myself.
