That's mainly because while other altcoins aren't certain of raising back with the market, Bitcoin had always proven time without number that it does bounce back stronger after a setback (correction) and you wouldn't want to miss that opportunity.

The thing about top 10 is the fact that even when they go down in the ranks, they could still become a good profit. How? Well, they go up 50% while others go up 2x and in that situation they go down in the ranks because they didn't "go as high as others did" but still gave you a profit.

You may not know which ones will be 2x but you know that if the market is green then the current top 10 will be green too, just not as high as some others.

Doge for example is a bad one, it looks nearly guaranteed to go down eventually, but if the market is doing great, if bitcoin is 100k, if eth is 10k, if bnb is 1k+ then I am pretty sure even though doge won't go up as much, it will still be in green. That is the thing about top 10 ones, rarely they go down when the market goes up, they go down in rank but rarely ever in price, and that is why top 10 ones are liked and invested.

That's true mostly but not always. You see XRP has always been a top 10 coin but even it had some problems with SEC last year and the price started to plummet pretty quickly. I guess yeah the market won't become dust suddenly as is the case with XRP, even doing nicely in the price charts recently but still doing a little bit of research and checking for any ongoing problems with the coin is worth the time spent on it.

I think the main thing that could save you from being shaken and losing in crypto is by identifying and remembering the main reason why you entered. What was your goal the moment you started investing in crypto? Was it for the short term or for the long term? "Just patience" is not the key for sure however it is one of the most important ones. It is like how you could have patience and maybe not earn any money but at the same time if you do not have it then you are guaranteed to not earn money. It means that before anything else you need to first learn how to be patient when it comes to investments. After that there are many other things, learning to read data, charts, indicators, study patterns, check them for hours to see if anything interesting going on, all of those things are added.

For me, I think it’s important to First of all be calm when the market is down. and you shouldn't rush to buy coins when the market goes down, because you can buy a coin and  the market will still go down again.
