Technically, yes it is always possible for ETH to reach the $5,000 mark even no need to wait for the end of the month. However, even how good or professional the technical analysis is, no one can predict it.

September is usually a bearish month for Bitcoin, so I don't expect Ethereum to have a breakout in value, even though ETH is burned every day.

I was wondering what would be the next catalyst for ETH to reach $5K this month. It looks like the burning as a result of the implementation of EIP-1559 is enough but I still don't see why people are too optimistic about it.

The current high transaction fees in Ethereum are due to the high level of NFT transactions. It's like the DEFI wave in previous months.

Now  it is almost 4,000 https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/ valuing 3,900+ but i don't think this can reach 5000 just this month alone.

bitcoin is struggling to at least stays in 50,000 while the ATH is 64,000$ and ethereum  made 4,300$ ATH so with that comparison this cannot be what it seems in the graph .

Maybe you missed the important ETH changes and updates last time, and it really fueled ETH growth. From a personal perspective, I also think that it will be pumped again soon, when I see new platforms continuously creating ATH, I am feeling great expectations for the potential of ETH in the near future.

I would say that it is more than likely, we are already at near 4k levels right now and expecting it to go down would be weird, I mean when it is going so great right now why would we want to consider the going down part right now. I am not saying that it won't go down, but if we all kept considering that potential constantly then we wouldn't be able to keep buying because we would be afraid of it and then the price wouldn't be here.

The only reason why crypto currencies go up is the fact that people who see it go high still keep on buying, bitcoin was 10k last year but managed to hit 64k, if people said "this looks too much we should be careful" at 20k then we would not be able to see 60k. Once again this doesn't mean it won't go down but if keep calculating that then we wouldn't be able to reach to levels we want to reach and that would be a problem.

$10k might be possible but it might happen early next year but for ethereum to reach $5k i think this price is very attainable within this month. With its current price at $3, 873 as of this writing,  i know it has more chances to grow more as long as no major price corrections will suddenly appear.

We all have high hopes for bitcoin actually but i think this time, ethereum might reach first its new ATH because bitcoin is still struggling in its current price at $50,090.

I mean that is what bitcoin did on the 2018 fall, many went down as high as 90%+ while bitcoin was mostly just 60-70% most of the time and whatever else was very quick to recover as well.

So, long story short we are in a situation where we really need to realize ETH may soon become the biggest currency there is, I always said that it will become high and it already did and I am saying that it will become higher as well. What people do not realize is that when crypto is not as hyped as right now, there is no need for ETH since people do not use it. However when there is a hype on crypto, people not only invest into ETH, but they also use it, which means there is more and more buying going on making it very valuable.

The hype of NFTs and gaming today makes ETH attractive to investors. If it goes $5K this month, it wouldn't be surprising because just 2 days ago it touches once again to $4K. But it might not last long because price levels are just too high already.

You can see only a few altcoins today had surpassed their ATH and even Bitcoin didn't fully shoot to surpassed that $64K. The current price may stay at $3k-$4k for a long time.
